Ahsoka - Episode 6 - 1X6 - "Far, Far Away" | REACTION + REVIEW

[Music] foreign what's up Jedi Jive welcome back my name is Mike joining us again is my sister Jenny hey guys we got another Ahsoka reaction coming at you last week's episode five was what I would call tent pole Star Wars that's what I said about uh when Luke Skywalker first showed up in Mandalorian season two yeah that there's just those moments in Star Wars that are like well that's a temple that kind of like is gonna be one of those things that we measure the rest of it by so many people that are friends with that are fans of the Clone Wars got exactly what they always wanted in a live action version of Anakin and Ahsoka and Hayden Christensen got to really shine um and I'm really glad that after all this time that he's finally gotten to show that he really is a good actor and that like maybe he just didn't necessarily get directed the way he could have or the writing wasn't necessarily the best for the prequels or whatever it was he just didn't get the opportunity to really shine like he he could have and now like the fandom is just like fully embraced him and is like he's the greatest so yeah and Dave vellone is definitely like since he's at the helm he's been he's been really to fully to credit for most of this so like Dave filoni please keep going what you're doing we love every aspect of it since they've got gathered so much momentum with last week's episode it just makes sense that like they don't want like I said they don't want to stall yeah they're hoping they don't I would think that there would be like a good opportunity to like show more action keep things going show Balin uh perhaps find thrawn Ezra do something new and fresh and fun that keeps the momentum going already is what I'm I'm at right now any guys we've been having a great time with this and I can't wait to do a reaction so let's Jump Right In and we'll talk about it after let's do it oh well listen listen to the whale song yes oh cool this is ridiculous it's so cool oh my God yo this is like trippy history of the Galaxy one being the best of course house it was the only choice she made for herself tell me one of those stories hmm very well a long time ago oh wow wow dude that's never thought you'd see the day that actually say that line and have it resonate so deeply you find your situation confining a bit we had a deal you promised me I would see Ezra again hmm we had a deal he made a big thing about keeping his word because he said it to shin and he wouldn't [ __ ] with her yep right you still mean to follow through on your promise to her the focus to find Ezra Bridge it blinds her I believe she can still give some use to us hmm whoa [Music] damn why does it have to be a ring if they're not going to get a ship to bring back I I don't know the answer to that I feel like that they must be going for a um the Jedi archive spoke of this what the migration route used by the star whales as they Traverse the void from one Galaxy the death of Mary witches are from the other Galaxy apparently creatures days before time was counted dude yes I don't know if this is Canon already or not but graveyard it's a graveyard the whales came here to die he said this is a graveyard it's like the elephant graveyard in The Lion King don't go beyond the elephant graveyard it's like unreal bones oh my God it's a Pergo graveyard oh my God is it gonna be Ezra it's gonna be thrawn the witches of dathomir came from here traveled on the perguel that must have been a gazillion years ago what what bro dude their CGI is on point too I love shots like that dude oh my goodness this is gonna be some creepy night sister stuff here this is amazing so they're gonna be like death of Mary people here oh my God dude this is so serious right now I'm like this is mind-blowing even oh that ship looks cool too it's beautiful oh my goodness some of these shots are just like look at that like copper ship on that like black obsidian cliff oh yes there's another Edge like the one where they came from dude why there are there's like witches good night sisters are here waiting for them oh the music is so clutch right dude what let's go this is so hot right now dude I can't believe they're doing all this night sister stuff you do our ancestors credit thank you great mother what and you came through where is thrawn you shall wait he is coming of course you know we gotta wait s it reeks it meaning Sabine no I know but I mean like it is dangerous oh it senses that she has Jedi abilities dude oh my goodness this is scary this is kind of scary right now oh my God the sound in the music is happy they will wait in solitude oh my goodness oh my gosh dude these night sisters this is stood screw the force these night sisters are scary man they don't they don't play because this isn't the force this is like magic this is like witch [ __ ] stuff which is awesome it's like a whole nother force on its own the way she could just sense look at these like Space Wolves yes we'll stay polony wow dude this is a gorgeous episode so far it's got tons of like Dune Vibes oh yeah I love the medieval armor that these two wear they really feel like Knights this is a land of dreams and Madness when I was a bit older than you are now I watched everything I knew burn dude oh my God they're like they're people they're not like they're these are people