going to join us yes hello everybody my name is andreas either I'm senior first of the day on a flight to Haneda well now we're under a flight operations centre Munich or for Lufthansa German airlines this is the the building where the operation is planned operation conducted where we have our staffing where we have for scheduling for the flights and also we have for some information concerning your products for our cabin crews and so on this is the operation center Munich good afternoon I'm Matthias caucus I'm first office on this flight today to Tokyo we also gonna take you to the cabin they will be live 39.0 then for once your own which is pretty high normal is Reef if T with 10 hours and 10 minutes flat time yeah and remaining fuel of five point seven tons said Tokyo plant which is not that much the alternate is Tokyo Narita know whether it Tokyo and look as you said well is pretty fine just some wind from the thoughts which probably will be an Lda abroad for runway two three today it Tokyo Anita Munich we just saw outside we have nice weather and the retail also good weather subtly winds which is fine subbu is fine and also guys fine as well just some beautiful usual note temps here which is fine I was here last week so looked look pretty well everything at Tokyo some taxiways we're gonna have a detailed look at this later yeah let's do it in flight yeah in the beginning we have some turbulence when we depart from Munich but just small right not one of severe turbulence and some thunderstorms activity Poland and then we have a little severe turbulence above half flight times at about 6 hours I guess just until 340 PS all right so we above this is fine and the rest some some it's always the same you are there the east coast of Russia we also always have some some jet streams which could be some turbines but it's fine right now so let's take that zero zero because there was well I think there were some some kind of storms over the Yellow Sea the ethnicity of Japan hmm yes we have some thunderstorms here we can take some fuel to lay around yeah technically we have no handy killer items so we can go and I can land the aircraft I'm watching this match between you and materials of during the flight [Music] [Music] hello I'm holy hello holy holy hello Willie hi Willie we're going to Haneda today and the reason why we are talking English two reasons actually we have some regional flight attendants and there is a somebody from Eric Lipscomb who is joining us today on the flight and because the audition is international we are talking in English okay now 10 hours and 10 minutes will be a flight time it's very fast and well actually I like that because then I'm on time in Haneda during the flight there might be some shaky moments not too bad and it as it looks like after the service and before the service so in between so let's keep fingers crossed that it will be like that and it will be a smooth flight at least during the service times as you always know Siberia not so many airports to land take a good look at the passengers if they are healthy so we all have a smooth flight yeah let's move to the briefing back again and leave you alone do your job you do your secrets because we do address something something to talk okay thanks see you so ordering the crew bus now we were looking for hotline number you see a lot of flights leaving munich this time of the day here is love tons of seven one four two Vinita Tokyo we've already coop us [Music] [Music] [Music] don't tell me keeping else but the aircraft destroyed reactor fine condition in the night all toilets working here [Music] [Music] okay guys so we're gonna do the outside check now and I'll take you along when guys who started the front in general we check the clinical condition at the airplane presently two rings two engines here may obstructions then the the gears at the wheels have checked that means that their parking brake can be released so the Brits conclude from the first flight when they break that like sometimes 300 300 degrees Celsius and they have to feed on that's why it's important that those rubber blacks the circle checks alternative use I'll show you later well especially on this very now the so-called multifunction for the brand here on this aircraft 330 330 did not patent they measure three things to measure the temperature the pressure ends here angle of attack you will see when we actually it's gonna be daylight when we land in healthcare that some experience I can tell you they are really really bright when you switch them on it's like taillights comes your way this is one of the highlights skyress Saurus Trent xwb editor one of the most modern and most powerful engines on the market right now delivering nearly 4,000 pounds of surplus very impressive thing well so here we're taking the leakage history still counting from the brain mass services hold or hydraulic that wouldn't be any here's the rain tank anyone was a very beautiful thing about the strain the ring that it's perforated in the ring gives it the shamekh 8350 shape a lot of here does not affect outfit the math comes from the air-conditioned is also quite there let's go nuts in the summer they were taking the wheel if there are any here's any because any items stuck in the rubble break the break Claire then all the hydraulics my hardware with no pedals checking the tires again perfect what's in here is the ram air turbine the limiter then extends when you say yes without here engine is trying to vestibule also guys when they are very important thing it's been a very crap of them here thus at the courts very important as they are with moustaches very happy that I did sometimes when thousands already chose loading the stomach hey guys that was it that was out touch it let's go check the other guys this is this coming already [Music] drink sir oh no vague reports m-net over you over okay ready all right ready she's ready for believing guys yeah all right yes we're under 350 900 right now the x-ray the aircraft is technically perfect we have no this pitch message in our sales message today sun is shining as I need the glances of better yeah we have a fuel of 72 24 which is just the the orders who is disturbing yes it is somebody in distress it's matter yes we have to talk eh No for the guys who cannot speak German I normally hang this there every half an hour whoever is there it's gonna come and check you okay okay this is how I normally do it honest mostly to me and if you need anything in between you give me a call please yes I would do my face it was all you I just want to let you know okay right so it's just going to enter the dojo Chester see ya accurate who would like a weight of eight point six times structure 32.0 this and take away this to five zero four zero all right ready yeah 350 900 the technically we just discussed everything is fine until you weigh of the step climb sweet fuel 272 talks with extra 3.4 tone to 40 minutes plenty of fuel considering the weather it's a good amount of fuel we have when we arrived I calculated to take afraid over to the 52 Tom's so actually we have a weight of 250 my mom Thomas Restless a with expedition off and we have five we are one five two three two one five seven next of 43 laps to take off