[Music] on the evening of good friday april the 14th 1865 president duncan and his friends were present at the performance accords theater i sat in the orchestra nearly beneath the box occupied by the president the first two acts passed out presently and the curtain rules for the threat and left act few if any words we spoke on the stage and they heard the shark report of an obama i looked toward the placements the sound came and saw boots climbing over the rail in front of the box and jumped to the stage a few feet to his right when he struck the stage he kind of stabbed him raising his right hand holding the knife he said shake supper tyrannis and run to the rear of the stage and escaped through an area the audience around me now were outstanding it appeared to be shocked not much talk going on presently the audience moved out when i reached the exit there was a large crowd in the street i've gone running across the street and got on the porch and the house directly operated in a little while the person would side into the house and i stepped one side that he might enter the crowd was still very noisy i ran to the avenue and took the car and left for home the next day president duncan died in the house where he was tired if you'd like to learn more about the assassination of president abraham lincoln there are links in the video description below if you enjoyed today's video and would like to see more content like this be sure to like subscribe and ring the notification bell to stay up to date with the latest bird dog content
