there are a lot of options for late game and End Game Gear and God of War Ragnarok and I'm sure you guys have seen lots of videos breaking down all sorts of builds in this video I've compiled all the best builds in one place so you don't need to go searching for them all over YouTube we'll start with a couple of late game builds you can put together before finishing the main story and then we'll take a look at the most powerful endgame builds we'll also cover what I think are the best accessories and runics for your companion plus stick around to the end for a tip on cosmetic variations I think most people Miss I've tested everything we're going to cover here on the No Mercy difficulty and I'll leave links in the description showing where to find all the items we discuss there won't be any main story spoilers as long as you've already been on your second trip to spiralheim for the forging Destiny main quest okay first up let's take my favorite mid game build the lunda poison build and level it up for the late game the lunda chess piece allows you to build up the poison State on enemies by using bare-handed attacks as well as Shield blocks and parries the poison stayed lower than enemy's power level by one which makes your hits deal a lot more damage the wrists and waist pieces increased damage dealt against Poison's enemies even further so we're going to equip those as well for our amulet enchantments we definitely want three vanaheim to unlock the set perk which gives us increased melee damage against status-afflicted enemies I go for Fortune honor and virtue to increase strength and luck as much as possible luck because the perks damage boost is based on your luck stat I also go for a set of knifelheim enchantments which boost melee damage when your health is above 75 percent if you have more slots unlocked the next one I'd prioritize is the emblem of the nine Realms which you get during the creatures of Prophecy main quest this one is excellent in combination with the hilt of hofad Relic which you get at the same time the hilt of hofud creates a six second slow motion realm shift in the emblem of the nine Realms increases damage during realm shifts so they're a great combo for the next enchantment I'd recommend going with the Seal of ruinic storm this one isn't specific to the poison build but it's very strong creating a storm of bifrost when you pop three ruinicks in a row one from each weapon I'll give you some tips on chaining runics together in a minute if you've got the final slot unlocked I'd go with the Boon of Valor so we can get a strength boost when triggering rage this means you'll want to set your Spartan rage to Valor of course which gives you a nice burst of health and a melee damage bonus when you interrupt an enemy attack with it that's how you should primarily use rage by the way as a sort of panic button when an enemy is about to hit you and you can't block Perry or Dodge on the ax I go with the Furious mall for its high strength stat its perk will never activate when fighting bosses but I feel that's a small compromise however depending on your play style you might prefer the Stone Cutters knob or grip of the nine Realms once you get it if you pre-ordered the deluxe edition the grip of dark tale is a pretty good option too for a light runic I've actually switched away from Wrath of the frost ancient in favor of nord's Tempest because it has a much shorter cooldown and you're much less likely to get damaged while using it regardless of which one you choose keep in mind that holding down R1 significantly extends how long the attack lasts so if your ruinic feels kind of weak it might be because you're just tapping R1 for the heavy I prefer breath of summer for its high damage and frost but in Valdez Anvil is good if you want something to reach charges faster and remember with some of the Heavies you want to keep tapping R2 to extend their duration for the blades I still think the palms of the undying spark are the best option for their strength and ruining stats as well as the perk that increases burn damage if you want the highest possible strength the deadly obsidian handles are your best option the deluxe edition darkdale handles are another solid option if you have them I especially like their perk because I use flame Whiplash a lot for a light ruinic on the blades I use Rampage of Furies but flames of Anguish and Hades retribution are good too I was using Atlas eruption for a while as my heavy but I switched back to nimian crush because it recharges so much faster on the spear I like the Warriors Echo sorator for its strength and ruining stats the perk is also pretty solid if you use Sonic arrows often but if you don't and you just want maximum strength then the best option is the hind of four wins I think the best spear light runic is thrust of a thousand soldiers because it does good damage plus it impales the enemy with Spears you can explode but Mountain splitter is also a solid option especially when dealing with multiple enemies my favorite heavy is the finger of Ruin but you'll have to find all the Ravens and defeat the Raven keeper to get it until then I recommend honor the Fallen as always I prefer The Dauntless shield for the Perry play style which works well with the poison build because your Shield bashes will deal a lot of damage and stun you can use whichever Shield you prefer though their defense stats all max out at 1 30. so the main difference is their L1 double tap ability although it's worth