we have freenode of 290 knots the reason of 3,000 feet for the client without a fee rates very good I expect the best to call departure from runway to six left which starts at the echo deliver my to six left and a great point Delta Mike zero four nine above minor Allatoona $10 never make zero five years with 10 knots Munich maybe be back glam level 7-0 and we conduct culture 107 and point eight to four thousand dollars acceleration sports opportunities one thing that's the brake is the engine failure yes straight ahead to the point is called one extreme expiration of 3,000 sheets before that you save roughly every day after and we are light enough to come back to Munich Atlanta bitches another French ladies and gentlemen welcome aboard my name is Illinois man I'm your captain on our flight to Tokyo Haneda you've informed later on by my colleague first officer mr. anxiously to choose a good butcher a very fuel-efficient aircraft by the way yesterday the same same route of lomar 3 4600 same passengers same loads 100,000 kilograms of fuel was needed today we'll do it with 72,000 telegrams only [Music] [Music] like a choice for it put up [Music] who writes [Music] Prada [Music] right [Music] after star chicken yes 32.1% two sets and avionics experiments outdoorsman who requests for requesting [Music] [Music] [Music] break check [Music] [Music] number 704 contact 1 to 180 0 X then 1/4 1/2 183 there was a farm you know he's on several of them one for heavy washing your 807 one for several of sexy 2500 to 3500 won five month whatever is around one fine [Music] all right then everything is clear is fine [Music] so long as 49 though we have five minutes left I guess ten yes effective ten minutes [Music] cabinets are making preparations should work out yep within ten minutes looks fine [Music] oh come on how would it be entangled just m14 watch your holy bleep tango that's what I wanted to get so we just told you yes we can turn around if a second there in maybe just talk to somebody could pass by that's not a problem they cut off again one for yes Megan [Music] I've done some recent studies and it shows that coffee keeps me awake I've done some recent studies and it shows that coffee just keeps me alive yes exactly [Music] can you sleep with coffee I still didn't find anything that prevents me or offered coffee everything's ready very good so before didn't we already and elephants m14 we have anybody punches that's cool before to the cutoff one hold on contacts a woman through the old 5:05 stuns them before we propose to get one one one zero five seven five seven okay people connect our them understand the seven one for every ready for departure [Music] everything is fine Kevin is ready thank you sorry for that perfect neutral ready so I think of like checked flaps to to take off speed frustrating [Music] one five two one five two one times seven six forty three one five seven five one five seven flex 43 became emo take off no glue Kevi grouping there [Music] okay below the line takeoff runway to successfully do this left phalanx with red aspects of for takeoff checklist complete cleared for takeoff winters from three one zero slight strong at six restaurant from forward rights of cats calculated I bring the aircraft and we need a river years in case of interference right at 33,000 clam four thousand beautiful weather we could come back to music [Music] you control add control take off and flex +43 there's an Elvis Presley one hundred dollar check one mutates I'm gear up you [Music] throughout the if my umbrella thrusts acceleration is set forth of the constraint one two five seven open a simple my generator good looks and the step one for 3,600 climbing live assembly for some important for the local implied level 1 minus M 1 for 9 flat seven one Niner zero 19,000 blue and excellent Klim that's one check that's not tomatoes on flap zero first speed check laughs zero extended lies above five two five two standards wanna do some project we never do talk to neighbors about it I forgot next time yeah the size of the party so if I go scope it director will keep you advised [Music] that would have been very bumpy yes definitely with the jurisdiction of 250 not so we cannot take the nose down to taste you four seven one four directive debug and I agree back then one four three speeds on the generator one to nine oh two four five seven eight one two nine seven five of the nine one four chopped yes very bigger please no sexual jokes and seven one four five seven one one nine a climbing happens 100 some of our former she identified several coming to climb laboratory here an attempt at freedom another 3-2 pitch just dissipates pretenders fun out of altitude so in order to give them more time because that dollars by now I think pinches 7up beautiful Bavarian sky isn't it from above from above for continued climb celebration 300 okay guys now I show you the hidden and secret places in the aircraft a view of our perfect crew rest if you just come in this captain site this is first officer side but because everybody's alone here you can change anyway it's a perfect place because compared to other aircraft it's very very silent place in other aircraft you always have a disturbance through the noise and you have to wear earplugs you don't need them in here it's just perfectly isolated yeah the next makes flying a little bit more comfortable [Music] welcome back everybody meanwhile we reached our cruising altitude of 37,000 feet we're in the vicinity of Russian airspace we will be close to st. Petersburg soon further routing is well we took off in Rinnegan to 6 left made a left turn great straight ahead - it's rock and then we crossed Poland along the Baltic Sea to the Riga and now we're close to st. Petersburg in the ring continues via Russia Sea of Japan to Tokyo we have about a remaining flight time of 8 hours now so that means we will be on time at Haneda Airport my tears just talk about him again he is in the fleet management of Lufthansa and my marginally management and he's a special specialist for the performance of the 359 hundreds myself I for the manuals of the three 5938 314 and you might tell you something about the performance of the takeoff Munich Airport yeah guys maybe some interesting facts for you we depart Munich with around two hundred and fifty two tonnes we have a take of performance calculation module and we calculated the takeoff take off weight of two hundred and fifty two dots which gave a stake of speeds of around 150 knots that's roughly 270 kilometers an hour with which we lift it off we have 286 passengers on board today plus the group and yeah as we mentioned already before very fuel-efficient aircraft we only tank 73 tonnes today comparison 303 4600 it's roughly 30 tons less so really really very fuel-efficient we have a cool policy that if we have for manual flight pilots should also use manual rusts you will see that when we approach it under the airport for the probably LBA risky approach today and I will try to take the edge off my head quite early well it's a non-precision aboard so it's recommended to fly it quite long without the pilot but in a certain stage we will be able to fly it manually and if I'd take the sidekick manually I also will use the