n [Music] [Applause] [Music] think [Music] hello so welcome to my Friday I wanted to Vlog like a normal day in my life um so I've just got up got ready and are we liking the new glasses by the way I am loving them Nat likes these ones I also got these ones Nat is not a fan of the second pair let me show you the second ones he thinks these ones are too SCBA diver I think they're quite cute but I think they are a bit too much for just a working day on Friday so we're going with these today I've just smudged them I thought I would do like a realistic Friday in my life Vlog um I've got quite a busy day today actually I think Fridays always tend to be a lot more busy than I'm expecting them to be because I always think I'll Friday yeah I'm going to have like a slow nice day and then it rolls around and I've got loads of loose from like everything else I've been doing in the week um all just kind of fall on the Friday so that's kind of what I've got today so I thought you could come along with me um and yeah let's just spend the day together it is currently 8:54 this is like the realistic part of today I have not got up really early and done a really Mega morning routine because I did not sleep till 3:00 a.m. last night I could not sleep I don't know why I think it was cuz I was quite hot I'm coming on my period so I was having like hot flushes all of those lovely things so I was very tired so I did only get up like at 8:00 um and then I've literally done my makeup and now we're here so I'm going to run quickly and grab myself some breakfast I don't actually know if I fancy breakfast yet I think I might just log on for a bit first and then grab breakfast in like an hour or so but that's the beauty of working from home I can have some food in a bit when I fancy it a bit more so yes I'll catch up with you later guys [Music] I just popped out for a little stroll I had a parcel to collect my hair so windy I had a parcel to collect from um margos me and Nat have ordered a really cool lamp Okay let's sort this hair out anyway me and that have ordered a really cool lamp like our Dream lamp so we've just collected that and I also got some sourdough for us to have lunch later but it was a nice little 10minute Excursion but now I've got to go back to work so let's rush back upstairs that is one very spectacular thing about living so close to like like nice little shops and cafes and working from home is that wo is that throughout the day I can just have like a little 10minute stroll go and grab something go grab a parcel go grab some food whatever so yeah I just thought I'd update you anyway I'm still in my block one of the day till 10:30 and I've still got a few little bits and Bobs to do um not loads so I'm going to get on with that and then I haven't actually updated you yet on like how I block my day and how I time block so I think I might film a little clip in a minute of my time blocks and how I split my day up so that I am most productive anyway I'll catch up with you in a bit so I thought I would share with you how I time block my days so that I am the most productive because I find if I go into a day without a plan that I'm just not productive and I just don't see the overall picture of things I've got to do do so I procrastinate a lot more so I have come up with a time blocking system that really works for me based on where my productivity levels are throughout the day so I know that I in the mornings I don't like to get straight into a hard task because it will literally put me off for the rest of the day if I have a hard task first thing and I don't want to do it I'll put it off and put it off and put it off and then half my day is gone and I've just procrastinated and wasted a load of time so I know that for me the best thing that I can do is to have really easy tickle tasks in the morning to get me into the swing of things and get my motivation up and then a hard task once I'm at a high from all the ticks that I can do in the morning so this is how I tend to do it as you can see I have got different colors here and these are all different time blocks every day looks completely different like today so what I'll do is I'll write what the time block is and what time it's from until so my first time block is always 9: till half 10 and I allocate this hour and a half every morning to going through all my emails going through my inbox replying to anything doing any admin jobs that came up halfway through the previous day that I didn't want to do in the afternoon cuz I was already doing projects and larger tasks so I'll save those till the next day and get those done in that time block um so yeah I've done my morning Time Blog 99 till 10:30 this morning I replied to some emails I set up some suppliers on our like supplier setup CRM system I have put some calls in with some people um and organized my diary a little bit for next week I've also done some like approvals for some on page optimization web stuff anything that I can like do a quick tick that is what I've done this morning so yeah I'm moving into my second block of the day so my second block is from 10:30 till 12:30 I like to take my lunch around 12:30 I feel like it's a nice time breaks up the day nicely so in this time block I'm going to be doing more of a bigger project this is some analytics stuff and some auditing and some uploads of content and removal of content content and updating content so that is what I'm going to do for the next 2 hours then I've got my lunch and then I have a 1:30 till 3 block after lunch cuz I always find that my productivity like dips a bit after lunch I'm feeling a bit tired so I have a shorter time block after lunch and in this today I am just doing one task again I've got to section up a video that was filmed like a Live recorded video and put it into chapter ready for that to be made into a shorter smaller trailer video so I've got to take out the best sections and submit that and then I do a 300 p.m. till 400 p.m. block which is my catchup