a REAL day in the life with a NEWBORN (full 24 hours)

okay [Music] how come the stars come to shine when it's dark from so far away show us where we are what makes the sun go to sleep every night and what's it dreaming I wonder [Music] so it is and they only just had a third feeding of the night if you guys can hear that sound that is her sound machine it's so nostalgic recently use the same exact sound with Alia and Naomi is just the same you really love sleeping with sound I just feel like she doesn't wake up as much at night but as you guys saw she had about three feelings that night today fed her around midnight and then as you guys saw she woke up again around like 2 30 and then one more time right now I'm around 6 6 15. so I am nursing right now as you guys saw I really liked our nurse lying down especially when it comes to night time just more chill for her for me sometimes I fall asleep with her too if you guys remember with Alia I actually did combination feeding so sometimes I would nurse her sometimes I would give her formula the really great thing about that is that that way Ellen was actually able to help me with the nighttime 3am feeding you would usually take that over himself so I can get in a couple extra hours of uninterrupted sleep but now just because nursing when Naomi's going so well and my supplies really good I just decided to try to stick it out and just do the breastfeeding as long as I can on my own the only thing about that is that boba's tired because I'm doing everything by myself but this is usually the time that she loves to be awake from like six to eight a.m so she's just chilling with me right here I know hello but you guys are welcome to a full 24 hours with a newborn as you saw we started this in the middle of the night and that's how we're gonna be ending it too so like I said it's almost seven I'm gonna try to snooze for a little bit longer and then I guess once Alia wakes up we'll take the day from there what makes the sun go to sleep every night I wonder hello good morning you want to go to IKEA today and by the way guys the mess we're still unpacking don't blame us we're taking our time but we're doing it slowly slowly right yeah no me crying say no I mean don't cry [Music] much the mommy on the bus go if that's not the best wake up alarm in the morning then I don't know what is unless it's a day that she's cranky that's not fun foreign [Music] [Applause] whoa obviously these things have like sugar and stuff like that and some currents will allow something but we hear a little bit it's fine you grow up that way too perfect [Applause] foreign [Music] because today is Sunday I want to usually get out of the house really quickly sometimes we'll get Dunkin Donuts in the morning so we got Aaliyah a sandwich I got myself everything bagel egg cheese and veggie bacon and Haley got everything they go with cream cheese what's a sandwich okay all of all these Favorite Things cheese egg and croissant donut you guys ready to go [Music] foreign like I said we are heading on over to Ikea and today you guys are pretty much going to see what a Sunday in our life looks like with a newborn Naomi because it's very very very daunting to follow her newborn schedule you know the girl just eats sleeps and poops all day so because of the fact that I just fed her we have I want to say two to three hours that we can quickly go run an errand and that's why we're heading on over to Ikea today main reason if you're curious as to why we need to go to IKEA today is because in my closet upstairs there's actually a mirror on the outside of the closet and I personally really want to be able to get ready and be able to see myself as a get ready so I wanted to go ahead and get a mirror on the inside are you okay okay this is what I'm wearing today I don't know why Haley the Builder likes to wear plaid when she heads off to Ikea it makes me feel like I'm a Lumberjack I don't even know but glad Allen picked us up some breakfast because we've literally got two hours until Olivia has to go in that we're in a bit of a rush but we got it so crazy that this is the reality of us leaving the house now gotta take a double stroller two bags it's like a whole thing [Music] that lasted three seconds what happened she literally spit up all over her clothes I have to change her now meanwhile Ali is already inside Alia you ready to go Ikea it's already like yeah I've been waiting so this is basically my life right now stuck between two children you never get to eat my own food okay now Emma um and I also failed vlogging sometimes take us to the nearest IKEA please and step on it because we're gonna have a cranky lady in two hours we gotta make this trip quick yesterday I already went and like added a bunch of stuff to cart that I want to get here and doobie what's to be stupid the monkey hello snake oh my God scary Rose you want that with caterpillar yeah three two one again [Applause] okay ready three two one [Music] just got home I'm gonna Leo to sleep she's doing like summer salts in her butt right now Adam did you see the video yeah she's like jumping up and down but I'm just gonna feed Naomi and she has a full diaper too so I gotta change her she's gonna wait for dinner tonight my Best Buy soup a little love soup I'll make chicken noodle soup yeah sure okay so take out we have the chicken