how'd you get older I realize it's all inevitable it repeats again and again and isn't it our turn now hmm that sort of power is fleeting oh she's losting for it though yeah it's the beginning she's going to betray him nah okay they just made her killing him inevitable it seems likely doesn't it and she's gonna when she kills him she's gonna say like or he's gonna say how inevitable it's gonna be like that they just like wrote that story wow Balin is like one of my new favorite characters yeah yeah dude the music in this episode is on another level it's like horror music this is like a horror episode absolutely a horror score right now oh my god dude what straight up Star Destroyer yo post-apocalyptic Star Destroyer that is so sick I don't know what the name of this ship is but it's thrawn yes it's got like pirate pain on it wow this is the one that this is the Star Destroyer that the per Gil took thrawn and Ezra in to this galaxy yeah because they took the whole Star Destroyer with them clearly yeah wow it's got that like Mad Max like re you know uh deconstructed look to it yeah oh my God that looks like a like a Greek like um right doesn't that look like almost Greek dude here he is let's go that looks so sick this is so sick oh let's go oh I got my wish frightening reality for those who may impose us this is Enoch Captain Enoch sner I brought the prisoner and you must be General balance girl of the Jedi Order okay I parted ways with the Jedi long ago you wouldn't have been the first The Prisoner is Sabine Wren now there's a familiar name hmm of great use to us look at this music I know right they're going next level with the with the the audio in general where is Ezra and our latest Intel on British whereabouts so that's it you're just gonna let me walk out of here they want to find Ezra they want to Snuff him out with her okay what's the fate of your Galaxy on that relief you wouldn't understand perhaps not what kind of ride you got around here creatures what okay all right now that's a relative unusual size it's like actually it's kind of cute again kind of wolf-like yeah it's funny that giving her a lightsaber and a blaster and like Ashley wishing her good luck all right so beans going on the solo hunt for Ezra on the back of a giant rat wolf seems normal you may follow it your own pace I thought you were to own it but he sure so being Wren will have the opportunity of finding Ezra Bridge here just as promised hmm you and your master will destroy them both is this just like he for his entertainment he just wants to see some lightsaber action he's like I've been stuck in this other Galaxy for this long I need something fun to watch or is this like all in his plan like what's the end game the mechanism of all this is just like he knows what's going on nice move there's that Mandalorian [ __ ] let's go yes let's go very objective is to escape this galaxy it matters not whether Ren and breach are killed or stranded here the saying can be set for you too Mastery okay he doesn't care absolutely heartless to me oh thank you oh I don't know I kind of want that thing on my side oh come on why are they like getting me emotionally invested in this creature right now are they gonna kill it is that what you're gonna do why am I just kidding like flashbacks art attacks immediately immediately that's where my head went to y'all better not because now we like the thing uh it's a muppet it's like a little hermit crab person [Music] it's the animal behavior thing I guess it's 10 out of 10 in this episode for animal adorableness creature adorableness oh it reminds me of Colonel uh Colonel what's his name colonel gascon yeah it's like a hermit crab take me to your leader yes I was gonna say disaster I was just gonna ask you if Ezra has seen that yeah Ezra do you know Ezra yeah okay there's a whole bunch so it makes sense I feel like this is people are just gonna be half the Internet it's gonna love this half the internet's gonna hate it it's got a very Jim Henson Vibe about it you know yeah it's very like Dark Crystal do you know Ezra Bridger he's my friend yes what okay okay enough already let's go somewhere let's go get Ezra already come on I feel like they how are they gonna separate Sabine in this and this howler now like they feel like they've just bonded them together like but like I said they're making us care for this CGI wolf so that when they kill it we're gonna have our Arts broken he was trained as a Jedi you I train to be something more oh yes the legend of shin grows something stirs here I see Bandits [Music] the enemy of our enemy is our friend for now for now all right I knew I could count on you yes Wow Let's Go [Laughter] all right so he is just chilling with the lobster people [Music] all right now what so many questions you're writing a house how'd that happen in fact how did you find me let's not talk about that not right now I just want to be happy that I found you thanks for coming it seems awfully casual she just literally crossed the void into a different galaxy behind him and he's kind of like he tried to get serious and she was like not right now dude I know both of them though it seems a little casual yeah I'm like the epicness of the situation doesn't seem to be validated another comes a Jedi [Music] in the recently deceased sugar assured me after death not yet he was once again [Laughter] we must