Alison's First Ever Campsite - Grafham Water Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

[Music] all right we're on our way to try it again we're on our way to cooking you should know where we're on our way well i was expecting you to say it no that's it testing you so you know where we're going i don't know that now knows where we're going yeah certain over me know where we're going the viewers probably do as well because they've probably read the thumbnail haven't they yeah that's right yeah we're going to rocks we're going through roxanne yeah on our way to graph and water yeah about two hour journey isn't it yeah yeah can't get can't get until one o'clock so we're at the moment we've got an hour to kill yeah yeah we're meeting uh allison there with a wild ex aren't we yeah yeah i think it's the first campsite she's been to with with the uh wildex yeah they're meeting some friends other friends tomorrow yeah yeah so no doubt i'll have a few questions from allison yep you will you'll know that the answer taller than money maybe at not roundabout take the third exit there's a sign for it now yeah some great big solar panels on the side of the reservoir there not sure how fast he was going in one and a half miles turn left onto church road if i remember rightly it was a bit overgrown last time we came yeah we've got some adventure stripes last time we came here yeah in a quarter of a mile arrive at graphic water on the right see it's fairly narrow down here that's why they don't want you arriving too early no i think it was some of these overhead trees on that yeah of course these trees are a bit overgrown this one particularly here yeah there's a car coming i think that's what happened a car came and he's pulling in for you it's really overgrown isn't it yeah arriving at grafton that's the camping caravan cs site there isn't it next door 12 59 the time we get to the gate he'll be working it could be one o'clock when time we get to the gate yeah some residential bungalows here as well aren't there yeah open the barrier for you it's one o'clock we're not the first certainly not the first one about the third fourth [Laughter] got you running thank you if you could stay with the vehicle till you get to the front of you that'd be brilliant we've got membership card method of payment and face mask ready yeah we'll do that speed things along all right will you need to get water on board no no okay that's fine we've got a new motor vehicle service point all right i could have tried that out yeah i might try that after i've perhaps yeah yeah yeah i'll have a look at it yeah yeah and at least it's somewhere to get you'll know where it is we're dropping out your way yeah all right okay thank you isn't on the map yet because obviously we didn't know after the maps are printed as it's a case well visitor car parking i couldn't remember yeah we have now we've got a new one oh right where the where the swimming pool was oh right right vehicle yeah everything done at the same time so you should drive around there you'll see that you're right excellent all right lovely thank you so there wasn't any i'm sure there wasn't no it wasn't but there is no get this stuff out then yeah face mask membership cards whatever else i need yeah car package in there yeah yeah that's where the swimming pool was yeah nice car park yes brilliant yeah yeah because that's what we were thinking when we're coming here because i've got some friends visiting now we can have friends visitors no you've got friends yeah yeah that's right friends yeah yeah that's right no problem but no swimming pool i don't know telephone box over there is yeah there's a plant planter box isn't it the telephone box near i don't remember using that one because i think when we first came here i had got a phone mobile yeah i don't remember using that one no so this was oliver cromwell's cottage hmm apparently allegedly yeah i don't think he ran a campsite there no it wasn't a campsite then was it so we could drive 15 and 14 couldn't they yellow ones highlighted uh the ones that are free yeah so there's some in the middle here so okay where do you want to go then well they're service pitches there's two sort of at the back but i'm you can use your concern whether there's a tree there yeah she's not here yet don't you no is this here and there's one opposite this one yeah she'll go in this one here yeah okay but i've left jenny with all the dogs sorry did you take a note of what number we're on oh did you no go in and tell them where we are yeah okay i'll wait here because we're right in the traffic there okay you wait here girls come on and tell them where we are you staying there then pops do you want to move no well we're going to walk around there pop so you better you want to stay here on your own very nice motown service point there now you'll need your key now you can what you can get as an adapter i'll show you it but it's it sort of just screws in in place of the the cap and you don't have to stand there and hold it um turn the key i think that's it right now so order he worked out that allison needs a kiosk adapter otherwise she's going to be standing here for a while but that's okay i mean you don't not doing anything else [Laughter] and just by by sheer luck i think the hose had a screw on cap yeah so just put in some water 50 there you're supervising this guy yeah don't look at me like that hear the pump going now can't you see if you look over here and get in there yeah we'll do that we'll do that in a minute turn the pump off stop it struggling 60 60. you could be watching this and yeah you could be watching this 80 percent this within arm reach of the tap yeah because if i'm on my own well that's why you need the adapter because you just leave it plugged in okay do you have to tell me what i need to yeah i'll show you probably won't use all that in two three days right all right all filled out with water and we're down to the seat to the hands break that took a bit of getting used to yeah you can get extenders if it's a problem well i think i'm all right with it yeah that yeah go through the barrier yeah i think that will open automatically yeah or is it the other one that's automatically it's just the other one you'll need to do the limbo act no that's the box for it when you go out okay when you leave when you leave you put the thing down there so these channels yeah these are private um private yeah it's a nice little area go right here that's it and you're back at the because there was a lot of entrance i was about third fourth in the queue yeah well there were three people in front of us