for years and she's covered in tattoos this is where Sam comes in an epic employee with tons of similarities she started wearing the skin as her Main and people wondered if it was actually based on her so Sam admitted it's an ongoing rumor that whoever made her created her after seeing me not every design makes the cut though Travis Scott's event is still one of the biggest things fortnite has done an epic use of clever tricks to make it work if you remember the giant skull Trooper in the ocean this was animated with a mocap suit and a rubber band those markings on the floor with the chapter 2 island to make sure they didn't leave the map as for Travis's icon series it revealed an interesting secret that most players didn't know about we got two great designs but these are the skins that got approved with every collab there's a huge list of Concepts that never make it we're not supposed to see him but one of Travis's Concepts was leaked after the event giving us a rare Glimpse behind the scenes and we recently got a collab that no one even realized was happening cross art seems like a regular skin at first but this was made in partnership with a famous Japanese artist his name is yoshitaka mono and he has worked on things like Final Fantasy Speed Racer and Vampire Hunter D in fortnite he designed cross Arts loading screen outfit and it's even suggested that he made the monolith pois in the files they are called Japanese artist collab landmark and share the same code name as the cross hard skin it was not the only attention to detail in chapter 4. Darth Maul just released and his skin is ridiculously accurate in the films Mall's actor left his earring on by accident but it looks so cool they kept it in since then the character has this piercing and most people don't think about it but epic must have paid attention because it's on his fortnite skin it's pretty obvious I love getting a behind the scenes look at how a new chapter is made they needed to go bigger than ever after chapter 1 with massive Island tons of biomes and luckily the process was recorded you could actually see how they use Unreal Engine to landscape they make custom brushes Rivers even the sky needs a lot of work as for the people that made it epics headquarters look awesome to work at they moved to a huge abandoned mall but their old offices were still pretty big walking around sounds painful and that's why they have features like a massive slide a rock climbing wall and adorable characters and so it's no surprise that one developer wanted to work late at night only to look out the window and see an empty parking lot except for one person roller skating in the dark Tim Sweeney you're gonna hold such a cool building you might as well use it Donna mustard also has fun behind the scenes I mean he's not rollerblading at night but he is technically a part of of the seven in the season 4's live event we watched the visitor hijack a rocket if for a moment you could hear him talk this was the voice of Donald mustard so technically these the visitor other secret actors include Matt Mercer as Midas Steve Blum as Wolverine and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Tien Tina another icon is Patrick Mahomes Not only was he the first NFL player in fortnite but his trailer showed him walking through a Hall of Fame this wasn't a green screen epic use real props and the background was made an Unreal Engine the same technology is used in shows like the Mandalorian where they have this LED screen Patrick Mahomes is on a tight schedule so this worked out perfectly in just one day but not everything goes to plan a rush deadline can destroy projects and that's what happened with fortnite's fracture event leakers found unfinished cutscenes that would have taken the story in a completely different direction we don't know if they were removed because of production issues or if the writers change the story at the last minute but it makes you wonder what else has been cut from the events maybe Collision has a secret ending we'll never find and this is also true for pois a ton of fortnite locations look insane in the concept Dart only to be watered down for the game obviously concept art is meant to visualize something it's just an idea when you look at the sanctuary this was totally different to the final product it reveals how the seven were more involved at first but everything changed it's a rewind all the way back there was a time when fortnite was just an idea on a page in meeting rooms epic was trying to figure out what this game would be and eventually became save the world a cartoony zombie shooter but at first they actually planned to make a horror game with realistic Graphics when we started developing fortnite we thought we wanted a really really terrifying over-the-top scary experience it was very foggy it was very gray something in the vein of like Resident Evil thankfully years of development brought us to this moment it's been a long time coming but all the hard work continues to pay off you never want to be stuck in a box and say that's just what we do and that's what we do all the time fortnite is just a very natural next step for epic these were the untold stories of fortnite behind the scenes it's been Tommy cupid here on top 5 gaming