noting that the shatter star is best for canceling attack animations if you're into canceling the best run for the poison build is the round of purification for its strength stat but I personally like absorption for its ruinic stat and perk that helps you charge your Elemental gauge faster when blocking and parrying as I mentioned earlier I like the hilt of hofad Relic but if you want to go full poison the hilt of Dane sleeve gives you another option for applying poison the poison build is especially good for taking down bosses like Berserkers so you can get even better gear for the end game builds basically you want to use barehanded R1 attacks until you have the poison State built up then trigger the realm shift Relic by tapping L1 and x and immediately go back to spamming R1 to deal increased damage benefiting from both the poison and realm shift damage boosts you can use weapons if you want but the lunda chest piece makes bare-handed attacks most effective once the realm shift ends you have two options the simpler approach is to go on the defensive locking and parrying to create opportunities to sneak in more punches repeatedly building up the poison State and dealing damage the other option which can help deal damage faster and works with any of the builds we cover is to be ready to trigger a series of three runics as soon as the realm shift ends one from each weapon with the Seal of ruining storm enchantment equipped chaining three runics together will trigger a storm of bifrost which encircles Kratos and follows him around applying bifrost to surrounding enemies to chain ruinix together the easiest thing to do is to Simply hold down L1 and R1 and use your left thumb to tap through right down and left on the d-pad to cycle through each weapon you can just hold down L1 and R1 the whole time or L1 and R2 for heavy ruinix another tip is you can tap the d-pad for the next weapon as soon as the current ruining has started so you don't need to be timing the weapon swaps precisely or anything I recommend doing all your light ruinics first so you have the best chance of having them recharged before the fight is over you'll want to practice this in the niflheim arena where runics recharge much faster in a boss fight once you've cycled through your first set of runics be on the lookout for an opportunity to start your second set it usually works best to start a chain of ruinicks after staggering an enemy some easy ways to do that are with a shield strike or by using your Valor to interrupt them right as they're about to hit you between Rune exchange you can do more bare-handed attacks to apply poison or use the flame Whiplash skills on the blades which are good for interrupting attacks and applying burn damage once you have flame Whiplash 3 unlocked you can charge the Whiplash super fast by tapping triangle a moment after an attack the description says after a Blades of chaos attack but it actually works after a shield strike too what I do is double tap L1 for a shield strike and then wait for Kratos to put the shield down at his side then I immediately tap triangle followed by either R1 or R2 the timing is very tight so you want to practice this outside of combat until you can do it without thinking so the lunda build is excellent for Boss Battles like Berserkers and if you want more tips on how to use it I'll link my mid game build video down below but you might want to run something that's a better all-arounder for regular gameplay in the late game that's where the dragon skilled armor comes in the dragon chess piece has the second highest strength stat in the game plus its perk will give you a strength and defense boost when blocking or parrying the perk Stacks three times and lasts 6 seconds so it will be active very often I also really like the wrist and waist pieces for their perk which boosts Shield damage so it works really well with the Perry play style you could also consider swapping one or both of these for the Vidar wrists and waste pieces for increased strength but I think the dragon armor stats and perks are more well-rounded with the dragon armor I use all the same weapon attachments I mentioned for the poison build and I just stick with the hilt of Whole Food realm shift Relic too we'll want to switch up some of the enchantments though stick with the nifelheim set and the individuals we had but instead of the vanheim set I go with those fartleheim set which increases stun once you get enough of them you can go with an Asgard set instead which boosts damage from triangle skills like those fast flame whiplashes I showed earlier okay moving on to the true end game builds and we'll start with my favorite the Berserker Dragon hybrid the full Berserker armor is quite popular and for good reason but I find the sole explosions that come from the wrist and waist pieces perk aren't very strong so to get more damage it's better to use the dragon wrist than waste pieces which have much higher strength stats plus we'll get to leverage that increased Shield damage perk we will use the Berserker chest piece though for its perk that gives us a huge damage Boost after using a relic this is called soulless Warrior and it lasts for a whopping 17 seconds Solas Warrior also makes us much more vulnerable to damage but our realm shift Relic will pretty much ensure we're safe for part of that time and we can always trigger rage if we're about to take damage after that besides you should be using those fast flame whip lashes to deal damage and