I recently caught my wife in an emotional affair I Found A month's worth of text messages between her and a guy she went to high school with I found them in her deleted text folder she did not know about that feature on iPhones there was some lowkey sexting flirting and she was deliberately conspiring with him to hide the entire thing from me no nude photos but some that were definitely suggestive in nature and highly inappropriate his number wasn't listed in her contacts and she would say things like hubby's home talk to you after the weekend she even said she loved him a few times I confronted her and she immediately said I promise you it's not what you think she sat there and let me read through every text they even had a few very long 2 three hours late night phone calls on nights I wasn't home I spend two nights every week away from home because of work obviously my first thought is they've met up and had sex the text messages however didn't seem to indicate that the only problem is there's about a month's worth of texts that I couldn't get to because they were permanently deleted the messages automatically go away forever after a month how can I be sure that they didn't hook up during that month cell phone records show when they started texting it matched with exactly what day she says it started around she has assured me that they didn't hook up and never even attempted to I want to believe her she's being very honest apologetic and committed to doing whatever it takes to rebuild the trust and put it behind us she's doing and saying all the right things blocked his number offered to add a spy app to her phone and let me see all of her texts Etc even the text threads with her best friend there were some things in there that hurt but still no Smoking Gun indicating a physical Affair here's the problem I still in the back of my mind had a hard time believing they didn't hook up it was nagging at me I have slept 4 hours each night since I found them then suddenly last night it hit me it was like in a movie I popped straight up out of bed she blocked him forever and says she'll never talk to him again so I could download one of those apps that have a burner text number and text him as if I'm her she would never find out after mulling it over all night I gave in and that's exactly what I do I texted hey it's me husband found our text I'm texting from this number because he's monitoring my phone I feel terrible I want him to believe me when I say we never met up and did anything but he won't let it go what do I do I don't want to lose my marriage then I followed up with can I call you later to really sell it his response uh oh I don't know what to tell you we didn't so at least you're not lying if you're serious about saving your marriage maybe call calling me isn't the best idea good luck and take care I felt bad immediately I mean I felt relieved too but also really dirty like I was the one who cheated I'm 100% ready to hear that I'm the here so let me have it
