good morning princess time to get up morning a very good morning from somewhere in the highlands of scotland the plan for today is to get to the isle of skye but when i say plan it wasn't like that last night when we just spontaneously decided to jump in the van and drive until we could drive no more and we've ended up in this little unidentified car park so this morning after six hours sleep let's push on and get to scotland's most famous island [Music] so [Music] you could argue that we turned up at the worst possible moment for the ferry as it was just sitting there waiting for us so no time to set up the cameras properly or even to visit what looked like a wii shop in the lighthouse how cool is this as you can see here we were squeezed on without even being able to open the doors there's a point if the ship went down we'd be crawling out the windows but anyway if you'd like to see a proper look at this unique wee sky ferry check out tom scott's video in his crossing he explains everything a lot better than i could ever do anyway thank you thanks i was so excited by that ferry i forgot to say welcome to sky welcome to the sky i must admit taking that ferry is a bit of a novelty because it is the only turntable ferry left in service in the world and the fact you can come over to sky now using the sky bridge which is free there used to be a toll on it but it's all free now and then you're just on to really good roads that is definitely the easier way to come here and because if you take the ferry you're going to have these little windy roads for maybe five ten miles each side and they're not easy to drive on especially when it's busy so if you're coming here in summer i would probably recommend coming over the bridge and it costs 20 quid for that turntable fairy yeah which is very expensive but i'm so glad we did it yes hello skye [Music] [Music] fair to say someone likes the wii shop up the hill at elgo there's lots of boat trips from here in alcohol we just booked one over to loch korusk and that'll take us right into the heart of the cooling range can't wait let's go get it let's go get it i'm always off in search of the perfect view how do i get up here but to be honest when you're in algol every view is perfect [Music] you ready for a reboot trip ready thank you so welcome aboard the misty isle there's a couple of different boat trip companies here doing basically the same thing and both are excellent but this one just shades it for us there's different options depending how long you want to spend a shore or you can even go one way and walk back if you're up for a proper hike we took the 90 minute ashore option as there's lots to see over in the cooling coolant father and son jewel sandy and sheamus are so friendly and given excellent enthusiastic commentary and trust me they know this place better than anyone it was thunder there was lightning crashing loud all around them and still neither one can get a victory [Music] so that we boat trips something quite special and it brings you somewhere special as well and just think if you come to sky in the summer and it's absolutely packed just jump on that wee boat and half an hour later you'll be all alone in one of the most beautiful places in the world now here's a wee tip for you if you follow us over the stepping stones and up the hill for a wee bit you'll get what is undoubtedly the best view with a minimum effort look at that and boys will be boys me wasting time scrambling about on this we cracked pebble ensured that we had to get a move on to make it back to the boat on time thank you [Music] very very much thank you [Music] starting route to ferry pools head north west on rafa now chaffa then turn right [Music] oh no the sun's dropping fast we can see the shadow just creeping towards the fairy pools will it get there before us so the ferry pools appears to me to be a waterfall that starts up in one of the high mountains and it's dropping into all these little natural pools on the way it is very beautiful the water looks lovely if it wasn't so late i'd be so tempted to go for a dip i'm sorry i think because we're a wee bit rushed tonight i'm not really doing it justice but there must be so much online from proper photographers that capture it so much better than me it's very pretty though imagine back in the day this would have been a place that few people knew about just locals but now it's a very different story ah that feels good if there's one thing my feet needed tonight is that the further up the gorge you go the river flattens out a bit and it gets a lot more rocky lots more big pebbles in the water and if anything i kind of prefer it up here and if nothing else not a bad view to end day one the sun has finally set over that hill but we won the race now it's time for us to go and get some well-deserved rest it's been a long day one i'm looking forward to sleeping in the van tonight it was very comfortable last night yes we just need to find somewhere to park which will not be a problem on sky fairy pools is awesome the only dampner to it is this feels like you're in the city centre of edinburgh or something and you might only spend like an hour here so six quid for an hour it's almost as expensive as edinburgh as well [Music] [Music] a very good morning from day two wasn't expecting the sun to be out like this this morning for reference this is where we parked and it was a wonderful sleep i'm a vlogger i wish you were a driver i've climbed both of those hills now that takes you out to the kind of peninsula and where the lighthouse is so we could be there in within about 25 minutes so imagine [Music] [Music] we're up on the top of the hill now we still can't see the lighthouse but it is there just behind that massive cliff this is probably my favorite rock and the composition is like on the picture you have a big cliff the lighthouse behind it beautiful [Music] i feel like a sheep in these little paths hi steve you look like one as well here we've got the old diesel winch which has seen better days and that would have pulled all the supplies up and down the lighthouse and of course the reason they needed that winch is because this path is a wee bit steep and there's the cage for carrying all the supplies when i think of a lighthouse i always think of one lighthouse keeper and their family when you look at the size of the buildings here they're huge there