they'll pretty much keep an enemy stunlocked even after the round shift ends it's also nice that the chest piece gives us some solid stats in all six categories particularly ruining to boost the damage of our runic attacks for the inch enchantments I keep the three specials we've been using and I go for the meaffelheim and Asgard sets for nifelheim once you get Justice I'd swap that in instead of Fortune for Extra Strength if you don't use a triangle attack skill often then instead of the Asgard set I'd suggest either muscleheim spartalheim or vanheim depending on how their perk fits with your playstyle my attachments and runics for the ax blades and spear are all the same as what I mentioned for the poison build and my shield is still The Dauntless as I mentioned earlier I prefer the round of absorption for its ruining stat and perk but if you want more strength and the ability to clear statuses on yourself easily then the round of purification is an excellent option another way to increase the strength is to go for the vidar's wrist and waist pieces instead of the Dragon ones this Berserker Vidar hybrid is a little better if you don't like the Perry play style with The Dauntless Shield I've used both the berserk or Vidar and Berserker Dragon builds to beat Queen Gana and the Berserker King on the No Mercy difficulty so they're both super strong I consider these two builds to be the most powerful in the game you can also create what I'll call a realm shift variation of the these builds by swapping out all the weapon attachments for their nine Realms versions which allow you to trigger a 1.75 second realm shift by hitting L1 and triangle when your Elemental gauge is full the realm shift is pretty short but the major benefit is that triggering them interrupts pretty much any attack so using these as a great way to stun lock an enemy when you want to go in for an attack the round of the nine realms for The Shield is also really nice because it has a chance to trigger realm shift just by parrying so it costs nothing but skill to use by the way guys if you find these build breakdowns helpful leaving a like down below helps out the channel and would be much appreciated there is a more optimal build if you like Realm shifts though of course we'll want the gauntlets and belt of Radiance which allow us to trigger a 1.75 second realm shift when dodging at the last second for the chest piece I like to use serders because our damage will be boosted when hitting enemies during their attacks which you'll pretty much always be doing when you trigger a realm shift by dodging a set of alfheim enchantments will boost our damage even more during realm shifts too since they happen after last second Dodges I like nifelheim as the second set on this spilled but vanheim's fartleheim or Muslim work well too I stick with the Boon of Valor and the emblem of 9 Realms but instead of Sigil of ruinic storm I go with momentous stride on this build so our Elemental Gage gets charged by our last second Dodges that's important because we're going to use the hind of the nine Realms on the spear to give us another way to trigger realm shifts I also put the round of the nine Realms on the shield you could go for the nine Realms grips on the axon blades too but your strength stat will start to suffer so I think it's better to stick with the Furious mall and either the undying spark or deadly obsidian handles of course we'll want the hilt of hofad Relic to get our longer realm shifts as well I actually find this build really effective against gnaw once you've learned the timing of her attacks now for those of you that are mechanically skilled but just want the ultimate hack and slash build no messing around with ruinix relics and all that then you're going to want the full Vidar set on the blades use the deadly obsidian handles and on the spear you'll want behind of the Four Winds the round of purification has the highest strength stat for your Shield the resulting 643 strength is truly insane I I'd encourage you to at least try using the Berserker chess piece instead I think even the biggest hack and slash fans will find it really satisfying to pop the hilt of hofit Realm shift get the Solas Warrior Boost from the Berserker chess piece and go to town whacking enemies in slow motion if you do seriously just want maximum strength though it's possible to push it all the way to 700 if you use all of the enchantments shown here on the opposite end of the spectrum we can create a super tanky build based on the steinborne chest piece which gives us a health burst after taking significant damage you can start crafting steinborne Armor after defeating a couple of trolls which will require the mystical heirloom Relic to awaken now you could go full steinborn on the wrist and waste too but I think it's better to get some other perks using the bracers of Raven tears will boost all the healing effects our gear is going to give us as well as from hellstones and rage I also like adding surter's waist piece to reduce damage if we get hit while attacking our weapon attachments need to be mainly focused on getting our Vitality up to 170 so we can use all the best healing enchantments so on the ax we'll go with the banner hog knob on the blades we'll use the hardened War handles and for the spear we'll use the hind of volatile might the shield should be the stone wall and you'll want the round of restoration which also gives us access to a perk that can heal Us by double tapping L1 after taking