Alan's Routemaster out for a run

since the coronavirus lock they have been able to use the bus for more than two months now so bad thing to leave these standing these all Routemaster bus is so I thought I'd give it a run today anyway better check the water and they will make sure their waters all right I can see that at the level fine to the maximum not so we're okay to go yeah that's the gear gear selector on the side of the steering column so you got in the mid position it's neutral which is that anyway down now it's all neutral first gear second gear third gear and top gear and that also selects the fully automatic mode and then the reverse is like right down to the way you have to pull pull this button out here can't do it west whilst I'm holding the camera yeah pull the button out there and then it goes down that's reverse right here we go [Laughter] and this bus from the lovely engine is gone [Music] go around the indicates not like on another car which counsel you do it manually lazy to leave the thing switched off noisy roll mostly on top halation for example [Music] don't die [Music] the streets in London right semi-auto here bombs for poor kids colonizing [Music] right it's a job he's Phillip green but not room pizzas [Music] three oh really [Music] I have that trying to stop [Applause] pulls away holy smokes peeking [Music] down in hi to reversed oh there we go most forgiving my flavor switch off stop flag comes down immediately say cuz the engines not running so there's no hydraulic fuel to to work the brakes whenever you go down the road if that stop flag comes down it means you've got a problem with the brakes and a lot of Routemasters have this problem you know the they have a complicated system of air over oil and sometimes you know you have a problem like that we won't this this year because we have new accumulators fitted on the brake system so I shouldn't have any problems but if that stop flag comes down you're supposed to stop and check the problem which is almost impossible to do when you're on the road obviously so if we wait until you get to your destination yeah have you enjoyed the ride