manual stressed so this is one of the policies we react to the manuals we get by Evers I see now I don't know if you can see it actually because the feel is out of the question here but it's a little bumpy here a little rough yeah saint-petersburg skies are a little windy today now which is the top of the cloud so that yeah might be one of the reasons yeah [Music] so how is it when you I think when you finish with you with the European flight Academy you can actually go to any airline can't you actually I think here right now there is an 80 PLN ampere course the MPL or the multi pilot license is for Lufthansa Austrian Airlines and the a DPL is for Euro wings okay and spit it out on the way because it's a Swiss there is a government sponsors becoming a pilot so they need to do their own training but you can apply the government sponsors is they pay part of the training Wow oh cool yeah so you need you can apply it and the European Phatak a venue for every airline I think but then you can decide where you can go maybe that's even easier later on if you have the same procedures yes if you apply let's say for twists or foreign airlines and at some point you want to change for look of course this would be if it's one of the best uses it's actually really amazing yeah if you would have the same procedures for every airline yeah if you're interested in there becoming a pilot there will be a link in the video right now awake and can I get more information concerning the European paddock as me becoming a pilot at Lufthansa Austrian Airlines eurowings all the Lufthansa troop Airlines yep so develop from my side I did the classical way to become a pilot first of all why did I become a pilot my decision was became more firm when I flew from Chicago to Munich and I was 16 years old and at this time there were also possibility to to get access to the flight deck and it might I asked a flight attendant if I can visit the pilots in fighting in the city yes of course no problem and so I went on the Boeing 747-400 flight deck towing seven foot six and then you said seven years I want to be a pilot anymore yeah because the cockpit is so yellow with you saw the Boeing and you thought but I reconsider when I was six he was very impressive all the screens and all the buttons and so on and yes so and the captain was a very nice guy and he explained to me what stars are in front of the aircraft and the whole path we are how high we are and I thought well this is a very very cool job by the Chicago for what they fly back and to operate and machine or the aircraft which is like today 20 50 tons heavy and you have the luck to be to fly this is the aircraft so but I applied at Lufthansa when I finished school and then I could start my training the technical way is called nff now for the group Sofia and I started it at flight school at Raymond when I in 2002 April 2002 and after six years theory at six months theory we flew to Goodyear this is the airline training center Arizona as part of the Lufthansa European Fire Academy and we did a practical training there for half a year which was a very very cool time because with a a very nice guys in org or course we were everybody says it's such a great time physical exam but it was a pool they were barbecues there was a basketball court so we had all just those fun parts and you get the fun of flying the opponent's on a Piper Archer which are very nice small airplanes where you start learning how to how to fly aircraft or airplanes most like a campus living in the university or College in the United States you live in one place you have one big kitchen so it's very cool all young people who took the chance to make that dream of becoming a pilot true and everybody is very motivated so it was a really cool time and after six months in a Goodyear Arizona we came back to Bremen and then we did the theoretical training again for one year which was the last part was writing the 8vl tests the Ln Fresno pilot license and then we did some fly trading in the so-called cyan which was a Jewish interpreter but probably a craft and this was the part to become a to get used to the European rules of his life the Phoenix it's very very wide area not many not many not much traffic not much ATC you have to talk to when you come to Europe totally different because you're going to a higher air space you have airline traffic a lot of airlines renting and you fly IFR with the fiber I was 13 so yeah what's quite interesting on and 92 and after that which is about took about two to two and a half years you do the type rating under 320 at this time you could choose between a 320 and a 737 but right now you only have the option to go to 320 and ya in at the end of 2004 I guess everything was done in 2008 and started flying full of thunder [Music] not bad yeah so what about you because you did it the other way where the Australians can tell me about that yeah no I did my initial training with Austrian Airlines and I did training in Florida actually how nice we were in Vero Beach going through this EE and it was really nice and then 2007 and I changed for Lufthansa it was at the time when we were looking for many many pilots and the arrangements I mean he's actually quite amazing because the chance to fly is 350 I mean you don't have the chance with many airlines yeah it's really true and I mean it's the most modern airplane out there right now the training is challenging I would say but yeah nothing you can't manage I mean oh yes a lot of studying of course and but you can manage it and also have been you don't have to be like a physician or you know like a scientist when you're a flier because I mean me for my part I did a commercial academy so no technical school before I went for the firefighting and I also was able to make it you know it's just a little more studying while others didn't have to because you know when they new machinery and everything I started but it is actually also fun you know getting all the stuff and everything that ended with lying is interesting anyways [Music] like Plato Anita you can fly to Africa South Africa East Coast New York so actually everything around the world it was so attractive is so attractive that's also that I think one of the big advantages of the European let academy or little stands a group you can live in Brussels you can live in Vienna you can save in series you can live in Hamburg you can live in Munich where we are living or the meanwhile all the drawings you have a330 fleet where you can fly - there's like Arabic destinations through the ages and you know I don't know what what's going to come at the future maybe you can change between the airlines you never know is evident even in our at our age we still have some 30 years to fly so you know see Mulder lately yes change is fast and it's good if you have a good pilot rating good initial training yes I will say yeah because we've been fighting enemy you are prepared for everything there is knowledge you can you know go for short-range if you like this area you can go for long-range if you like I stated yeah and if you're interested they will building on link on the video right now where you can get their access to the Lufthansa application websites to maybe to inform yourself