damage the enchantments are really what make this build though the regular and greater regenerating Essence give you a constant passive healing effect crest of desperate heroics helps prevent you from taking fatal blows by giving an invincibility barrier at critically low Health Plus it heals you a bit when the barrier disappears Stone Idol of souls gives us another way to heal by triggering Soul steel when using health and rage Stones here's Armament gives us yet another way when we get killed with ruining attacks Celestial pansia increases our resistance to all status effects and poison protector and bright-eyed emblem further protect us from Poison and blind in days respectively finally the Boon of Valor we've been using gives us another way to siphon Health from enemies with lifesteal altogether this build is ultra tanky and it's honestly difficult to die even on no mercy I pretty much had to let enemies hurt me on purpose to get below 50 health I don't personally think this is a super fun build but it definitely will keep you alive the final build we have is the lucky build and full credit to gso for coming up with this one he's the first person I saw document this build on YouTube I'm going to show a different variation of this that I think is even better but I'll link his video below for the original so the idea with the lock build is to leverage the perks on a couple pieces of gear so we can restore cooldown on our Relic really fast the luck chances for this to happen are usually low but we're going to make Kratos so lucky that it happens all the time which means you'll be able to use your Relic all the time and that's kind of broken once you have the hilt of scoffner which unleashes 12 Berserker swords on your enemy the chess piece is gift commanders for its luck stat as well as the perk that gives us a chance to immediately restore 70 percent of our relics cooldown when using it that's already huge but it gets even better because we're going to equip the Berserker gauntlets for their perk that can give us a blessing of cooldown on any successful hit you could go for the Berserker waist piece too but I agree with jiso that The Guiding Light piece is better for its higher luck and damaging explosion perk which I find are stronger than the soul explosions on the Berserker one we'll want the Anaheim set of enchantments since they're based on luck and we can easily achieve the status Afflicted requirement by applying hex or sonic to the enemy the next four enchantments are purely to boost the lock stat and then Sigil of Doom works well because it boosts damage to hexed enemies based on luck I also threw seal of ruining storm on there since it's always nice to have I like the nine Realms ax script for this build even though Howard's lucky knob has more luck I think the perk on the nine Realms is much more useful we'll go with the cursed Empress handles for the blades and you'll definitely want to attack with the blades a lot with this build because that perk is really strong when it Stacks behind a weightless recovery on the spear gives us more luck and also gives us another way to get a blessing of cooldown when our Elemental gauge is full for the shield we'll use the onslaught with the nine Realms Ron detached and finally don't forget the hilt of scofen on Relic you'll see if you play with this build that you'll be able to trigger it super often which is honestly going to be pretty broken for New Game Plus okay now for the companion gear for boss fights Sonic is generally a little more used full because it helps you build up stun when a boss's stun bar gets filled they take a big chunk of damage so you always want to be trying to fill that stun meter that means Sonic Attunement and Sonic Aftershock are important to help us build up Sonic faster and deal more stun damage to Sonic Afflicted enemies for the third one I go with Reckless empowerment which boosts damage dealt while the arrows are fully depleted so to use this most effectively Parry an enemy attack and then right before double tapping L1 for a shield strike spam all the arrows to build up the Sonic State then do your Shield strike for maximum stun and damage outside of boss fights I think hex is more useful to help amplify Elemental buildup and damage like burn and frost a good set of hex accessories are Sigil of amplification sigil punishment and ruin engraved release together these help build up hex faster and increase damage to hexed enemies hex can totally work well in boss fights too I just find Sonic is slightly better especially for tougher bosses to learn more about using hex Sonic and all the other elements check out my Elemental damage video linked below for ruinix I find Wrath of the Wolf most effective for atreus for Freya say their exhale is great because it gives you a way to poison enemies even when you're not using the poison build yourself once you have the Queen's Roar I'd say that's the strongest one finally remember once you've upgraded a piece of gear to level 9 you can hold square to edit its appearance to look like any other piece of gear you own plus each piece of gear has two cosmetic variations so you have lots of options to get creative here alright guys those are all the most powerful builds I know of in God of War Ragnarok if you enjoyed this video or learned something new leaving a like would be much appreciated and if I missed your favorite build let me know in a comment below thanks for watching and I'll catch you in the next one [Music]
