While the main focus of my trip to  Sacramento earlier this year was to   see Brightline’s newest train, BrightRed,  I also spent some time looking at some   of the other equipment being built by  Siemens and stored around the factory. Located in Sacramento, California,   the Siemens Rolling Stock factory  manufactures locomotives, passenger cars,   light rail vehicles, and streetcars for  numerous entities across North America. Siemens Factory has numerous buildings each  with a different role in building the different   pieces of equipment. A short test track runs  along the back side of the factory here. In the southwest corner of the facility here,   S700 light rail vehicles for Seattle’s  Sound Transit were being stored. Sitting outside the building where the locomotive  engines are tested are two future Amtrak ALC42   locomotives. These locomotives will soon become  the backbone of Amtrak’s long distance fleet. A Brightline SCB40 locomotive is behind them.   Right behind the Brightline locomotive  is a San Francisco Muni S200 streetcar. On the other side of the test building is another  Amtrak ALC42 with a partially finished paint job. Between these two buildings are parts  for several cars under construction. To move equipment around the factory,  Siemens uses this rubber tired transporter.   A light rail vehicle for  San Francisco is on it here. On some storage tracks between the buildings,  some more cars are stored. These blue and   Orange cars on the track facing us are for the  future OC Streetcar in Santa Ana, California. Parked on the test track are more  vehicles for Seattle’s Sound Transit.   On the track behind them are  cars for San Francisco’s Muni. Also on that track are three  venture coaches for Amtrak Midwest. And here is a quick look  at Brightline’s BrightRed.   To see what this train looks like on the  inside, check out my video linked above. Here is a Union Pacific manifest freight  passing by on the Fresno Subdivision. On this end of the facility are pieces  of equipment that are at various stages   of completion. Here is a Via Rail cab car,  Amtrak ALC42, and an Amtrak Midwest Coach. At the front of the facility there  is another lot with equipment stored.   I can see equipment for Sound  Transit, the OC Streetcar,   Brightline, Amtrak, and Minneapolis’s  Metro, and Via Rail Canada. Heres a another look at those Sound  Transit cars on the test track. This is a another future cab  car for Via Rail in Canada. The unfinished coaches lined up here are a  mix between Brightline, Amtrak, and Via Rail.   There are also locomotive  shells for Amtrak and Via Rail. We’ll finish with one more  manifest freight passing by. Thanks for watching! Be sure to  hit the like button and subscribe!   Also check out my social media pages.