about the kinds of shops you can apply pilot shop so the difference is a lot of the different the group follow me okay we have a couple of birds there are beds for every flight attendant and they are coordinated in terms of the position they're working at behind you there's a space for the cabin member who is in charge on this side there are two beds and we have three more in the back area everybody has a separate place from the privacy there are curtains on each of an individual after that everyone has pillows some comfortable sheets and blankets as well everybody has also there's individual leading lights if you come a little closer you see one of them right here so those you turn on and off there's also for their magazine - yeah I mean have you been to the spa last time when I went there I went to the spa well I wasn't the new Hyatt Regency Hotel only only once here was again that's why there was in April and I was in beginning of the month but it at this time we flew to Tokyo with only one night at hotel so I did not have the time 1000 check out this bar is what I was checked so but it was very nice to tell actually nice clean rooms they are very impressive lobby yeah it's true so did you check out this bar here yeah we went there because second night I couldn't really sleep and then I thought instead of just you know staying awake yeah I go to a sauna I tried okay and then afterwards I was tired enough to sleep yeah we are planning to go to the Shibuya crossing oh cool which is just two stations away by the subway Trani fact I read 2500 people cross the street the pm's yeah but every time the traffic goes yes the big time three and a half thousand people every time it goes down at Starbucks coffee never ever look down so funny when we're gonna have when they all start moving from from I think it's four four or five sites and all they managed to get away it has a reality so how many people living in Tokyo yeah forty million I don't know prayer maybe yeah that's my time one in Austria five times Austria that's half of Germany ultra star yes and when I go back when I walk back from the from the crossing to the hotel it's about a 10 kilometers walk and there's a park and in the in the middle of the park is a shrine can go there and see Japanese people pray when you enter it there's a ritual of washing your hands and always do it you always do it so funny yeah and then in the evening I think we should go to the sushi restaurant you told me oh yeah when a they make this excellent sushi and all the sushi bar you know it's not there is no running sergey yeah I noticed yeah as you know it from Germany or from other parts of the world is running so you think they also have it in Japan but this is like a sushi bar so you're sitting at the bar and the chef makes the sushi right in front of you yeah really fresh it's really nice is eating with your beer you have a chitchat you talk you know conversations good sushi I really like it so what is it was the favorite sushi hard to say I think the tuna yeah tunas where the medium fatty tuna is very very delicious I know tomorrow Wooley told me because he's a real to me yeah he wants to go to this French restaurant it is this is a Christian mission aku two o'clock told me oh okay bye it's a twister restaurant and he he was there before and then they have a open kitchen concept you can no watch what watch the cook that's cool how is preparing your meal and they have all those little pieces yeah very interesting little piece is very creative and all of us should have a good good bottle of white wine we're bored or something with it and are you drinking actually white wine sometimes not too much just a glass just one glass a Spock that there's one glass they have a lunch lunch menu which is not as expensive as you will expect by going to a two-star restaurant so so yeah a good chance if you're staying and it's Shinjuku area high it may be to try out once in your laughter yeah yeah we can try we should try it out I have seen it when I walked by but I never been okay yeah I know been there to adjust verify all in the last time I saw the the lunch offer and I got is quite ok for two-star restaurant yeah well we'll have to try out the Japanese breakfast I only thought Japanese breakfast in the European hotels when they had a lot of Japanese customers I never had it in Japan and we have like miso soup with some fish well why not the morning yep is dry it is afternoon already because you know you have an hour time to definitely beeps and ability will be interesting it'll be interesting in that probably will be very very very good the hotel so obvious right we have to try out the Japanese breakfast it's also one of the nice things for the pilot or flight attendant shop did you again have your sushi in Tokyo and your burger in ends of the Angeles and your fillet steak in Capetown for example of winners iris the way I started becoming a flight attendant happened by accident I used to be a professional ballroom dancer with my own dance school but it was a customer service oriented profession and that is something I wanted to desperately continue to do and opportunity becoming a flight attendant I grabbed right on its neck and certainly it has even more to offer when it comes to customer service including traveling since I used to live in a foreign country the US I didn't have to give up that cultural part of my personal and professional living so now I can combine my private life in Germany and traveling back to us and numerous other cultures in countries as well pretty soon after being a flight attendant also discovered to the opportunity that I can take on some responsibility within the cabin crew activities so I decided to become a poison Kevin responsible flight attendant that way I could take on some more responsible crew activities throughout the flight take care of passengers and their special needs individual come up situations that focus on emergency or first-aid situations and just coordinating a team so well then all that I found the perfect profession for me Lufthansa also gives me a solid workspace that has me not worrying about my future and can I say I am perfectly happy here I wouldn't wanna miss it or to say anything else and I certainly see myself to it for quite some time if not till the end one of the things that I really love about working as a flight attendant for Lufthansa is that I work with a bunch of different people with a different opinion and a different reason for being here as well but the unique part about it is that everybody does respect one in each other's opinions and working together works that way as different as we all are our customers are all very different as well so there is always something for every single one of them but then the crew to find as well and we have a good time and love creating that special atmosphere with our passengers and within the crew as well within the cabin and without going to different cities getting the most out of Matthias is the instructor and boolean and I'm an instructor for these three types of ebiz - it's easy for for the pilots because they are so motivated yes because they come in to the cockpit and they are like in love they are in love with this cockpit with this