Alabama Accent VS Mississippi Accent @True Southern Accent

hey y'all this is true southern accent and this is alabama accent versus mississippi accent and we're gonna show y'all how different our accent is or is it [Music] so where are we at we're in tupelo mississippi which is the birthplace of elvis presley elvis presley yeah and um we come all the way here today to find a mississippi accent and i found it tonight so what is your name it's kimberly claridy calibrity kimberly claire yes okay so all right so i'm just going to ask you some questions and y'all can just like say first thing is what do you call your parents mama and daddy mama and daddy what do you call your friends mama and daddy say same right yeah i don't know i say dead and then eve daddy how do you say daddy daddy like daddy daddy so you said it with an e how do you say daddy so you're saying it right daddy d.a.d yeah she's got that you have a need okay so what's next what do you call your grandparents mama and hatball now mom papa yeah on both sides of the family yes so how do you know the difference in them well i got my papa ernest and my mama linda and then i got my papaw james and i got my mama dean yeah so saying that in the south everybody got it they gotta put a name with them but most people call them my mom papa or pawpaw and granny or something you know yeah well we don't put last names in alabama no she didn't say last night she sent their first name so what do you call what do you call a carbonated soda oh well i just call it a coke so dr pepper or soda yeah do you call it extra cola yeah that's kind of weird so if somebody comes to your house and you say you want to ask if they got a carbonated drink say do you say do you want a coke and they bring you a sprout or whatever no i just say you want a spry or you want like a you call it out certain things i do because in alabama everybody calls it coke yes really and they say what kind you say you want a coat yeah what kind you want i want a dr pepper or i want to say i don't say that so well i might be different from everyone else but i'll just say what kind of soda you want or you want a dr pepper it's really different to hear someone in the south call it a soda yeah but you don't call it a pop right no because everybody in the north call it a pop nobody i've never hear nobody in some called soda so what do you call the meal you have at 12 o'clock in the middle of the day lunch you do call it lunch what do you call it what do you call a seasoned alabama dinner dinner and what do you call what do you call your father's hot meal or the evening meal supper so yes that's the same so we have dinner at 12 and supper at five okay well i mean we just grew up that way yeah and then we moved to huntsville by once a big city and they have dinner at restaurants and that just like blows my mind like dinner ain't dinner at 12. so do you hunt i've been hunting i wouldn't say i gave a whole lot just me and myself but yeah we go we do a lot of hunting what kind of way you hunt well we hunt deer we hunt turkey rabbits so what about uh fishing y'all fish we fish we do what kind of fish you catch trevor can tell you all about trevor don't be shy this year this is your moment to be a star yeah this is it catfish crappie bass brown where are you from sir smith where are you from i'm from amery mississippi amory mississippi so smithfield is really spelt smithville it is and they just got to show it to smithfield yeah okay so uh so you got four wheelers we do we go mud riding and we have we got there's in fulton mississippi there's barnyard but we call it mud boggers and they're actually having a thing at the end of this month yeah they're having a thing at the end of this month where you can go and we got trey lewis coming and performing on stage so everybody's going to get to mud ride and camp out and stay for that concert oh that's pretty cool it is cool so it's four wheelers side by side why y'all what do you all got four wheelers side by side yeah all of it trolls all right y'all people take their trucks they're taking so are y'all y'all considered rednecks well my dad would call me a redneck yet but a redneck one redneck head a red yeah that may be the first time i've ever heard red oh yeah yeah well i do though especially if i'm going mud riding or something oh yeah for sure for sure we're here at the stills dive it is a restaurant here in tupelo mississippi that has some home country cooking yeah it is a good place to eat they got some real good drinks too yeah they have a club in the back and when they have a bear in the restaurant then they have they have what they call the the patio on the back that has a barn it actually has a band so you may hear a little music in the background that's actually the band um don't if you're a man don't fix your hair throw a ball cap on and come up yeah this honestly tonight in here i thought i told susan earlier that this is the most bald cast i've seen in one spot besides a hat store in my life when you walk through them doors you'll probably be a wreck next week it's a good old boy you ain't got to say redneck or redneck hat just good old boys and get old girls having a good old time all right so let me ask one thing yeah how about biscuits and gravy do you eat biscuits and gravy have you ever heard of chocolate gravy i do i personally do not like it you don't like chocolate grape i don't i like just regular grapes okay that's good do you know noah they don't do biscuits or gravy they don't no we're like what well i know their sweet tea don't taste like sweet tea no they don't have enough fruit tea most places but uh but yeah it's uh so do y'all know what y'all call them big old biscuits is this big i just they're okay you like them do you put sugar in your grill i don't eat them a whole lot some sugar in the grill right butter and sugar you can't eat it without no sugar unless unless they're like shrimping grits don't have sugar in them but they got like cajun spices and stuff in it but but uh yeah you can't have no you can't eat no grits yeah without some sugar brown sugar oatmeal you gotta have brown sugar and yeah butter butter it's total like a whole stick of butter and a lot of brown sugar and some blue regular sugar so basically you just eat sugar what do you eat for breakfast maybe well i usually like eggs sausage bacon you sausage patties or sausage links i personally like sausage patties better i hear you like hot mild or uh no no taste mild i like it hot hot spots i like it hot and spicy we gotta drink a lot so as a teenager in in amy mississippi what did you do for bullying besides well i would say probably at the end of walmart parking lot don't incriminate yourself or anything a black cat that cat like a fall risk back in what's black cats oh that's like a place yeah you can go ride and it's over there trevor can tell you all [Music] okay so it's locked back in where you go or something like where you go mugging and stuff yeah no we still do it i like to think we still do it yeah we do every once in a while we got the time well bought us a camper last year so it's like a whole new thing it's like i think blue estate you stay in a tent it's so nice to take a shower and camper i bet it is yeah well you know it's cool to be in the tank i mean it's something that's just you got the most primitive you can be i mean one of the most most relaxing vacation i've ever had in my life is we stayed in a tent for like a week and just hung out you know just but we had power yeah we did have electricity y'all when y'all go out y'all have power or anything water well they have a spot there at buffalo river where you can go and you can shower so are are y'all nascar fans we are y'all go yard yeah i guarantee you ain't never been there where you say so many rednecks you will tell dig alabama yeah i guess i'll ought to go there yeah so the last time we went to uh was in 97 and uh you could look at somebody and tell me if there was adele fighting just their mustache everybody tried to do that everybody had to have that daryl heart master you just dropped through people ain't had bass in three days that happened that mustache you'd see people with the number three painting on saturday i ain't talking about like a real paint job i'm talking about just taking like a paint brush and just putting a three on there like the homemade three yeah that's pretty cool but i guarantee you this yeah some of the best time you have in your life we used to go down on a thursday and stable sunday but i mean i i like to watch the race so i would go to the race but but it was a good time just you know hanging out with your friends and all but probably on black cats you know well i don't know i don't know what makes me want to go get a full weather and go down there hey get you a boy stop outside and you can come down there and rally but you can't really get a boat in most of tom big but you gotta get in the tennessee time but uh for with a boat at least with our boat we you know maybe a flat bottom boat you can get in the time big big but yeah yeah we we could we could travel down the tennessee time big movie with our boat but not in uh not not into tom bigby yeah all right so this is our alabama accent challenge versus mississippi accent challenge mississippi i hope you