bones in the fridge basically what I do to make chicken noodle soup I get I want to buy like chicken bones which have a little bit of chicken on it but it's how I make bone broth I just boil it for a really long time and it makes a really really good soup base and then I'm throwing some veggies in itself add some noodles in there and Aaliyah loves it lately she's always been asking for soup so that's what works it's literally my favorite corner of the house to feed it's elia's nugget couch in her little play area I don't know why I just like sitting here it's so cozy I sit here more than I do all the actual white couch food so if you guys aren't already following me on Instagram you should because I posted these like five diaper hacks that I wish every first time Mom knew and one of them was actually getting one of these portable mats that you could take with you everywhere this one is made of leather and it's kind of great because then you can go ahead and do diaper changes pretty much in every corner of the house rather than just sticking to one spot all the time and because this one is also made of leather it's waterproof so if there's any spills or Gunk or anything it won't get any of the furniture [Music] hello hi [Music] thank you foreign [Music] but she should be waking up any minute now I hope Mr assume she's also should be waking up any minute now so I'm gonna take the opportunity to unload the dishwasher because Haley hates unloading the dishwasher as you guys know so that's our I guess system that she loads it up I empty it out because I don't like dealing with dirty dishes and for some reason she doesn't like putting clean dishes away so compromise yeah foreign [Music] it's currently 2 49 Alia just woke up and I was about to bring her downstairs I am waiting for Naomi to wake up from her nap because I actually want to go ahead and play with her a little bit there is something that I did with Aaliyah in order to get her on a schedule I always try to keep a routine and an even flow throughout the day so I would make sure that she sleeps once she sleeps I make sure to wake her up and play with her a little bit then I would feed her and then at the time that she's sleeping I would do something for myself which is kind of like what I try to follow all the time and I feel like as much as this is not necessarily a strict schedule because I'm not doing everything by the hour I'm really just kind of doing it by the idea of what it is so she's taking a nap I just let her nap I try not to really wake her up I kind of let her use her own sleeping pattern to decide how long she wants to sleep and then after she wakes up I try to play with her a little bit because if I feed her right away and then play with her I notice that she tends to spit up a lot more so hopefully when she wakes up from the snap I can play with her a little bit give her some Tummy Time spend a little bit of time with her in that way and then again when she goes back to sleep that's when I have like an hour or two to do something for myself whether that be take a nap or do some errands like some laundry some dishes anything like that it's what I try to do so right now while she was leaving I made dinner but when she wakes up this is pretty much how I play with her as you guys can see I have the love every playmat I had it with Alia absolutely loved it she's still a little bit too young to be interacting with everything here like the little bell and all that kind of stuff but as she gets older I know that she's gonna like it because Alia loved it but the matte does come with these amazing black and white pattern cards and if you guys don't know newborns especially in the beginning stages don't really see color and it's much easier for their brain to kind of separate and isolate images through black and white so they really like looking at patterns like this and that's really it with newborns it's not a lot of effort in terms of how to play with them the Snuggles the cuddles it's all great too can I please have a hug a Leo you didn't show me enough love today [Music] she's not hugging me [Music] oh my God please hug me so I stopped crying please hug me thank you I love you okay can I give you a kiss no I'm nice thank you you wanna let everyone know me okay but be careful because you're still sleeping okay you want to go outside gentle mommy she's sleeping you can touch her here okay touch her on her hand yeah say nice Naomi um it's literally crazy you guys no matter how much I try I can have like an outfit on in the morning that I like feel more stylish in but then when I come home you guys know that feeling where it's like you should go take your bra off your hair up take off your makeup generally you know like I need to throw on the sweats I I just can't I think maybe the nice compromise is just to get nicer loungewear but then Erin already says I have a lot of clothes well Naomi woke up extra hungry so I guess I'm gonna be feeding her first [Music] we didn't even play with you clothes again all right this girl's super happy but something I actually really love to do especially when she has moments where she blows out her diaper as soon as we open is I lay another diaper right underneath so then while I'm cleaning this up when I take it out it can catch if she decides to let another one lose but garbage please