hey everybody welcome back hey today i have for you an agatha christie book haul um i have loved agatha christie since i was probably in middle school i started to read her and there was a big gap where i didn't read any of her books for a long long time and started getting back into them a little bit probably four or five years ago and really got um motivated to start to collect her books some more as i've been reading more of them so there's one particular cover series that i really like is from william maro the paperbacks they have so i'm trying to collect all of those books in the william our paperback edition so i'm you know scouring the internet watching for them as they pop up because she has so many books she's such a prolific author that to find them all is difficult so i've been finding them little by little and i've got a nice collection here that i want to start to share with you so i can put them on my shelf up here with the other agatha christie's that i already have in that edition although i probably won't buy midwinter murder in that edition because i just love this one so much it's so pretty all right so let's get into the books i have i have two right now that are miss marble one of them is a pocket full of rye and in this one miss marple is let's see i'll just redo the back because i don't really know a lot about them i haven't read these ones yet right rex fortiscue king of a financial empire was sipping tina's counting house when he suffered an agonizing and sudden death on later inspection the pockets of the deceased were found to contain traces of cereals yet it was the incident in the parlor which confirmed miss marple's suspicion that here she was looking at a case of crime by rhyme and i noticed that a lot of her books kind of start with part of a rhyme and i have several of them here today so a pocket full of rye william edition usually has this little tab at the top that tells who the detective is and i just like the look of these the other miss marple i have is actually the collection of all the short stories that contain miss marple and you know everything that's written about her and saint mary mead is in this one as far as short stories so it's nice to have them all in one collection although i do have some other short story anthologies that i'm sure these some of these will appear in other books as well and that's okay sometimes you know it's nice to have just miss marbles sometimes it's nice to have a mix up of multiple detectives next i have some poirot books and continuing that nursery rhyme theme one two buckle my shoe is the name of this one and then this one oh yeah this is the dentist one poirot doesn't like to go to the dentist so he's you know not really looking forward to his visit but he goes to the dentist has his procedure and then later in the day finds himself back there again to solve the mystery of who murdered the dentist who had just worked on him that morning so i think that one sounds great hickory dickory dock also a poirot book i don't know much about this one either perro doesn't need all his detective skills to realize something is troubling his secretary miss lemon she has made three mistakes in a simple letter it seems an outbreak of kleptomania at the student hostel at which her sister works is distracting his usually efficient assistant deciding that desperate times call for desperate measures the great detective agrees to investigate unknown to poirot however desperation is a motive he shares with the killer any of you have this problem with glasses you have to put them on take them off put them on take them off i have bifocals but i still have to put them on take them off so sorry about that my next plural book is called three act tragedy and again i don't know a lot about this one sure sir charles cartwright should have known better than to allow 13 guests to sit down for dinner at the end of the evening one of them is dead choked by a cocktail that contained no trace of poison predictable says hercule poirot the great detective but entirely unpredictable is that he can find absolutely no motive for the murder so how do you solve a murder that there's no apparent murder motive for boy i can't talk this morning this poirot i know is the very last novel written about poirot by agatha christie it's called curtain and all i know about this one for sure is that poirot ends up in the same setting that he was in in his very first story so he's kind of come full circle and his stories finish up there i don't know anything about this i i heard you know a little speculation about does he die in this one i don't have i stopped reading about it right then because i didn't want anything spoiled if that happens i'm gonna have a hard time waiting to read this one because i feel like i need to read things in order that's just who i am that would mean this one will be last it's gonna be hard to wait i have a tommy and tuppins next i had never read anything about tommy and tuppence until i read the midwinter murders book this december this past december this one's called the secret adversary it's thicker than a lot of agatha christie's books also so i enjoyed the short story i read about tommy and tuppin so i was kind of excited to get a hold of this one although i have heard that you should read the tommy tuppence ones in order which isn't a problem for me since i you know kind of have to do that anyway just for myself this one is oh this is the first tommy and tuppence tommy and tuppins are flat broke and out of work restless for excitement they decide to embark on a daring business scheme young adventure is limited willing to do anything go anywhere but they get more than they bargained for when their first assignment for the sinister mr whittington draws them into a diabolical conspiracy it isn't long before they find themselves plunged into more danger than they ever could have imagined a danger that could put an abrupt end to their business and their lives oh that one sounds really good i think i'll be checking this one out pretty soon tort zero is about one of christie's lesser known main character superintendent battle i believe he initially appears in maybe one of the tommy and tuppence books first and then she has some books where he is the person that we're following um i'm