hello how are you marking hooli here today I would like to show you a trick to memorize and connect the patterns of the pentatonic scale yes the five patterns of the minor pentatonic scale yes actually this system works for any of the scales or patterns you want to play you know I mean I don't know major scale minor scale doesn't matter with scale you can follow the same concept or you can apply the same concept and use it in in in many different scales yeah so this is the here we have the five patterns minor pentatonic scale pretty easy by position five or pattern number five with the root yeah in this case it's these five boxes or patterns or positions are in the key of a so that's why the fifth fret here it's it's a root yes so this is the position five remember we play when we play the minor pentatonic scale in the key of a we are playing the notes a C D E and G here yeah at the top you can say a C D E and G so the idea it's to play as as much possible these notes all along the neck through all the neck yes actually this it's these five patterns is there is a minor pentatonic scale each is just one scale that we only divide this scale in five positions or boxes just to study easier you know them so so position five position one same root we share the root it's in the key a fifth fret we have position to the here the root is little tricky but well it's an a yeah it's not in the fix or in the fifth string the root is in the fourth string next here I have an arrow here this is not the root root is here yes sorry my bad good here position three yes and position four and then position five again position one yeah it's it's up to you as much time as possible you you play the the boxes here so okay I am pretty sure you use a lot this position which is position number one but remember we play same notes it doesn't matter which position are we using we are playing always the same five notes so that means we repeat notes and we repeat concepts all the time here so what I did just one detail take in mind we are using fingers one for example in this position 5 1 & 3 1 3 1 4 1 4 1 3 1 3 position 1 1 4 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 4 1 4 same 1 3 1 4 so we are using 1 3 or 1 for yes we have two old options of finger in here it doesn't matter if you then you change your fingers because sometimes this one for it's easier to play with 1 3 but anyway we just keep the concept 1 4 or 1 3 so the first thing I'm I did yes to understand these was to divide all these notes and try to find a pattern here yes so the first pattern I found was this all the one for yes I used the I would call it the zone number one which are the notes a G a c e g AC so if you pay attention I take all the one for fingerings yes we are playing the same notes that means it doesn't matter in which of these five boxes you play this zone it will sound the same notes yes here you can watch a sample oh this is the zone number one the blue one yes in in the five positions of the minor pentascale so this is put in the key of a box number one box number two position number two [Music] [Laughter] [Music] yes signal so we have the first zone yet the first area yes we repeat all the time he doesn't matter in which of the five positions so let's go now for further and let's take another two notes four notes yes another block another zone which is these is the pin one so it doesn't matter position one position to position three position for yeah you play same zone same same notes yes so you can try it you can hear it yeah and this is a sample of zone number two this is the zone number two and the PDF it's in pink color so position five always in the QA [Music] [Applause] I can't play no more frets in it so this is the zone number two so the question sometimes is why here is ping well because it's the same note if we will have one more string I mean if you have a seven strings guitar and the string is here we will repeat the pattern yet at the zone but here we have six strings so everything happens in string number six we repeat in string number one yeah so because it's an open E open e yes here so try it and you will see you will play the same notes and now the next zone which is zone number three yeah it's just a group of two notes not four in this case yes well same stuff same thing you play this same group same color let's say same sound because we play the same notes one detail here in the zone number three which is the orange we can find the Blue Note Blue Note it's always in orange yeah in this group of note B which are D and E yeah in this case because we are playing the key of a so and well the sample yes of so number three and a zone number three to your ranch it's just to note and blue note in between of that to note so position five five positions of the minor pentatonic scale I play this zone number three years so we have this now if we put all together one next to the other one the five boxes of the minor pentatonic scale and we use the three zones the three colors group we can find this pattern yes that means same remember same color same group of notes so try to play dive beat using the color sequence yes if you are playing here let's say in the this blue you know you have this group after and you have these and look this interesting at in in you can find the colors in a diagonal way yeah look this maybe it will help you to remember yes you can find look here pink pink pink yes blue blue in diagonal yeah orange orange orange yes so this is this was because I used this concept when I start playing when I when I start studying blues and you know playing the pentatonic scale now after you practice and practice you will forget the color patterns you will just play you know this is just only a trigger to to find a path or a way to remember and connect the five boxes yes actually we are we are able to play the pentatonic scale in this way I mean up down or along the neck you know you have the same zones yeah blue orange pink orange you know always blue orange yeah so I will show you a sample how I use this concept and well thank you very much I hope these help to understand the the concept yeah so thank you very much you can find the PDF here in the video description to download all these patterns thanks Martin hurry
