A SHOCKING REVELATION FOR OUR VAN LIFE FAMILY

nearly 12 months ago we did something crazy and bought an old delivery Lorry from a Mercedes Breakers yard in Manchester we bought Lorry with the sole purpose of transforming it into our new family home for us and our three kids we put our absolute Blood Sweat and Tears into this project with some highs and some lows and after 16 long weeks we were finally ready to hit the road not doing things by half we drove our Lorry home from the UK all the way to the Sahara desert in Morocco but now we're back in the UK and life is looking a little bit [Music] different so I'm on the early shift with Rosie I'm just sat on the floor because if I sit on the bed she'll create and want to go off from the bed and Teddy and Rick I was going to say Daddy it is Daddy Teddy and Rick are still asleep on the bed so she'll wake them up Teddy is supposed to sleep in his own bed but every night at some point he comes running along and we'll jump into hours for snuggles hello my baby [Music] The Crying [Music] Pan not ready yet not not ready it's panc [Music] [Music] cheese so that's the only problem with having the sort of bed that also pops up into the table is that obviously Rick wants to lie in a little bit this morning he's feeling under the weather he isn't just being lazy um but obviously then we can't have um breakfast around the table the kids kind of just have to dot around but oh look at Rosie look at this she's desperate to see Daddy she's just discovered how to climb up on the bed but sometimes she makes it sometimes she doesn't here we are we'll see if this tempts him out of bed got your papa I need a cup of tea how are you feeling all right is my nose is congested do you think it's hay or cold no it's cold is it oh dear it's Teddy Teddy gave me his cold man flu incoming yeah absolutely that means I need biscuits for my tea breakfast in bed oh lovely Rosie is desperate to come and say Alone come on rosie come daddy don't spill his tea hello come on up here good girl hello different because we are going to be giving you guys a bit more of an insight into what it's actually like living inside the Lorry so pretty much A Day in the Life Style video from us this week yeah so there's not really anything there's no such thing really as an average day for us because all depends where we where we are what we're doing and all that sort of stuff but we're going to show you what real life looks like for us on what is maybe sort of an aage day just parked up here in the UK so we still got loads to do uh chores uh some maintenance bits and pieces and I think yeah the kids are just kids are outside screaming that is average that is definitely average uh and we're also going to take little lady here out for a walk in nature lately so that'll be decent yeah it would be nice this should just be a nice chilled relaxed fun family day yeah [Music] making these Leaf Creations this on I stick this on I know tell everyone what's happened what have we run out of I I have one going STI this on we've run out of glue our glue sticks all done and I just found three old ones but they're that old they're all dried up so going to need to buy some more so I'm desperate for a shower this morning but I've just looked at the water and we are running low so we're only on one bar of water which isn't enough for me to have a shower so I've asked Rick if he'll go and fill us up how long's that going to take number three so yeah doing it by watering can not going to move the truck yeah it takes a bit of time but it's better than moving the Lorry just a short distance to uh fill up with water so I'll do about five or six with the watering can 10 lit so I'll put maybe 50 or 60 l in that'll be enough for your shower hopefully me enough for your shower and then tomorrow I'll do the same but normally what we do is uh I don't normally fill a 200 L water tank up with a watering can but CU we're not moving if we're moving and traveling then obviously before we leave I'll just pull over and fill it up but cuz we're stationary the watering can does the job you're trusty old friend another 10 minutes my love and you can have your shower [Music] there is something to be said about I feel the room that was a gorgeous shower because everyone's gone out so it's literally just me and Rosie here Richard and the kids have gone to the shop because we just realized that we've run out of toilet roll so that really can't wait we need to get some toilet roll um it does feel like with Van life that you're like constantly running out of stuffff running out of water running out of toilet rooll or maybe that's just us maybe we're just not as organized as we should be I went to the shop yesterday morning Rick went to the shop last night so yeah lots of trips to the shop probably more us than anything so yeah I'm just going to finish getting ready now do my hair then probably by the time I've done that they'll probably be back so I just need to pull out the sofa now because to use our three pin plugs I need to turn on on our alternator now it's not actually called an alternator but I can never remember what it's called Uh Rick watches back and be like here it's called this anyway you guys probably know if you're watching but it's a thing that will um allow me to use our threein plugs cuz we don't have them switched on all the time so we'll just take this apart a bit it's all stored under here and I've just got a few switches to turn let's go check it out see if I done it right hair dryer Moment of Truth hey it's working my piece has been spoiled they're fantastic I'd rather have a chocolate yeah you can't get chocolate AES in the UK though well you can but not as good as France but I'm guessing there's something for me in that bag no they actually are you joking me we got you some bread rolls I got some some Sprite some toilet roll yeah yeah that's what we needed I got you some onions love oh thank you darling but that's that's actually it it's always good to be thought of yeah well we don't like those fingers it's not my problem tomor lunch so you need to eat these that was grown this is how you do it romantically oh watch out it's flattered on my nose did it you know dad likes just plain and boring crisps I know it's not understanding I can't believe myv everything por cck is good what are you trying to say what are you so do you have a plan for what you want so we just come across to do a little bit of fishing we're actually really lucky that this is right where we're staying like literally we've walked what how far literally I mean you'll probably see it behind us yeah 25 M yeah so lucky this is here I can tie that on Teddy's got a little a little wooden well it's a stick with a bit of rope on that's his fishing rod have you got one Rick a oh he started pulling in his Rod then