aircraft because when they change for 350 what they do is if four days of ground training where they study everything theoretical all this is the procedures standard operating procedures performance and then they come they go to the cigarette oh yes simulator training that asked for four sessions four hours each and yeah you know we first session is get to know the aircraft you know get comfortable fine but fine maybe use because it's a little different through like conventional aircraft through to 330 340 and then welcome to training progresses and by the end we train all engine flameout yes we trained well hydraulics of all hydraulic we didn't train actually the electric yeah so it was one of the big events of the 350 the 314 330 and even under 380 if you have a dual hydraulic or have an emergency electrical problem you cannot use the autopilot so one of the two pilots is very focused just on flying the aircraft in keeping the air under 350 yards of course are focused how the the autopilot is managing the aircraft but it's not a lot more interaction between two pilots during the abnormal handling because both pilots have the capability to have a look at the a camp which is the display where you show that will shows you what you have to do during an abnormal and there's a big big step ahead of the 350 that even if you have a lot of my functions the autopilot is Brooking so we really big step ahead I think sound effect for you now guys our cabin pressure is now we're actually cabin altitude is now five thousand three amethy it compares to three forty six hundred we're 330 we're actually 1500 zero or it is normal so that's five hundred meters you can really see the difference yes I also have to say I mean I don't know how you feel but when I fly those long roots Hong Kong annida I I arrived arrested yes definitely there's more humidity in the aircraft is - I'm really not as tired yes it's really amazing I mean it's just an upper here but you can really psi I think some juice paper I don't remember which one it was told this is the wellness aircraft is because it's so well when you leave it yeah but it's true yes if there is wider it's more humid yeah Kevin or chilly slower it's really really this because of the carbon fiber is so stiff they don't need too much structure and it more is it lighter and it's more stiff than a conventional aircraft so where we are now we passed the Petersburg yep and it's Russia yes I checked the weather of the airport so Moscow which is south of us is pretty fine and we also have straight ahead it's called shifted car so the weather there was fine too so [Music] in the case of anything any problems we have any options right now to go best place with music Petersburg against or maybe Helsinki for the moment I'm tired already yeah I see that it's time to go to bed it will end for the sounds it soon and then yeah and I have the second break Mateus yes some time to spend take the flight deck I am in a really poor posture yes another two hours until my break starts two hours indeed but I promised him if we make another Eclipse video he'll be the pilot flying get the landing yeah now I've got a luck Twitter the guy landing the LDA whiskey approach at Tokyo which is a quite interesting approach okay so I have to talk to the CEO of the Eclipse yeah maybe we have to fly to Cape Town and stuff maybe yeah yeah yeah it could be a good project I hope you like project because this is a beautiful as especially the departure is beautiful yeah when you fly to the thousand made a right turn towards the west crossing Table Mountain Robben Island all that it's a beautiful departure [Music] good morning guys del we su se as this was a wake-up call for us everybody no just joking so I had the first break today that means that on the flight like that we are three pilots and each has about the break of three to four hours because the flight I was quite sure today it was a short break of three hours only well how did I become a pilot it's quite easy it was a coincidence my mother just read and Africa and in the newspaper that was telling was looking for pilots and I was I was studying mechanical engineering at this time and it was quite a hard job to me a lot of work so I thought it might be a good idea to do something with little less work there's more fun I was not a pilot out of from the beginning of my life dreaming of it to be honest I was not well so I applied and it worked out I started in the late 80s the pilot school yes I'm quite a good guy and came to a Lufthansa pilot school at 89 oh yes you're right 29 years right now it's a long time I started on the 737s co-pilots two years change to the ever 310 was a great airplane at these times quite modern airplane stayed there for only seven years and then had the upgrades to become a captain I was quite young at this time 32 and I was quite lucky everybody looks at me and he says what what well that's waited here because you never have the influence on that is quite little that you have thoughts between 10 and 20 years depending on the economic situation yes and I was just have a perfect situation everybody was everything was growing and expanding yes so yeah well I became captain and started with the condo building which is a shot airline had a lot of fun flying to small airports Island airports many manual flight approaches visual approaches so that was good a good time learning how to fly an aircraft after four years I came back to Lufthansa back to the mother and I stayed there for another four years on a320 and unique and had the opportunity to to change to the 83-14 una just became 41 okay I thought is it already a good time to do it because I know I knew that this will be my laughs they are playing in my career so at least 14 maybe 19 years flying on a long-distance flight so but it was a good decision to do and after three or four years now actually after two years I was convinced to apply as a jet pilot I applied for it everything worked out quite well I became a trainer check pilot on the a340 and two years later I was asked again to take some challenge actually challenge and I became a sea captain so I was responsible for about 150 pilots three captain is kind of yeah it's the assistant head of fleet and two years later I got a new additional jobs on the fleet captain which is the technical pilot technical pilot 330 340 and that was a reason why with the n change of service of the 350 I became a technical pilot or 350 as well and that was the best job you can get on an on an airline Oh sounds good looks good yeah so this is diminished that s some fruits I think I got just put some fruit yeah made you just some fruit thank you remember we have the indigo 350 accepted supplied and we also never raised early and security 600 again and I did I did most of the acceptance lines through the 350 experience flights the same thing as you if you are going to buy your car you just do an acceptance test right right you do a test ride and say yes or no the same thing with us so if the aircraft is not behaving like it should we say off this time fix that fix that and we'll be back in one week let's see if everything works out and on these flights we do some black cultural checks as well and where we do we do