pretty sure it's tommy and tuppence he first appears in so this is one of the superintendent battle books i've never read anything about him so looking forward to seeing what this one has to offer and it looks like maybe it has to do with tennis in some way parker pine investigates is another one of christie's well less well-known main characters and i also believe parker pine shows up in a story maybe a pro poirot boy that is hard to say poirot story at some point i think that's where parker pine initially starts from and i like i just had a little blurb here and i thought oh that sounds good mrs packington's life changed when she stumbled upon an advertisement in the times that read are you happy if not consult mr parker pine okay that sounds interesting i'm looking forward to trying this one out and then i have a couple of short story collections here one is three blind mice and other stories this one has some poirot has some miss marple um blinding snowstorm homicidal maniac traps a small party of friends in an isolated estate out of this deceptively simple setup agatha christie fashioned one of her most ingenious puzzlers sounds really good and then i have destination unknown which is again is this one oh no i don't think this one is a series of short stories previously published as so many steps to death when a number of leading scientists disappear without a trace concerned girls within the international intelligence community and one woman who appears to hold the key to the mystery is dying from injuries sustained in a plane crash meanwhile in a casablanca hotel room hillary craven prepares to take her own life but her suicide attempt is about to be interrupted by a man who will offer her an altogether more thrilling way to die so this is not short stories i'm not sure who we're following in this one if it's just you know someone that this is just a standalone or if it's someone who is in other books or not um if you know maybe you can let me know down below hey everybody i guess this is going to be part two of my agatha christie haul i wasn't sure if the rest of my books were going to come in in time to do this or not but they have so i have 25 more i get the christy books here to share with you and i'm not going to go into detail about what they're about because honestly i don't know what most of them are about yet and i don't want this video to get too long i already have part one where i talked about what some of those books are about so for these ones if you've read any of them let me know how you felt about them like didn't like should read soon let me know what you think i'm going to start with some of the short story collections and i'm trying to collect all of these in the same william morrow edition i love these covers and i'm i'm getting close i have quite a few of them now i believe i probably need i don't know between 15 and 20 more to have all of her books so i'm excited to be getting close first i have the witness for the prosecution and other stories this is a short story collection i have the regatta mystery and other stories this one is thick i have the last seance tales of the supernatural this one is much thicker than any of the others that i've seen that looks like it's going to be a creepy one and maybe i'll hang on to that one for october and then the last short story collection i have here is called double sin and other stories i have a couple of standalone novels here and then i have a couple of um lesser known characters from agatha christie death comes as the end is one of the standalones the citaferd mystery is another standalone and i believe this was published at one time under another name i can't remember off the top of my head what it was but instead of her mystery sometimes known as something else that i can't remember i have one harley quinn the mysterious mr quinn i've not read any harley quinn so i'm interested to see how i feel about him as a character and then i have two of the tommy and tuffins and this one is postern of fate i like the color of that cover that bright green is pretty and then i have partners in crime is also a tommy and tuppence i read a short story about them in december in the midwinter murder book and i really liked it so i think i'm going to like them as characters although i've not read a novel about them yet all right let's take a look at some miss marple i have four miss marples here one is a murder is announced again i really don't know what any of these are about yet i like the cover on this one nemesis i think that's pretty a caribbean mystery and the last miss marple i have is 450 from paddington i might try to read this one in march for march mystery madness i know one of the prompts is time so this would be a perfect one for that and then all the rest of these are poirot books and there are a lot of them i have lord edgware dies i have the big four next i have peril at end house i like the cover on this one too it looks like it's kind of creepy the hollow this is another pretty thick one after the funeral appointment with death and now that i'm looking at this next one i think it's a collection of short stories also but they're all about poirot yeah the labors of hercules story collection taken at the flood i really like this cover too it's called elephants can remember pretty oh i like this cover too some of these are really pretty sad cypress those flowers are really pretty murder in the muse looks like a travel story in some way oh here's another short story collection the underdog and other stories but they are all about poirot so i am doing great on getting that collection together i've been scouring everywhere i could find them i just want to collect them while i can get this edition because i just hate when i have almost everything in one edition and then the only thing i can find is something that doesn't match it really bothers me when i see that on my shelf i think these will look really nice together and i am really looking forward to getting into probably several of them in march mystery madness and i hope you're having a great day today it's just kind of a hot cocoa kind of day here as my sweatshirt says in a ponytail day and a good day to do some reading which i think i'm going to go do right now happy reading everybody i will see you [Music] soon