when they arrived at one o'clock and i know it's where you have to eat do you see it on the right there the silver post yeah don't you yeah you don't want to get too close that you clobber the curb but you don't want to get too close that you hit it with you how do you um getting a little bit closer i think you should yeah you should just swap flash it at it i think you should go over it that was very simple yeah yeah you just have to have the card card in your hand yeah this time i'm gonna go round okay well i know i don't know if i should actually should probably go that way i'll go i'd go yeah because you want to reverse in yeah yeah then you want the post on your side at the back yeah yeah so i might let you get out in a minute and then you can yeah and i'll see you back ouch club by myself with the seat belt because you've got yeah you've got a reversing thing there that's smart isn't it very well it is good it will be good and i've already got the hang of it um yeah so you're right straighten up a little bit now whoa that's it i think let's have a look i'll have a look i'll tell you on the mirror it's disappeared behind the camera isn't it yeah it's perfect that's perfect that's it it goes in there that's it and some of these you have to switch on but i think they're already switched on yeah that's okay would they they'll be in the up position normally and that's on yeah with the spiders you see the spiders they'll check it for you yeah so if you trip the electric that's where you're going yeah yeah what i normally do is i just stretch it out a bit because you've got a fairly long lead here that's it make sure you're going around the other side anyway and you want to just put it under the van just so it's not a trip acid and what you don't want to do is coil up the the cable yeah yeah you said you yeah yeah this is the actual dog walk yeah yeah there you go all hands together yeah remember this because you've got a little dog walk up there you can go or you can go onto the field there we go yeah a14s over that way that's right yeah and that way you can autograph them can't you not there's not there's a lot there if we do it tomorrow yeah there's a field here i seem to remember available that's good it's quite neat because that's a bit worried about that because she wants to go out first thing in the morning yeah it's nice and handy yeah yeah it's better to be this near the dog woman sometimes i think oh it's too much barking because you're too knit you see too many dogs but at least it's handy when your one wants to go right doesn't it i think it's about ready isn't it ready for my weetabix that's a skid there so when alison's managed to splash yourself with water priming the water i think you're all set up then poppy's just gone through there bobby you need to come out of the way there's a little lever down there yeah see that that little lever there yes you pull that and then you push it right mine sky here and then you turn it round you might need to sort of pull on the lever backwards and forwards to get in the right position right so that goes all the way around right so yeah the one i haven't yeah we didn't turn that one right down this one yeah skye you're right in the way there it's gonna put my foot there yeah i've done that that's why it's got a little pad there isn't it yes they can be a bit stiff these chairs to turn yeah and then push on the top of it that's it because this one makes into a bed yeah with that with that yeah but that was the point i got to yeah now what you can do is you can drop the steering wheel if you look under the steering wheel feel under towards the bottom of the plastic bit there's like a lever a little bit further down yeah pull the lever oh yeah pull it that's it now you can push the steering wheel in you'll have to sort of lean on it in yeah that way yeah that's it that was supposed to be gel yeah that's good and then then you can i didn't know how that's it then you get that round like that ah brilliant you can get the kettle on there [Laughter] you know so we're trying everything out making sure everything works um it should rest against the side i don't know does it come out yeah i should just rest it don't let it drop but that's it and now you've got to reach for the a legs it's like mine i don't know um is it same there tell me if i yeah so that yeah that that pushes in there pushes in okay i think oh it is different from mine yeah so these these legs are quite different here this got a thing that you let the leg down and you push this lever all the way up so it is quite different yeah so you might want to let the leg down a little bit more just sort of push it up a little bit okay and then put your clip up that's it so it's safe then to wind it then it's you can wind it a bit more it's just it takes the weight that's all yeah and then move the feet out yeah that's it what you want then you want to do is that you get those legs straighter you'll know when to stop yeah should i leave these a bit more i thought i think yeah bring them out of it yeah well at least you now have to put it up and that's all you really want isn't it is going to rain soon so surprised how different it was to ours legs are the same the um arms are the same rather well it's got a nut that you you tighten up on it i've come a little bit we're going the wrong way now yeah anyway that's it i'm just going over here i know thank you guys you can't help well that's that's a canopy out there end all right oh yay hi brian oh yeah thank you thank you yeah so that was your uh first two nights ever on a campsite it was my first adventure in my event and um it's well i've learned a lot yeah of different things and um it's a nice sight plenty of uh space yeah and uh nice and near for sky to go and take her over to the uh dog walk was a nice walk as well for the day he went around yeah two two other two possibilities really for walking yeah and um yes i mean that the campsite um manager warden are they called water oh well i think they're called something like um holiday assistance or something i can't remember um uh he was very helpful yeah yeah and um told me where to go and that sort of thing yeah so it wasn't too daunting then no but i'm glad that you here bob yeah um to help me with some bits and pieces yeah yeah you figure most things out i think yeah yeah but things like putting the um taylormade onto the front that's quite hard because it's quite high yeah you definitely need the stool yes yeah and the awning as well yes which was very successful really we got that out and yeah that was um that worked really well yeah sitting between