block so I always allocate this block in the afternoon to catch up on any random tasks that have come up throughout the day that have just like blindsided me and I need some time to do them cuz that tends to happen a lot for a while when I was time blocking I was planning out my days and not like accounting for this time but I would have to do like random stuff that would come up throughout the day and then I'd be like why am I not getting through my to-do list and it was because I was doing half of my to-do list and then things would come up and then I wouldn't be able to tackle the other half so I now set aside this hour in the afternoon to tackle anything that's come up or put in place plans to be able to tackle it the next day or next next week or what's going to happen with this stuff that comes up so that has really helped me stay on track and also helped with my motivation because I get really unmotivated when I feel like I'm not getting stuff done and I'm not ticking and when I was getting distracted by other tasks that would come up in the day I wouldn't be able to tick off my to-do list and that would make me really unmotivated but this has really helped with that and then I have a 400 p.m. till 5:30 another hour and a half block just tying up blue end on whatever else I want to do that day sometimes I start a full new task today cuz it's a Friday I actually have an end of week meeting with my manager so week call from 4: till 5:30 every Friday just to go through everything from the week tie up any loose end ask any like blocker questions and prepare for Monday because we have a full team meeting every Monday first thing so if I have any blockers or any questions that I need to ask before that team meeting on Monday this is my time to ask so that's what my Friday looks like this week it is quite jam-packed um but I really look forward to my meeting with my manager every Friday from 4: till 5:30 I think it's a really nice way to end the week because it's just like a nice chat at the end of the week tying everything up instead of leaving the week feeling deflated it makes me leave the week feeling quite happy and proud of myself actually and also it means that I can relax over the weekend cuz I know that everything is ready for Monday um because I've already spoke it through with my manager that is my little time block and yeah I'm going to get on with it I think first though um I am going to go and grab some breakfast really quickly because I haven't eaten yet and that is very naughty so I'm going to grab some breakfast and then we're going to get smashing out this work so yeah [Music] [Music] I just wanted to quickly show you before I have my breakfast this is what I've been having recently I have mixed it all up so it looks quite ugly now but it has changed my life so my like everyday breakfast is like Greek yogurt um chia seeds berries bit of peanut butter bit of honey and that is like my ideal breakfast however I have discovered something so me and Nat recently got something on my glasses me and that recently have been um making dates stuff with peanut butter covered in 85% dark chocolate and then put in the freezer as like a really nice Snickers snack we've been making those a lot recently as our like weekly snack we just go into the freezer have one throughout the day I have discovered chopping them up and putting them in my yogurt Bowl it just takes it to a whole new level it is delicious so if you haven't tried that you need to try it also made a little ice coffee it is definitely an ice coffee kind of day it's very sunny um and that got like really Posh expensive instant coffee like the NES Cafe gold decaf so I thought only way to test it out is to make a really nice SCE of coffee and it's so strong and good I feel like with instant coffee like Supermarket instant coffee like none of it is great but when you do buy the more expensive ones you can tell a difference anyway I am rumbling on I am going to get on with my work now lunch time [Music] I want it is4 to 3 so I am like Midway through my third time block um I had a really nice lunch me and not did some nice cooking together we made some really nice chicken sandwiches with like Smokey Chito mayo and girkins and chili jam and they were so good and we had the sourdough that I bought earlier so really nice lunch anyway I have not actually been working on what I had time block to work on ironic this always happens but something has actually come up which is pretty urgent so I've been working on that instead um and yeah I think I might actually be working on this now till the end of the day and I don't know if I will have my end of week up with Joe because um this is something for the legal team so like whenever we release like campaigns and stuff we have to consult the legal team um and we have had some feedback from them so I have a list of actions which I need to do um in order for something to go live so that is going to be the rest of my afternoon but it's okay I'm happy to do them and they're quite self-explanatory so it will be fine and yeah I put a little jump on cuz I was actually really cold um but yeah I'm going to get on with that this afternoon and I'll update you if there's any changes or anything but apart from that I think I'm going to have quite a quiet little Friday afternoon um I will pick you up once more I think to finish off this Vlog um however I don't think I'm going to Vlog the full evening because me and Nat are packing and moving stuff over to the new place and we're also staying in the new place tonight and I want to include all of that in a moving Vlog that I have already started filming so I think I will finish off this Vlog just when I finish work today and then it will have been a real representation of what a normal Friday in my work life looks like but yeah I'll catch up with you guys in a little bit welcome to the meing Vlog it is Friday afternoon I have just finished work and we're moving a lot of stuff [Music] the [Music]