must be so much more going on here [Music] [Music] oh we're getting there my favorite we store on skye we're at the car park now for coral beach which is a bumpy wee road up past dunvegan castle and then we've got a bit of a walk to get there it's about 20 minutes walk hi socorro beach is a fascinating place and a very popular place which we could tell from the car park one of the strange things to me is when you're walking along the path to get there the beach to my left is just like a normal beach but once we get round to coral beach you'll see that everything's very different oh it's always exciting to come here just over the power of this hill we've got the coral beach look at that i just know that my camera doesn't pick up how turquoise that water is it's absolute paradise the water is colder than i expected you're in the caribbean you're in the it's warm it's so warm oh boy i know how sometimes you go into the sea and you just think right give it five minutes i'll be fine i could not last five minutes in there [Music] right now oh wow welcome to the kiran a very windy but spectacular part of sky we're not going to be staying here for long there's no doubt in it the karang is absolutely stunning and it offers some of the most dramatic scenery in the whole island and it's a fun week drive as well as long as you don't mind a few tight turns if the weather had been a bit calmer we may have gone for a wee hike along the easy trails but in a day like today even the coffee van had to be bolted down join us now as we head down the road all the way to poetry [Music] we've arrived in portrait we are tired we're hungry i think that's possibly the end of the filming today do you fancy going to get a chippy food just food she might be in her dinner but this is a sea pottery beach [Music] [Music] [Music] yes that is one hundred percent look that's the edge you can see that something just made the print it's like three fingers well fine thanks it's not easy because they're not marked in any way so you have to just walk around and find them i was using this internet picture as references but there's more this way yes yeah yeah oh no that looks really bad yeah and then you see i can see the one here there's so many in this little slab of rock and there's there's another one there as well yeah and i'm intrigued by this i can't make out the shape but this looks this looks like it's something for sure all of them are kind of in the same rock this is the one you noticed i think i said i think it's too big but that's that's another old guy and that's the footprint oh we're being watched so that's the way to tour sky good morning from kilt rock this is our first stop of the day it's one of the most popular places in sky and after here we're gonna head to somewhere a wee bit more obscure but first back to the van for my jacket it is freezing [Music] oh well more that was easy yeah a bit more visible kilt rock kill truck so what's on the kill truck apart from the burger van which is not here [Music] [Music] well as nice as kilt rock is we're not hanging about it's a wee bit windy up here this morning and cold and the burger van's not here where is it they used to be the best burger van ever up here the burger's just sizzling away good coffee it's exactly what i needed right now i think it's just a story i've never seen it my day is ruined it's not easy to find breakfast in the sky it's tough thank yeah i have something a bit more traditional i'd like to save link because it's really good okay so whenever i come to any island i always want to get to the most northerly point so we're going to head out to ruba hoonish am i saying it right i don't know rupa finish and there is the surprise at the end [Music] oh no the sun's coming out i was enjoying this overcast day [Music] woof and that'll be rubber hoonish down there all right let's get up to that buffy that is one beautiful bluffy so we've got bunk beds there single at the top a nice big king size at the bottom a little place to edit my youtube videos and then the absolute star of the bothy look at this this is the most beautiful body i've ever seen and the view as well wow imagine a nice stormy night i think actually it will be quite eerie here at night like no lights no houses so it will be pitch black all around you yeah and you hear so many noises the wind and everything and there's some information up here so the lookout was built for the coast guard in 1928 during the 1970s it was no longer needed and became a favorite haunt for whale spotters bird watchers and those who wish to enjoy the inspiring panorama so a little bit about both these these are just little shelters that are dotted all over the country and you can just come in the door's always open you might have to share with people but this gives you refuge for the night and they're run by the in fact here it is here the mountain bothers association maintains simple shelters in remote parts of britain founded in 1965 we look after about 100 bothers in the highlands of scotland and in southern scotland northern england and the mountains of wales and from our experience they're always really tidy and really yeah yeah always although we're not going to stay here tonight it's still a lovely place just to stop off take a breather and take in all the views but imagine it as well if it had been like a really stormy day you could come in here and make your lunch it really is a lifesaver of a place [Music] and if you'd like for the channel we can go and visit some more bothies around scotland throughout the year just let me know in the comments if that's something you'd like to see [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] ah skye where phone boxes are still phone boxes she steals the peanut ones back [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so there we go folks our three days on sky comes to an end all too quickly thank you so much for all your comments we managed to read them all in between really dodgy phone signals and i'm sorry we couldn't visit all the places sorry for us that we couldn't visit all the places but we'll need to come back to sky there's no doubt about it and that just showed you that three days on this island is nowhere near enough so we will be back won't we thank you so much for watching and as always take care we'll see you soon bye [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