have the fun I found the mixture I was looking for its do something something in the office I have wanted two flights a month to some training or checking in the simulator gives us gives me a perfect simulation hello my name is Tonya I am the PTO on this flight which means that love transacted I am responsible for and also the passengers on board and my main task is to lead a team to build a team within a very very short time most of the colleagues I have never seen before we meet in Munich we do a so-called briefing and then we have 10 to 15 minutes to build a crew to build a team I have to point out what is very important for this flight and what is very important to myself which mostly is make the passengers happy make a very good impression and also have fun at work so then we go on board and we have a lot of duties before takeoff which no passenger will ever see and which is very good because this is the time when we are really really stressed so it's always time critical and there are so many things to check the ground stuff is coming asking us questions and the gate is coming they want to start the building we started boarding then when finally all passengers are here on board and the doors are closed then we can breathe take a deep breath and take off and we have to departure but this is I would say the most stressful time for us of the flight I have been working for Lufthansa now for 20 years which is a very very long time but to me it seems like two years to be honest I still love my job I love it very much and every time I go to work I'm quite happy and excited because every flight is different different different passengers different destinations despite you always have a favorite destination they try to fight flight - very often which for me is Tokyo today I like the culture I like the Japanese people very much I like the language the food so I still have to say I have never regretted to become a flight attendant I joined in the year 1997 I used to work in a bank before which is quite boring in comparison to this job I have to say and I started as a very unflattering in Munich and it was for me very clear of the few months I want to become the leading flight attendant I want to pass on my spirit to my crew and have a great influence on the passengers well-being on the flight so in general I would say if I'm in a good mood and I manage to pass it on to my crew the passengers will be very happy on the flight because they can feel it if the spirit is good yeah and so I managed after two years already to come [Music] chief flight attendant on the short distance flight and then another two years going on I already applied for the p2 position which I'm in now and finally in the year 2007 I ptoo which made me super happy engine perfect engine very very little fuel flows only 2700 at the moment pure engine that makes a few flow of less than six terms per hour how does it work that's the easiest explanation or the major reason is the fact that this is a composite aircraft so if you want to know the major differences between legacy aircrafts and this brand-new 8350 I just give you some examples first of all you can see my arm I can't reach the window if I sit on a 340 the window is already right here search for pilots is most comfortable aircraft you can imagine then you have these great great monitors in front of you well I'm 50-plus and on the 340 I still have to switch from a reading glasses to not reading glasses and it's it's really a mess I can tell you on this aircraft everything is so big and so well easy to see everything is perfectly arranged now you see this this really huge map on a legacy aircraft there's a small monitor on the left side with much smaller indications you can switch to another system this is our our communication to the ground via the the set phone or via a occo CSS older here's our major instruments this is quite comparable to the legacy aircraft but as you can see here there's a vertical profile this is brand new so this is the lateral profile you have in the old aircraft and this is new so if we have a weather radar image you can see the two-dimensional image in here and the third dimension here so this is compared to all the aircraft you that you have a three-dimensional picture of of thunderstorm in front of you which is quite essential that you can see if you are on top of it if you're in the middle of it or if you have just sir comply it because there's no way that you can over fly so it's a big big advantage this is quite similar to the legacy action off you can switch the systems like that what is quite brand-new first invented on a380 is the trackball we call it KCC you which curls a control the control unit all these you have got and kerlick are all unit yes yeah keyboard cursor control units and what you can you can take both for navigating on this displace you have on the one hand like you see you have you have the mouse on the pad and and like on a computer or you can take the cases you I just switch the same thing taking the trackball and moving around like that we can switch over there like see I'm right here in the middle display I can switch over to that display I can get some information about this point I can even navigate to this point by clicking this feature so a lot of features new and that makes it a little bit let's say complicated to those coming from legacy aircraft so what we always emphasize it take the commonality of us build this aircraft with lots of commonalities to fly to give the pilots a chance to fly a330 and a340 there the common type rating which is a a huge commercial benefits will be alive having one pilot pool for two aircrafts that we only need for simulator missions to Train 335 under 350 so it's about half a month's training yeah in the simulator and theoretical training and then then you go to the so-called line training where you do some flights with a Czech pilot like like Olli is in the real line flying and yes after let's say six to eight weeks everything is done and again why both aircraft I can tell you attention is did a great job doing this behavior completely similar to the 330 if you have a 330 pilot first time sitting in this aircraft and you tell him just you flying a traffic pattern at this F at this Airport landing this aircraft he will do it and he will just have to no introduction at all he has a scene he has inside secures and thrust labels that all he needs then if you tell them fly from A to B this is another story because then you go into the interface and there are there are some different here so this is another story but just flying it taking it into the in to menu flying it's the same story I could seduce Michael but I guess 3:30 interface it's more like a380 yes yes yeah that's it yeah we even have the checklist down here so we we now have no no checklist paper checklists in this book which we have on a convention aircraft we have two checklists electronically so for example this will be the landing checklist we will do it in Tokyo Haneda is or you read it and click it and even some points aren't sense by the aircraft so if you switch on the seatbelt signs if you have the landing gear it turns green and says okay you did it so the checklists are completely electrical