regard him as flawed wow thrawn just like Cuts right to it if a Star Wars approaches Meridian destroyed with Predator yo no thrawn's killing the whales yo a dark magic ah yes the thread of Destiny Jesus look at those eyes man look at those eyes the music in this episode was on point next level on next Point such a like horror Vibe for the first majorly the first half of this had that like whoa they're pulling all of the like horror parts of Doom with like the the the magic witch mother type [ __ ] like yeah like and it's just like they had that whole voice changer thing going on with them where you could yeah oh I love that they totally brought in this night's sister stuff because but they've included it in the video games they've actually done it gone into it very heavily in the video game so dathomir it's also like Darth Maul there's so much history there now so um the fact that they've now established that that I don't know if this was Canon before but it's the first I'm hearing of it that the the this other Galaxy and paridia this planet was the original Homeworld of the death Amir witches and they rode to the other Galaxy on Star whales so it's almost like you know panspermia or whatever but like um Galaxy to Galaxy like almost like they the the night sisters and the The Witches of dathomir like seeded the [ __ ] in this galaxy to begin with which is like kind of how I think it worked in the comics with like the yujang vong which is like a different thing altogether but that's kind of how they've got this working out now that like the night sisters and night sister witch magic is like this whole other thing that's not the force and the rules world the vibe of this world sort of uh everything about this world does seem like it's a completely different galaxy it doesn't resemble the Star Wars universe that we're used to in really any way whatsoever dude I loved this episode I I kind of said it right at the beginning where I was like they established so much momentum with that previous episode that it's like they got to kind of do something new and fresh that's really interesting that's going to keep the momentum going because like wow it's hard to follow up last week and boy did they ever because the music and the audio and the like horror Vibe right off the bat was really like oh this is tasty there was only like a little bit of Ahsoka and huyang in the beginning which was a nice little scene that was a beautiful little scene though and he begins to tell her the story The the sort of like knee-jerk reaction that we both had and I'm sure that the entire a long time ago in a galaxy far far away away that was a beautiful moment oh my God I mean it's almost like you know it's just very Serendipity is not the word but it's just very because it wasn't forced and it wasn't like that's cheesy because it fit perfectly and it was very like it just hit it right into place it had the perfect little harmonious little and It just fits in with everything that George Lucas you know sets up as like that hole like it Rhymes it's poetry it's got like a repetitive you know you can tell that's and even Balin was going on and on and on about like what he wants to stop is that cycle that like that never-ending like it like he left the Jedi because he liked it on paper but like in practice it just wasn't working for him like right um bailing that whole scene with balen and shin I was like wow these are people like these it's like it was complex motivations and backstories this guy was a Jedi a three-dimensional character and not just a cardboard villain and he had all of the same reasons to leave the Jedi that Ahsoka Tano did so that brings Miss full circle back to like it was the first couple of episodes where I was like Ahsoka Tano and Bale and skull actually have like a ton in common with each other yeah in terms of of becoming you know like I got they just I'm not for this anymore and they left the Jedi um but he he isn't a bad person at heart those Bandits on the hill Shin was like oh let's kill them and he was like no no we don't there's no need for Bloodshed yeah um he's like for now so it's like he's yeah he's willing he'll kill people if he has to but it's not on his agenda to be a murderer like you know like he's not like Darth Vader who will kill a billion people he'd actually rather not kill people and that complexity is very because if you think about it when he when baylen's gold first showed up on that uh um New Republic ship in the beginning it was the captain that was being a dick to him and he wasn't trying to kill anybody he was just trying to go break Morgan Ellis without but then the guy was like hold up and then Bill and stole so it's like and then if you watch the Ahsoka Tano fight Ahsoka tunnel draws her lightsaber first Ahsoka Tano makes the first move he's just there like I'm participating so he's yeah I love that about bail and skull but they made it seem they sowed the seeds of shin like I said they kind of set it up there to me where she's gonna betrayal she's got a lot of anger issues she mentioned the power and you could see the look in her eyes where she was like come to power yes one thirsty for power take power and I think that you know that's what that's going to be is that she's going to portray her master and kill balance skull and it's going to be that how inevitable situation because yeah he