Also.... I have only spent 3 days on the trail in my life we hiked from NOC to Cheoah Bald. Never hiked before in my life and brought way too much stuff w me so it took 2 days to get up there. We spent the other nights up on the bald. Awesome awesome awesome sunsets and sunrises!!! Naturally it took less than 4 hours to run down back to the NOC. We weren't really aware of the steepness of the climb but I had seen a YouTube video of the bald and was hooked. Then to find out my gfs dads mountain home is 20 miles away from the NOC. No brainier we had to go ASAP. (DYING TO DO MORE).
Never used the shelters on that trip for sleeping but did for water, had a lunch, and potty time! Knowing they are about every 10 miles makes me feel like anybody could take this challenge on and succeed as well as have an amazing life changing experience and feel slightly safer doing so. I love seeing everyone's videos and all the shelters they film (and not just on the AT).
I've been subbed to Sintax77 for a few years and he makes some really good trip videos.