whether the aircraft and another special ability normally it is the quick reference handbook this is the performance information operation information but also some abnormal information and as you can see it's very thin compared to conventional aircraft the reason is that most of the abnormals behaviors you can manage my other yes you can put it for example if you if you have it if we're encountering severe turbulence yes there's a pilot flying commands check abnormal not sense just severe turbulence so we switch on this abnormal not sense page we go through there until the abnormal not sense procedure should be there the absolute turbulence in crews and then you ask me and we activate it and I say yes yes or no we can do it as a procedure we can actually I command activate and if he activates it we will see what to do if we would have a severe turbulence so switch on to see person ions flying out faster than three or not so much point a five minimum green dot which is the minimum clean speed we have here adjust for comfort and then even we shall keep the autopilot long because the olive oil is all reliant and it's good to keep on the autopilot if you have a severe turbulence in uation but to be honest if we are encountering severe turf level yeah the most difficult thing is to read this stuff yes so it's good to have in mind which are the right correcting legs and and what to do because severe turbulence is something you cannot imagine if you if it didn't have it in real life before yes definitely jam okay where we would handle any abnormal situation or technical malfunction it is not which is not sensed by the a crop that's why it's called abnormal nonsense and as we actually not encounter severe turbulence I activated again and everything is back to normal we are in one of the business class Kelly's this is a Airbus 350 a very modern aircraft which has two galleys this is how we call our kitchen for the business class and on a flight to Tokyo we have the first meal which is gonna be a dinner we already finished it and the second meal is going to be a breakfast because by the time we land in Tokyo is gonna be 10 o'clock in the morning in Japan so people expect us to serve them breakfast everything is very tight here as you might notice so it's very shallow here you have to be careful and when we do our service we are three to four people here so it's quite crowded if you want to have a look I show you for example this is how we stole our trolleys this is what we're gonna serve for the second meal for breakfast this for example is going to be Japanese breakfast this is only the cold dishes the warm dishes are already in the ovens which have to be heated up this is for the western breakfast this is baby heat up our roads cross sauce our hot meals for later on we also have hot soups depending on the destination we are flying to deserve different components that means sometimes we have to stoop we have extra rice packs it's a lot of preparation a lot of things apply the tendons have to know and a lot of small very little containers as soon as you start our service we cannot prepare tea beverage trolleys here and in business class reserved by hands deserve hot drinks cold drinks with other passengers like we are espresso making my colleague is just preparing a fresh coffee over here we have a coffee maker quality the hot water boiler and we also have an espresso machine in business class of course [Music] right away guys yeah we start descent meanwhile we talked about a safe order which is over the island of Japan it's a 10,000 feet and approaching the star while stolen we are safe to five thousand and three thousand later on them is a east of tokyo haneda ready for briefing matthias sir or still sleepy sleepy no is no not sleepy so our crews yeah we're still in the 350 900 x-ray India didn't change the air chrono we didn't change the aircraft and technically everything is there fine we checked some no times at Haneda which concerns some takes ways but it's not in our area so shouldn't be a no matter for us so concerning fuel we still expect an extra of five tons which is one hour of extra fuel at Tokyo the weather is pretty fine we have two runways with the idea brush so it also would be a good plan B for the first no and then the other end we would have narrator with just a longer runway so we could think about going to Narita maybe when we arrive at eight tons of fuel but right now everything is fine in Tokyo we're expecting an Lda approach runway 2 3 which is a special why are the datum arrival so the arrivals starts at waypoint stone 11,000 feet and 2050 knots next weapon is threat above 8,000 feet next way for in this denne and then we go on a right turn to the LDA a date on four and a half thousand feet dairy or four and a half thousand feet disco four and a half thousand feet or ten dots and then we have the waypoints Denon Dini and then bow at 4,000 feet at tempo we will have a 277 the localizer and a three degrees flat fuzziness I will slide manage selected since not flat passing the mode we will initially descend three degrees down to 1000 feet and then we don't have a 3 degree descent professor when you do a little level off and then this officially a left turn to it's run by two three yes when important is to mr. broach it's important that we're not going to overshoot to the west so at 420 feet or the mr. George Polley will turn left intercept the course of 177 to Arana and into it boo Tebow and we will climb where four and a half thousand feet concerning landing performance we calculated for one way to three with the runway as a length of two and a half thousand meters which isn't too long never less we have a rate of one hundred ninety two tones calculated with the headwind and five knots we pilot with a margin of a power of 1,000 meters so touchdown and touchdown someone is fine we take full reverse and we will have a caterer on way to the right okay land Exodus Delta 3 we selected it at B TV and we talked about a taxi that we expect by a take through the five which will be a Sierra Romeo and I offer initially yes any questions no no finally we will end up in Papa fall and the 106 as a parking position yes - all right so other announcements switch on the super science you have control I have control Z person C person it's doing announcement your senior for service' and gentlemen yeah we almost made a pledge tokyo remaining flat time now books medley 35 minutes that means you will enter at 10 a.m. local time which is well ahead of her bland schedule the when i talk you had now a temperature of 31 degrees centigrade and the same less as you can see a survey of some few clouds at tokyo i hope to run a boat and then try the service and i like to wish you a nice remaining day at tokyo or maybe a safe and pleasant on your journey thanks for flying vests and see you next time speed vertical speed flying over 2 8 0 yeah i'm innovative idea you have control of control or to split yes I'm looking forward to sushi tonight yeah first looking forward have some sleep and then I'm looking forward to the sushi yeah maybe I first have some sushi and then go to sleep yeah I don't know I feel from shoulder I'm supported for tomorrow left on a sub 1 for contact one two