he'll be he'll be proving himself right by getting killed this essentially yeah and it's very like that also rhymes with kind of the way Palpatine like just knew like Vader or Luke was Luke was going to strike down Palpatine or Luke was going to strike down Vader there's always that like that can only be two and like yeah I well I got everything I wanted from this episode I wanted to see the other Galaxy and I wanted them to show us thrawn and I got exactly what I wanted so I am very very happy that's funny because if you went back to the beginning of the season and you were like yo in episode six you get to you they drop thrawn and Ezra in the same episode and it's totally cool loved the character reveals but like almost like the the meat of the episode around it was my favorite part honestly and we didn't really need that much Ahsoka because I was we had said before like the one thing I don't want is like a doctor Pershing episode where we're like oh my God why are we doing like an hour stupid doctor-pershing episodes yeah from the Mandalorian season three so here it's I was just like it's the Ahsoka show but we were all on Balin and thrawn and Sabine finding Ezra I'm ready for that though that's what I was hoping for out of this episode and I'm like I'm thrilled that I got it I also liked the notei that whole sequence had a very Jim Henson High fantasy vibe to me you know it was very different from the normal Star Wars yeah it did I did feel a lot of Star Wars tends to be more technologically advanced world where we have Droids and starships and you know all kinds of technological advancement and places that firmly sort of in that sci-fi category whereas this is a more for lack of a better word a more primitive world you know ruled by more primitive forces like magic yeah those like red Bandit characters almost reminded me of something that would be in like Labyrinth yeah they had a very generous themselves reminded me of like little goblins or something I was like these are such like sort of I have a feeling I'm proud to kind of break the internet a little bit I can see a lot of people being like those were not for me but it's like bro we just had space whales like you want a whole different vibe because you're in a whole different galaxy so there has to be it can't just be a repeat of the same vibe that we're used to it has to be distinct from the Galaxy we know in some way I mean there's only two episodes left in this season and they they haven't really kind of like kept us in the dark about what's happening they've kind of set up the pieces to like so far like where we've expected to go we've kind of gone there and it hasn't been weird or anything so it's like okay they kind of set it up so that like Sabine and Ezra kind of have to go phase uh Balin and shin and thrawn already knows that and it was almost like this was so uncharactive for him would they make it seem like he's just like so like he's plotting everything and thinks like 14 steps ahead of everyone else and is always just like so strategic with everything that he does and says that he like like he's moving these pieces around nobody on the board knows that thrawn is actually in control of all of this like he at the at the end of this like don't be surprised if thrawn just like screws everybody over Morgan elspeth was like a puppy dog just like please begging for his approval when she made him happy like she was just like so up about it and then the second he was like oh so ahsokas is still alive huh she was like a tail between her legs um so she just now she's it's just like Morgan ellisbeth is like all she wants is thrawn's approval so it just seems like thrawn's just doesn't care about it he's whenever his end is he's whatever means he needs he's gonna make it happen this character Enoch the like it's almost got like a captain phasma Vibe but like it's a dude with the gold mask I said it reminded me of the do you remember in like Time Bandits I was literally Vietnam Prime Bandits has he has a gold it reminded me like he's thinking of time man yes like I knew in my head exactly where your head was going so I liked that that was that was a different vibe they didn't necessarily show if that guy had any other than just a cool gold mask okay he looks cool like a new toy he's like the captain new toy for them to sell yeah Captain phasma yeah is he gonna be consequential or is he just gonna get dusted up by whoever like right it would be cool if he has like his own like really cool like speeder or chip or something special howler wolf that it's just his that's like 10 times bigger than the other ones or whatever like it'd be cool if he has that that gives him a little bit of an extra um there's always that token like Commander character that's kind of like well you know he's not gonna you know they'll kill him eventually he just kind of looks cool so far he doesn't seem to be a character of great consequence but it was cool looking yeah for sure I immediately like when they started giving you the emotional like like making us care for that howler character with Sabine and you and I were both like our text like I'm just getting that like ah they're just setting this wolf where my head went straight to because now like for me the inevitable scenes are either like Sabine having to part ways of the wolf or whatever and that'll be sad or it'll die and