Adaptive Headlights Failure BMW e70 x5

[Music] ah that deep headlight failure i have here a beautiful bmw 17 it's an x5 and on this car i have this annoying message in the instrument cluster about the other headlight failures so today i need to diagnose the car and eventually to repair it my next step in repairing this car is to scan the car to see what errors we have and to connect with the car from what i see i have some errors no message trailer not interested communication with step motor controller on the left not present communication with stepper motor on the right present so i think we have a problem with the headlight on the right side of the car uh what we have here aerial bumper for comfort access central locking drive rear window and some communication errors because of the drive module but i'm not interested in them the controller for the step motor for the right headlight it's inside of the headlight now if i have seen that the communication is disturbed with this controller my next step is to remove the headlight from the car to inspect it to remove this headlight from the car i need to remove the wheel arch before i will start to disassemble the car i need to check to see if i have this type of clips because these clips are one time use only and you can already see here the talent have tormented someone they have used some screws have done some improvisation and you can see they are very ugly there you have it these are the clips i'll remove the wheel uh from here i need to remove the screws all the screws and remove this plastic clips and this plastic clips and to push inside the center part and i have couple more screws here and now i think i'm able to remove this wheel arch and you can see here this is the headlight first i will remove the plug to see if something wrong is here oh no bueno can see it the peanuts melted no bueno not good and from what i see inside here this pin is missing not good in this case i need to buy a brand new headlight and to replace the plug but i won't buy a new headlight and in this case i will repair it to remove this headlight i have four screws and i need to remove this relay for the fan to move this really i need to remove this screws these one nuts this side and after that i need to remove the bracket this here is no bueno i will repair it at the end now for the headlight to remove the headlight i have that screw from there and this long one i have this screw from here this one i have this screw from here this one from here and this screw from here and remove this bracket from here let's have a screw here one here and one up there i need to remove these three screws from here from the fender and this one from here something like that and i need to put my special tool under the fender and now i need to remove this bracket from here something like that and now i'm able to remove the headlight and the headlight is removed now i will remove the dust from this headlight because i need to remove the cover inside this headlight it's looking very good okay i have to remove the controller to inspect it under controller it's in mint condition so the only problem of this headlight is this plug i think water has managed to enter inside of this plug maybe someone have removed the plug and not plug it back correctly but now at this moment i need to replace this plug or at least replace the pins from this plug i need to remove the plug something like that but i need to remove the cenon igniter the high voltage ballast to have more wire to remove this plug i need to release this two tabs something like that i have some access but i need a little more access so i need to remove this plug nice these three pins are affected but this one the pin from inside here is missing completely these two pins are okay are clean these two are a little bit affected so i will remove the pin from here first it's dead from what i remember i think i have the complete wiring from that headlight i think this one but no this is for an f10 oh look at here i have it here and even the plug from the car perfect okay now my plan is to is to replace this pin from here i need to remove it from the donor plug now i need to remove the pin from this plug next from this plug perfect this pin is green i don't like it i will replace it perfect now i will check this one yeah it's green also perfect and this black one the last one i think it's affected also because i cannot remove it from here yeah it's green but on this one i'm not able to replace the entire wire because this wire is for the turn signal and i'm not able to remove the pins from here so on this one i will cut the wire like so so i'm greasing the seal i'm using normal grease because in the moment when i will close this cap the seal will slide perfectly where it's supposed to be with this seal the same same treatment some grease and here the same treatment and at this moment this headlight is repaired now i need to repair the plug from the car okay first step is to replace the case because it's destroyed [Music] i have a brand new one here and one by one i will start to move the pins this is the first one go here this is looking good and this one it's destroyed no i'm not able to remove it from the plug so i need to cut it so for the moment i will plug the headlight back i will put one screw to keep the headlight in the position i'll plug back this relay and i'll do a test okay switch on the ignition delete fault memories switch off the ignition switch on the ignition and no more errors only one error about the ahm the trailer module but i'm not interested in that error but the frame is free of errors the light module let's make a test now i'll move the headlight bottom left bottom right top left top right bottom left yeah it's working perfectly nice uh okay everything is in its place everything is perfect now i will mount back the wheel arch and finally last screws on this car okay let's make the last test and no more errors no faults the headlights are moving perfect finally this car is repaired everything is working perfectly no more errors on the light module i have only one error on the gearbox but that is about the toe hitch and that is not my business was a little bit of work for one core of the pin but the end result is amazing if you like my work if you like these videos show me by hitting the like