the vans yeah and um you use microwave and yes i've tried the micro i haven't tried the oven but i've tried the cooker hob and you've had a shower in the van i've tried the shower and you've just about run out of water after two days yes nearly not not too much left in the water tank now although we didn't fill it quite did we no i think we filled it at 80 yeah so it would um if i completely filled it i suppose it would have been yeah that would have been enough yeah well it is enough anyway but um you just got to empty the water now yes yeah on my way out on your way out you're going to leave shortly yes and um yeah so definitely first experience has been enjoyable yeah and um helped by the fact that it's been nice weather as well yeah and it's nice to meet up with friends as well yes and we had friends coming over yeah to visit yeah toilet facilities pretty good yeah yeah you went in there didn't you i haven't actually been in the toilet lucky it was all right so yeah sorry quite nice and open and so even though someone else was in there yeah didn't have to get very close to them no you didn't feel uncomfortable with that no good um yeah it's quite nice to get to know the system of how you come in the in the front gate and yeah the barrier card wait for your card and pay of course and things like that and you're told where you can go or yeah we're you know given an option if you want to how did skye find her then she well she's i think she's been really good yeah she's adapted quite well i think maybe she's been bored once or twice because yeah um if she was at home she'd rather be swimming somewhere yes chasing stuff um but other than that you know i think she's she's been very good really yeah quite um so you do it again there oh definitely yes well doing it again in a couple of weeks aren't you yeah yeah i know i know we're meeting at fairy minutes and yeah yeah yeah yeah i think i think it's only two weeks yeah so that'll be another um yeah really yeah try yeah anything you want to highlight on the van here no i mean i think it it's actually i'm pleased with there's nothing that's i've found irritating no apart from the size of the bowl and there's a washing up bowl it's too big it fills the sink so there's no tipping anything if it's in there yeah um and that's probably about the only thing i've found irritating yeah the bed is relatively easy to set up comfortable it's very comfortable yeah um obviously i've got a duvel um sleeping bag yeah so you've got the extra mattress which i think i yeah the extra comfort i would have needed really because if it had been a bit ridged which would have been with the cushions yeah i probably wouldn't have been found that very comfortable no um but we're talking about you were saying about sleeping arrangements if you take anyone else with you because you can make up the bed at the back of the front yes that's that third seat as it were but you haven't got a curtain between the two areas have you know no so that would be something to think about yeah yeah if i wanted to do that yeah um good but um yeah happening so far everything i've i've been able to do everything that i needed to do yes and you found it relatively relaxing and not too stressful no that's right i mean i was quite yeah um anxious about it before i got here yeah and sort of at the beginning whether i was getting things right and that sort of thing but actually it's not that difficult really and that the bridge over there is not an audio no no no it hasn't really it's just really somebody went over that bridge it's about seven o'clock this morning but i was already awake but i think it would have woke me up yeah if it hadn't been yeah i also had owls hooting in the neighborhood yeah that's it you want to hear the wildlife yeah and um and uh pheasant yeah because we're gonna make a lot of noise we've got all the woods behind us somewhere so yeah through some fields yeah and the dog walks just over there yes you've got quite a good pitch here didn't you yeah it's it's actually worked out quite well yeah yeah yeah that's great thanks for that cool thanks for your help yes but i'll let you get going there just above jenny's head well there right there yeah uh yeah so i've had a good time and i had a great time yesterday i'm looking at the site plan because i don't think we've shown the site plan well i will put it on the screen now yeah so here it is yeah okay right okay that's it then that's it that's it yeah yeah nothing else to say well i haven't been around the toilet to be honest we're not using the toilet still no the showers no i think i use the toilets once on this i think we've got into the habit of using our own uh showers yeah you know i don't think i feel particularly uncomfortable about going in the shower block no no i think they've been quite busy i mean you came back from the one at norfolk broads and said it was packed yeah so it's full isn't it yes i mean obviously there's a lot of families here yeah so they're using it so it's probably best i carry on using my own facilities been quite enjoying it to be honest yeah yeah so last day here today yeah um madison's goes midday usually yeah and then tomorrow we're off to you toxita that will pronounce right yep utopster and we're going to meet up with glenn and sharon yeah because it's sharon's 50th that's right yeah yeah so i don't know if this even this video is part of the norfolk broad story i don't think it is really is it well it's on the way back from the national brewers because obviously we don't live anywhere near it so we have to get there and then get back don't we somehow so meeting up with uh glenn and sharon in august we're going to be meeting up with alison yeah we're meeting up with the same group again at ferry meadows so we're looking forward to that yeah yeah so that's obviously one if you're new to motown's one of the things you can do with mote homes is that you go meet friends yeah yeah and since we moved it's been even more important that you can come down and see them because a lot of our friends are southern based and obviously we're 200 miles up the motorway so it's a great way of coming to see them come and see them yeah yeah yeah um okay that's it i think that's it i think things to say yeah [Laughter] great waffler yeah so if you enjoyed the you've got some more around here yeah yeah a few grass pitches around here another pitch there yeah to the left and you've got the the exit here okay so i thought i'd just show you that before we leave you yeah we're just going for some dog food underestimated didn't we take into account we've got two dogs both yeah
