That’s why the Government introduced the Subclass 482 visa so that the employers can invite skilled professionals to Australia. Subclass 482 visa has three main streams No.1 Short stream,... no.2 Medium stream and no.3 is labor agreement stream. Let’s discuss the short term stream first. A short term stream has a validity period of 2 years. There are various different requirements of this visa. No.1 requirement is… your occupation must be listed in the short term skills occupation list. Secondly, the very good thing about this visa is that there is no age limit to apply. Thirdly, you must have relevant work experience in your designated occupation. Moreover, your qualifications must align with your occupation. There are occupations that mandate the requirement of positive skills assessment. One more important thing here is that you have to write a GTE statement. GTE refers to a Genuine Temporary Entrant statement. It’s similar to a statement of purpose (SOP). To meet the English language requirements, you need an overall 5 band in IELTS, and no less than 4.5. In case of PTE, you need to score overall 36 points and no less than 30 points. Moreover, the most important aspect is you need sponsorship. Sponsorship means an employer will nominate you for that particular job. The cost of this visa is around AUD$ 1,445. Medium term stream. There are no such major differences between medium term stream and short term stream. They are slightly different. The major difference is that for medium stream, your occupation must fall in the medium to long term occupation list or in regional occupation list. One other major difference is that this visa is valid for up to four years. The English requirement for this visa is that, For IELTS, you need at least 5 bands overall with no band less than 5. In case of PTE, you need at least an overall score of 36 points, no band less than 36 points. Cost of the medium term stream is AUD$ 3,035. Labor Agreement stream. Labor agreement stream and mid term stream have many similarities. Similarities like both have the same validity period of four years. Visa cost for both streams is AUD$ 3,035. The major difference between medium and labor stream is that there is no specific occupation in labor agreement stream. It depends on the employer which occupation he will nominate. If the employer nominates, he will need to make an agreement with the Australian Government. Labor agreements are of four types; no.1 is Designated area migration agreement, no.2 is company specific agreement… No. 3 is industry specific and lastly is project agreement.