we're not after there anything big well you never know but you never know okay right I'll tie a bit of bread to Ted's and we'll see if Ted manages to catch anything going to literally plop it in that's some good fishing terminology there I like it plop it in plop it in I like it here it goes you see some of the big ones so there's some big fish in here but I'm not after oh that's already gone down yeah wow look what we just got that's Mom this is huge that's really good huh yeah it is surprise second try big there we go got a hook we got a hook that's the biggest one I think that's one of the biggest fish I've ever caught in me life FL what you give me a kiss look at that it probably is I don't I don't really do much fishing [Music] [Music] rat I don't know if it's a rat or not can you see it had it Mom it mom was carrying it across no it's a beaver oh it's coming back out it's coming back out it's huge that looks like an utter is that don't you think that's a baby otter because it's got a baby well this is holding a baby that's the big one you I am yeah I'm just trying to figure out what it is same no that's a fish that's not a fish that's a rat I'm sure it's a rat yeah that's a rat okay so we let it realize that it's actually a water balll a species that is actually classified as endangered and although numbers have significantly declined they can be found all over the UK so much cooler than seeing a rat right so we're just going to head back cuz we're not really catching much with the bread uh we don't have much we have sweet corn and we have some ham so we'll get a bit of that put it in some pots and take it over yeah we'll use some ham and some sweet corn let's have a look vegetarian ham well I don't reckon the vegetarian ham will be their favorite I think I think they'll probably want the proper ham no how about be vegetarian I'm not sure the fish are vegetarian TS C tell if they wanted to well if they wanted to they could but I'm just I'm just not sure it's a thing so it turns out that we are actually going to have to use vegetarian ham because we're all out of the normal ham so see what the fish make of this reeling a little bit this romantic okay hold your finger it like that yeah over yeah okay reach around I can do this okay launch in good click that back over bring it the cassettes it's a blue job let us know in the comments who who empties the cassette in your van or motor home is it is it a blue job or is it a pink job we'll see so so yeah we've got a separator toilet in the uh in the lry still trying to think what's better a traditional cassette toilet from like a motor home or a separator I don't know I think they both have pros and cons um I think the traditional cassette toilets if you had a spare one would probably be quite nice I like the fact you access them from outside and therefore there's no dealing with anything on the inside apart from giving the bowl a bit of a clean the separator ones you have to take the separator bit out and then you have to empty the we jug like for us like every day we have to empty that so we got a spare and then you have to do the solids and you have to get rid of that somewhere lot of hassle um and I think for us that stay or like to stay in airs quite a lot most of which or a lot of them have the facilities then I don't know I'm still I think on on they're probably on power of each other I think the port cassettes which is what we had in the van don't bother with that unless you got really tight space but yeah again like let us know have you tried traditional cassette toilets and separator toilets what do you prefer are you thinking about getting a separator or a composting type toilet Lots like on the field here um and obviously when we were at the show last weekend she was walked a little bit there this is her first proper walk like Countryside Family Walk where we're all with her as well so yeah we're going to just go probably do I don't know just up here maybe a mile in total a mile and a half maybe she's got loads of beans in her but we need to start training her to heal a little bit even though it is early days cuz we don't want disobedient dog just R so like our children who are very disobedient we might get it right the fourth time with the dog we get lots of people say oh your children are so well behaved yeah it's like smoking mirrors smoking mirror I assure you we just we just don't think you want to see the Tantrums on the videos you know yeah like we could if you want to put it in the comments if you want to have a vlog which is like half an hour long of the kids just screaming um or kicking the crap out of each other like regular children we'll we we is it today it is Saturday so that would have been Friday the I don't even know what the date is Friday the 10th of Friday the 10th did you see the Northern Lights let us know which part of the country you saw the Northern Lights didn't but my dad who lives close uh said he did see the Northern Lights here in suffk so is anyone further south than suffk let us [Music] know right so Rosie is without the kids this time so I get to nicely do it relaxing with a beer relaxing yes that's it yeah honestly how lucky am I to have a husband who bakes bread this is a totally new thing for Rick but he's loving it and I've had about I don't know I think maybe four loaves of bread fresh bread baked by Rick the last couple of weeks and it's delicious [Music] [Music] right guys so a lot of people are asking when are we heading off and where are we heading off now we will tell you where we're going in due course but we're not going to just yet all we will say is it's somewhere that we've been wanting to go for literally years and we've put it off for whatever reason and we're doing it this year so that is going to be Wicked when are we heading over I can't remember we are heading over in June which is really exciting St we're also going to be catching up with some friends there who themselves have taken on a massive project so we're really excited to see yeah but we do have some unfinished business to do before that which involves a whopping 300 M Journey back to basically where we used to live and finally cut ties with a place yeah there's something that we've been putting off for two years which is how long we've been on the road for now which sounds crazy and I can't believe it's been two years but yeah there's something that we really really need to do kir is probably more looking forward to that than me I'm not looking forward to it yeah it just needs doing I don't want to go up there personally it just needs doing and we've got a very short window in which to do it because we don't do things by halfs so so we know all this is a little bit cryptic uh we're keeping the cards a little bit close to our chest but we have got a wicked wicked spring