that'll be really sad and or like because it felt like she was bonded to that thing in a way now where it was like her pet like or it's like do you see Sabine like separating from this wolf now she's gonna have to at some point it seems like she's gonna be like no like you know primary Galaxy he wants to come with us right I don't know he was a little big and but it was just like they made him seem like loyal to her he has a cat at home how did she get like an immediate loyalty from it like that because even Ezra was like how'd you get you're writing yeah yeah so like that could be another one of those another sign that she's like actually special and she you know she doubts herself I trust the witches The Witches were like Jedi yeah dude like it reeks so they could tell she has some sort of power and even if she doesn't know it herself she clearly does because things are happening for her yeah and they've been teasing it though you know she tried to move the little teacup or whatever and like she has yeah it's all just one of those The Witches sends it the wolf senses it I don't know she was able to fight Shin who's a trained oh which is another thing in this episode but for something more I love that Bale and ginseng and how much deeper it made those characters look it made like I said unfortunately at the end of The Scene It kind of made me feel like ah okay Shin is good it's gonna go outside she is gonna go bad like I actually mentioned one point where I was like I'd love to see shin and Sabine get like reluctantly forced into a situation where they have to cooperate I don't think it's incredibly likely because I think shins we've seen that enemy mind situation before actually it was in Rebels where Zeb and uh kallus who was working for the Empire got stuck in like a in a like you know cave together and had to like work together to get out and it was very like and that enemy mind situation where like the tilling otherwise they'd be trying to kill each other but now they're like forced to have to cooperate and it kind of makes them realize like wait why are we fighting why are why are our two sides at War like we're brothers like I feel like the dynamic that's been set up though is not that she's getting she's not gonna be somebody who's like we're you know we're sisters or something like that she seems like she really is very angry and very lustful for power and yeah although thinking of Zeb that just reminded now that we're kind of in this other Galaxy it does kind of seem like we're gonna be here now because everybody's here except for Hera and Jason who don't necessarily need to be brought back into the fold just yet but it seems like like I said I was right it seemed like that ring was there for a reason they want to take thrawn's ship thrawn wants to be able to put his ship on in that ring and then go back to the other Galaxy man he didn't seem like he wanted any like if you if it was just him on that ship he'd be cool with it yeah and like I said it might it seems like he might even get what he wants like ruthless I can see season two of Ahsoka happening and thrawn being it like you know basically winning this season even though it's like a soccer season yeah yeah um but seven and eight I'm assuming are gonna be kind of like hopefully like a like a Sprint to the end finale kind of situation um this show this episode really did it for me man yeah this was phenomenal this was everything I wanted and more despite it actually had the best episode uh the best music and the music was Next Level it really was the music was so effective also like that whole beginning sequence of like just like getting there where the the whales where you could see that like rainbow like kind of just trippy like yeah great imagery it made me think of one of those like like you said dolphin posters from the 90s where there's like fantasies yeah there was that like gold copper ship sitting on that like obsidian cliff and it was just really like whoa cool this is yeah night sisters immediately like yes this is so fresh this is so good and anybody that hasn't played the video games might be kind of like whoa this is in Star Wars what this is kind of well I know exactly but oh yeah I know play the video games and I totally understand that it's a complete complete Vibe shift but like I keep saying I think that was necessary in this situation yeah and I also love that they showed that she called the mother there was like three of them the great mothers the great mothers so it was very like oh there's this like hierarchy of like witch power too yeah like even Morgan ellisbeth is just like a worker bee yeah she's nothing compared to you know these mothers were able to like the force it reeks of Jedi they did say that that was potentially a threat to them yeah she's it's that's why they wanted it so it's like okay they're at least they're smart they acknowledge that the Jedi are like potentially a threat but like that was to show you that like they This Witch power is like right on par with Jedi force stuff like magic what do you think like Matt like I mean a lot of times the force seems like magic but like they can resurrect people they can they we've seen this stuff we've seen them give Darth Maul new legs so I mean like that seems like crazy but man loving it great episode guys guys let us know what you thought about this episode in the