for one go back mm yep check total control good morning of tender 7 1 for descending flight level 280 passing in level 2 Niner five couple to control the center incredible to 5 is albino our lessons are 7-1 for continued ascent flight of a250 to be level reno art there in over seven minutes and all no problem we're never too far sir yes there might be some weather at Anita there's some small green echoes beautiful landscape down there yeah or Krista our crew star so what we expect today is a nice non-precision approach from under ass yes and especially one because the initial landing direction will not be the final the final Turner's will be on very short on a short final actually yeah and that's the reason why he's nervous oh yeah we're very nervous expect some turbulence maybe on final yeah no I'm joking he's not nervous they'll get it managed but no pressure on me no pressure no no no pressure where would I see what you can see is a beautiful blue lake down there looks like a crater lake no not just a river there and there's already the East Coast it's not a white no unfair it's just a small and very long country yeah it's like Austria a very narrow and long and mountains and mountains I think it's a little bit longer here than not here that's true I think Tokyo alone has more inhabitants than Austria and total double-double that means we're exclusive you know yeah of us must know to left and there seven one for the back hi Tokyo control the morning of tender seven one form into any flight of the two five zero morning it's under federal for the humans are we clear appear to tell you you can never leave our three wonder and after the seven months or present position direct eye quality since either were two one zero so our style open to send or blue fed over two one zero if you're come across in us Jen you should let him do the landing where it's issued you'll get the next one you did the landing in Cape Town don't forget on our last flight to get an audit so long ago yeah it's long ago if not even true anymore beautiful approach at Cape Town and I said had to sit in the back there was an interesting fight was the 340 remember yes 340 600 and beg it was this report is 300 dented you know I don't think we will need NTS no too shallow yeah that's it yeah this Honda 31 for Kennedy as a samurai powers increase 1/1000 by 4 in it three Niner Niner seven left on a seven one four descending one one-thousand two Niner Niner seven datum arrival via stone on a short film at 1:1 head lifting at seven one four firstone one one thousand all right one one thousand and ultimate us two Niner Niner seven twenty two thousand six hundred to nine nine seven twenty two thousand six hundred you see these waypoints you think it's a coincidence stone drat Gladstone hello intentionally yeah yeah pen yep redstone the other one is Danny datum Dario what was the movie Gladstone it's more your generation of men no no no no no it's great porn identity tickly Jason Bourne Jason Bourne and the program was called Gladstone okay okay yeah do you think the director is a pilot and he saw Brett stone in Tokyo and he named the project after the approach coz after a long night pilots are talking nonsense so Indian tango lemurs identified but later we have to switch off the LS for a long FK approach everyone for synthetic approach 1 1 nadir is what a poor woman Anna for solutions a segment for the day no we don't live in Lebanon or for ILS krebons yeah yeah take a control morning of 10 to 7 1 4 and is sending one 1000 two passing 16400 morning you're not even on there to see expecting any speed only to see applause connection I know right now hidden number 7 1 4 qh 2 Niner Niner seven expecting led a whiskey rum with two three decree a direct order often there are 7-1 for direct to Denny nice shortcut yep the visibility is really good yep such a clear sky well a piece of it weather conditions everybody can fly this approach yeah no problem I did it before so speed bearing speed prophase activated let off both courses down there yeah because there's an authority send a special link in the chat on the phone that 7 1 Ford is sending 6000 feet as fast I allow them to send or blue 6000 there is downtown yeah switch on the landing lights Thanks sorry let's identify it what am i given vr1 is also identified yes for everything is done now each other with a 10 o'clock yep yep mm forty pretty a direct order from making focaccia 107 one for direct datum maintaining 6,000 okay for lending I suppose full reverse and let the BTB work yes definitely because I'd be thinking 4505 become a fairly steep so if you see about enough times are 7-1 five to seventy four thousand five hundred by tatum and we are cleared for LD a whiskey a two three approach alright so a datum I enjoyed the 3,000 we can descend managed this should be Makuhari over there yeah there was a girl used to be checked Lee yeah I see the stadium Sheba doctor yeah all right a disco we're supposed to have speed to ten selridge is not the dissent will be at the 12 point a fourteen point three LS or localizer demean in your Tegra Lima identified there's some traffic for the whiskey - - okay it's above us looks like 787 so again important is if we do a mr. Beaudry have to do a left turn yeah to this house there is disco well now we can go down to 4000 [Music] so when you speak all blue 4000 whole star yes send starts in about six miles and we are definitely brought you the localizers coming as I can end it lock blue rockstar speed is managed and we can go on track flat because I know because welcome text alert oh one two forty four three five one four three five four ten that's m14 goodbye took your child the morning of gender seven one for an Lda whiskey two three both have a long rich history continue improving the fuel control at the monthly look at the parking number most under seven one three a parking stand as 1:06 kept flaps one speed check flaps one and loves honest m14 confirm qnh can a food that our men are big tuna seven one four two nine nine and six Thank You Dylan and six you [Music] so 15-mile we will go down at 14.6 insert the three degrees flaps to speed checked flaps to fourteen point six flat pizanno next check out it will be thirty miles with three five ninety thirty mile three five ninety s fine twelve miles three to 70 I can see the airport yeah me too Falmouth reaches 70 is fine gear down Rahway one takes less accuracy of only ponte ponte mentality the great day step 3 that's three left in check so 10 miles to a 6:30 not landing checklist land a autobrake BTB rama condition tri-set he can memo not they're letting go it's way to people the five-seven with you reality living at least I wasn't allowed on the bus except at the 30 hit again we're not gonna make it but after I belong with his absence away so long way yep the way it approaches no system for obviously create from Bennett Evandro at 12:07 one eventually windows written directed waiting increased by 10 I think we can go down slowly in his thoughts hundred above attractive minimum continue once I run we check yep let's check one town so you couldn't lie so yep which is in heaven Angela nice I don't know yep correcting okay 400 yep 300 200 100 70 50 40 30 20 retard fire the mayor -
