today we're at the burdened orful Factory we're going to have a factory tour there's also showroom at the front entrance here's the reception we're not allowed to video much in the factory but my guide will tell me when we're allowed to do that his showroom area I've been talking to the voicing technician some very interesting information about hammers I try and share as we go along but if you look you can see the display here and the technician working so we'll come back to the showroom later on but we're going now into the factory you see the stock pile of wood here I'll have to talk ask them how long they keep the wood to before it's ready to use so the wood here is kept for apparently about five years spruce white beach and maple mainly not for sample construction white beach red beach and maple here partly stamp samples our stunts which is an Austrian firm we've used them ourselves - this is a drying centre where the the Timbers dried out after it's and been weathered outside so the wood is dried before it's cut obviously and then it's so drawing again here so the wood has dried to about 7% apparently so here's the rest planks and they look like designate rest plants very similar and they have maple on top of that now this is Bruce and surprisingly to me it's actually used on the outer case the idea being to get recent case prints it's for where the case actually resonates so when when it's necessary to hold things like the soundboard it's going to be red peach but otherwise they can use fruits progressively Katie interesting something I'd not thought about before now here's the frames and sorry I might have been a bit quiet and previously because there was lots of factory noise I'll have tried to speak up then but this should be okay I think and this is obviously finishing off the frames got to be very smooth on the top before it's published sorry before it's painted and then polished so here we have the frame it's coated here to make it smooth that's the idea and filled up obviously with filler as well and after that this is the red sprayed last of all and it's very smooth it feels very smooth to the touch as we do when we polish again if you have to get it really smooth before you apply polish this here we have frame colors now that's the standard frame color for old pianos that's the modern frame color there this one here is for white pianos and this is a sort of customized kind of color the buzzin door full customizers too for it for any color really the kind of sanding tray here where we put put the frame on and then sand it down and we'll if we look over here we can see the frame this is really smooth now it feels extremely smooth it's really important it's like when we French polish you have to get the surface really really smooth that's the secret of getting a good polish and it does feel really nice and here we have the general frame of the piano construction spruce and red Beach apparently they usually Express because they feel that it's helps food whatever spruce you put on tends to harmonize what's the right word for it you it increases the vibration of generally the idea see at maximum vibration of the whole piano this is interesting we're not allowed to video quite a lot of things in the factory area but this one we can which is a list and the veneer is called lavona apparently we'll look at the outside no it's unpolished obviously we saw it look different from this but I think we've made in it I made an error earlier on because this is not the rest plank here and that's the wood we saw earlier I think you can see the laminates but the rest blank will just move over too slowly you can see the beautiful construction here again we've got spruce we've got red Beach red Beach for where things need to be attached and now we're zeroing in on the rest plane and you can see that there is some laminate there so not quite sure whether we videoed that earlier but you can see there's the laminate for the bottom of the rest plane but here we have maple and very much like Canadian rock maple rest blank and it's a beautiful construction and this is how the a grafts are put on in the next section now so they can be turned obviously it's very rare to get a broken a graph but it does happen now and again but never had one on a bird or from before this is a model 200 frame here and there's a cup at astro bar I want to show you that because apparently it can be removed because it means with reconditioning you often need to alter it maybe the strings have grooved it or needs to be taken out and redone so obviously if it's useful you can take it out and the edge can be put right again that's the other side of the Kappa - Troy bar which apparently it's unique that it can be taken out I didn't know that technology as you can tell I hope I'm speaking loud enough and this is restring is exactly what we commonly do but probably a lot more efficient and accurate so they're individually strung this is so something we've mentioned before about percent offer being individually strongly the idea being that it's more stable but what's the string being put on you can see this is of the season the more you do it the quicker you get but we just watched one being done see how it's done take it to the end why end it on that's remarkable your vision I'll go around the other side next time I think here we are just by moving around very important to wear gloves for the string and also for your fingers I'm sure that they don't get cut the back pin being welcome swinging around on the pin sorry we put the row in first very good [Music] [Music] or lifting very impressive just to show you the jello Jack put Jack's underneath to stop the frame being damaged and they're going to be reasonably high tension as well I'm sorry you're going to run out of flashing them and it was the captain battery's running down well that's a novel hammer that just to show that they use both are vilandra now and these are Renault hammers and these keys are from Luger and the action of course is from Rena as common here's the Bob Englewood here which is he looks like mahogany it's actually forbidden now and can't be used but they had old stock they could use up but needs a certificate to go with it and this is white Beach is replacing it here's a burdened offer Imperial instruction I won't take everything not allowed to take some video anyway but it would be too long I don't want to make a mess of your long video but just to give an idea how wonderful this factory is so this is this is a person door for being restored 95 96 and and there's got new the top quality premium course here Anna hammers they're voicing with a number 5 needles here apparently had to do a lot of work the ELMO bit dollar has been reshaped and now finally voiced here you go right up to the tip of the hammer to about there and from the other side what about the crown of it do you touch the top at all not too much [Music] you [Music] video is really already very long and just going to finish off now with a quick look at the showroom and see the different models that are here I think probably will conclude the video here though you can see the uprights different lengths of burrs and offer the 170 we often have in stock they restore buzz and offer grants here as well which is something I didn't realize I probably should have thought that they would and they're different models here different colors really basically doesn't offer us a very inventive company and we'll take up any challenge in terms of finish look at this one here not sure what this is called but it's a very very beautiful veneer huge amount of work gone into this and of course the piano is very expensive there's no what we've seen in the factory is that they they want to produce the very very best and so if you're going to do that obviously the price is quite high but really worthwhile there very another very interesting design I think my flash is finished because the battery's running down apologies for that but thank you very much for your patience I hope that it was all audible we have to look at the video later on and see thank you very much