yeah good job Alia are you hungry again or do you want to go play I'm not asking you I'm asking Naomi oh we got this boy yeah she wanted to eat again just feeding her all the time but at least that one can feed herself now [Music] okay it's currently five o'clock how many diapers have you changed today six or seven including one right now we changed her 10 minutes ago as soon as we changed her she pooped and I just fed her crazy because I don't have like one dirty diaper number two every other day and apparently the doctor said that that was normal because with breastfeeding babies and like sometimes half formula half breastfeeding it's always different this one from day one she would go like seven times a day I'm not complaining it's good she has a good healthy gut but dang and diapers are expensive and the clothes oh my gosh like I with Aaliyah I would literally be able to have the same outfit on her for three days she was so clean she would never spit up she never pooped and then this one it's either she blows out her diaper or she spits up all over her clothes I go through like four outfits a day but she's so sweet and I wouldn't change anything about it I'm still hungry you guys babies cry and it's normal Just Gotta Keep Your calm it's all good it's okay we had to cut my hand out girl I'm five minutes and then five minutes later hey they cry together today hello hello you want massage okay we always put this like little ointment on her chest because she's been coughing a little bit lately she gets really excited because we call it massage all right guys so you saw Naomi is snoozing and remember how I told you after they eat and then when they sleep you have that one hour or two that you have to do something for yourself I'm gonna go sleep that's what I'm gonna do for myself right now because your girl is so tired today just felt like such a long day especially at the days where we actually leave the house Sundays we always just try to like leave the house somehow even if it's just to run an errands so that the girls can kind of like be outside a little bit you know so I'm gonna rest my eyes for a bit the soup is pretty much done cooking I just have to add the chicken back into it and we've got bone broth for the whole week y'all I'm so excited wow that did not last did it Naomi the soup looks so good and I actually just separated all the chicken from its bones I'm just gonna throw that back in and I mean guys look at how much chicken came off of that and then I'm gonna be sure to cook some new noodles on the side so that Alia could have that with the soup tomorrow all right we're slowly starting to unwind for the night Alia is already down I always chilling on her temps me saying babe let's go get sushi honestly you guys usually we definitely need a lot more home-cooked meals but I feel like on Sunday and then I know we're literally just talking about how exhausted we get on Sunday right yeah so right now we just got in our Walmart order I love the Walmart delivers it makes life so much easier because like just imagine taking the two kids going to the store having a circle around filling up your cards card stroller it's just so much but you gotta stop buying ice cream maybe I love ice hot here in Florida basically the ones they have in the vending machines vending machines vending machine I'm not an ice cream vending machine oh we have sushi I know it's true someone have sushi that ice cream bowl soup before bed I mean that's that's fun that's good and I got mini ice cream we've been going through these like a lot but they're so expensive I wish there was a way to make it ourselves oh my God it's such a great snack you don't feel guilty about giving it to them baby you don't need to eat it nobody said for you to eat it I know but I'm like really tempted you gotta work on your self-control there's like nothing wrong obviously with having sweets once in a while the problem is that I eat it too much and like it replaces my actual meal that's why you don't buy it because if you don't buy it you don't have it and when you don't have it you don't want to eat it and then I got a bunch of mini pastas for Leah because he likes pasta but she likes it in mini forms so and many shells as well oh not gravy mac and cheese got some tofu and some wonton wraps and we're gonna be probably making some dumplings this week so stay tuned you guys like I said every Vlog I'm gonna try to incorporate some kind of cooking into it and with that being said comment down below what your favorite food in the world is she's finally awake she slept so much today you better sleep at night though well it's gonna be my problem not yours this is what we're munching out on today I know this looks like a ton but Adam loves leftovers and like we said in the past basically we have a grocery store that's by the end of the night like an hour before closing they actually do buy one roll get one free so he only paid for three but we got six so that's why it ended up being so worth it can't wait to eat this is the main difference between husband and I me normal just have some soy sauce with my Sushi this guy like how much stuff do you need to properly enjoy your meal My Love Stuff people Wasabi on each piece too and we're watching Impractical Jokers if you guys haven't watched the show it's literally the funniest thing ever
