[Music] [Music] tell me uh I got a letter what kind of a letter an interesting letter Oh like a letter letter yeah what does it say so you know how I applied to a couple universities for the music programs yes and this is a letter from UBC that's where I'm going they have an excellent music program they do so so this letter says that I didn't get in ah they don't deserve you I love your music Thanks actually that letter came last month but today I got this letter what is it this is from the University of Toronto and they accepted me oh my god that's so cool Congrats Thanks so does this mean you're going yeah I think so I guess I mean I haven't accepted yet I just got it today well you should probably go yeah yeah my parents and I talked about it and it's a dream come true but it's a little weird you know like we don't know what school is gonna look like for the next year and well not sure I want to leave town yet because because of what's here what nothing what it's nothing just tell me I don't want to why cuz because why because I'm not thinking good what does that mean that I don't like what I'm thinking what are you thinking I already told you that I don't want to say I was thinking that I don't want you to go yeah Sam but I don't like what I'm thinking why not cuz it's selfish and I don't like being selfish how is it selfish cuz I'd rather you stay here and be with me then go follow your dreams and don't say that I'm your dream or something cringy like that you need to do this ah you're making this really hard on me I shouldn't factor into your decision but you do but I shouldn't why not because didn't your mother ever tell you don't throw your life away for a girl isn't that a country song or something you think I'd be throwing my life away isn't this your dream haven't you been thinking about this your entire life I've been thinking about a lot of things my entire life don't you think if there's ever a year to take some time off it would be now at least until there's a vaccine and and life can get back to normal well I'm not gonna help you talk your way out of this I'm just trying to be realistic you are my uncle told me one time what that he always want to be a doctor but that was his dream and you know he was really smart it smart enough to be a doctor and so after high school he was gonna go to university but he got a job during the summer working for a bank you know it paid pretty good and and he liked having the money and then he met my aunt and life was good and you know where he works now we're at a bank almost 25 years later he supports his family and all that but it wasn't his dream don't have regrets this opportunity might be once in a lifetime and you're not am I I don't want to have regrets you need to think straight I can't that's what you do to me what does that tell you but that you're crazy maybe well I can't tell you what you should do I just don't want to be someone that holds you back what did you decide so I talked to my parents yeah and the school ok and we talked for a long time we think this is the best decision for right now so are you going or not going I'm deferring deferring yeah so so I'm still accepted I'm still going but I'm going next year instead of this year so is this final yeah pretty much okay so so so what do you think I don't know what do you mean you don't know I'm gonna be here and my music dream still there for me that's good right yeah it's good are you gonna be on campus next year I'll still live at home we'll be close yeah and when quarantine is over we can see each other whenever we want yeah I know a really good piece of place good yeah it'll be good so what are you gonna do I mean if you're not going to Toronto I don't know probably work my dad has a friend who owns a restaurant and he says I can work for him and I'll get to play guitar on weekends so should be good money once they open up again what if we weren't going out then what would you do you mean for next year yeah I don't know probably go to Toronto what nothing what nothing what's the matter I don't think we should see each other anymore what if the world had more of your swamp what if the wind could spread your love maybe the Sun will spread your toy to the ones who lost hope [Music]
