[Music] hi friends I'm on the move once again and today I'm in to target New York now back in 1777 during the American Revolutionary War the Battle of Setauket took place on these very grounds right here but today I've come here to look at Abraham Woodhull final resting place now Abraham was a leading member of George Washington's culper spy ring during the American Revolutionary War now the culper spy ring was a very successful operation it provided George Washington with a lot of information about the British Army's plans and operations not just recently within the past few years the culper spy ring has gained a lot of interest and mostly due to AMC's television show called turn now this is the Setauket Presbyterian Church and burial ground and in these very grounds abraham breath and let's see if we can find them many of the talk about and families are buried here and this church is also on the National Register of Historic Places ah [Music] man that's sad to see okay friends it took a few minutes of walking around the cemetery fine Abraham but I found him he's laid to rest right here in memory of Abraham Woodhull Esquire who died January 23rd 1826 in his 76th year of his age now in 1931 the Woodhull homestead was destroyed in a fire and the bricks from the homes foundation were used to make this memorial that the Daughters of the American Revolution put together for him they had this nice plaque made but you see it's basically tells Abraham's story I love seeing this memorial Abraham you are not forgotten you are a known part of American history thank you for being so brave for myself being really into history and being really into American history this is it's overwhelming actually there's a real patriot right here we all Abraham a lot each American owes this man a great amount of respect [Music] this this was really really neat an honor to be to be here so much history here in Setauket now across the street is another church that was built in 1729 this is the Caroline Church now in 1936 a bullet from the Battle of Setauket is found embedded in the church wall inside the church is a plaque with the bullet that you can view this church is the second oldest Episcopal Church and continuous use in the entire u.s. well rise that's about it I hope you enjoyed this brief little history tour here in Setauket I'll see everyone in another video real soon until then take care and bye bye [Music]
