[Music] well guys look what decided to show up we finally got a decent little chunk of snow enough anyway to where we need to put bedding in the grills dad's in the tractor there and i'm standing by the gate so i'm just going to open up all the gates for these corels out here we're going to toss some bedding in it's not really cold out yet but uh it's about -1 degrees so the snow came down a little bit slushy a little bit moist today and that's some nastier heavier snow so it's nice to get these calves and these cows in the corrals a nice dry place to lay down a lot of them probably haven't laid down today yet at all because it has been snowing so we got to get a nice solid bedding pack in all these corals [Music] so that's our high line bale wagon can load two bales in it other than the fact that that bale wagon shred shear bolts quicker than it shreds bales uh it's a solid way and does a good job betting we really like it we always just leave it behind our comments these tears are so loud oh yeah there we go he quit talking we just leave it behind our 2294 it's one of our older case tractors we've got three older case tractors one is in front of the baler one sometimes in front of the feed wagon and then this one is usually in front of the box scraper during the summer time uh the little yard leveling tool we got and then in front of this thing in the wintertime we just leave it in front of this and that's how we bed so every time it snows or if it gets really cold that we haven't put bedding in for a couple days we just come through the corrals and toss some fresh straw in there for the animals out here and they always really love jumping around and that clean fluffy new straw [Applause] so [Applause] morning everybody it is the next day now and we're gonna get a lot more snow this evening but i'm currently standing in our water room with our two big water tanks the water reservoirs and this morning one of the water bowls wasn't filling up in the main cow barn and there's one water bowl in the barn that's fed with this tank and it just wasn't getting water so um we checked all of the control boxes on the side there tested the power everything had power over there looked good so we called the guy that installed this all he very good picked up the phone this morning very lucky for us it's sunday morning so that's awesome that he answered and he kind of walked us through what to look for he said pull the pump out of the tank check the wires and make sure there's no broken parts of the wire or no copper showing but right here you guys can see the wire wore through this is all submerged under water so if there's a you know a hole or broken part of that wire it's just gonna stop working there's power going to that pump and it's getting water on the wire so it quit working and that's what the problem was so we're gonna splice that wire right now dad's getting a torch or something and hopefully we can get it back together so we use a splice kit to repair the wire and then we taped around that just to make sure maybe an extra layer of protection but we switched the pump on and now it's working again you can see it torque right up so we're gonna drop it in the tank again so we dropped that pump back in the tank there just to make sure it's working again come to this water bowl and you can see it's spraying again you can hear everything start up in that room also and start running again so that's awesome we're in one of our cafe rooms right now and a lot of the pens in here oh they're gonna be so loud but they think it's breakfast on a lot of these pens are double calves because we ran out of room so uh we're gonna move these double like the younger ones of the doubles into the clean calf room over here this room just got cleaned out that's why we were just putting them double we took the older calves out of this room cleaned it all out and now we're able to put those doubles in this room we've been having a lot of calves lately so we got to move them through here a bit quicker and that's why we had to double them up there because we need to make sure that we completely disinfect and sanitize this room before new calves go in need to steal some bales of shavings from this room [Music] oh man [Music] okay [Music] so we just took eight cows from that room put them all in this room now they got their own pens that one just peed all over me when i was carrying it hey thanks dude this little guy's from this morning now we're gonna grab another calf right away and put it in here so many calves um huh [Music] on an afternoon like this you're lucky to be on the schedule to have to milk cows it's better than putting bedding in the curls that is for sure just nasty out here so i just put the second group into the holding area there so they can get melt now i'm going to scrape it and what we usually do bobcats parked over there we drive out of that overhead door from the sound room and come in this overhead door but i kind of think there's going to be a massive snow drift right over here it's been blowing you can see around these fans a bit of snow has leaked in here just wherever there's a little crack it's gonna blow in just because it's swirling it's so windy outside and even at the door here healthy amount of snow came in through there so we'll go ahead and open this door and see what it looks like out there [Music] that's not too bad i don't know there's like a foot of snow out here first thing i'm gonna do is grab the bucket put it on the skid steer and just push the snow away from the door there uh we don't want to drive on too much snow it's just going to pack it in and it's going to build up over the course of winter you got to push it away right away this is the sand room door oh there's a snow drift here nice there was a massive snow drift out here just gonna have to push it away so we can get in and out of this door there is luckily you can see a heater in the concrete there can't keep the snow off of the lens here you can see it's melting the snow so it's not going to ice up right where the door goes down which is going to keep the door from icing shut which we really don't want but i'm going to hurry up and scrape this group here jeez it is nice outside man milking's finished up parlor's clean millions is clean in the parlor but uh the mill truck's coming tonight there's a bit of snow out in front here it's got a drive here there's literally like two feet of snow right there there's no way the truck's gonna be able to get up to the barn right now so i'm gonna hop in the wheel loader start pushing some snow holy man there's a lot of snow out here that's the loader we're going to be grabbing the case loader has a wider bucket than the new holland so we always like to take this one i'm just gonna open this door and i already know there's gonna be snow falling in so we got the snow shovel here we're just gonna kick all the snow out there and make sure no snow is gonna be underneath the door when we close it again wow it's the current view right now it's pretty gnarly so i'm just really trying to make sure i don't scoop up too much gravel because we didn't have time to kind of pack the first layer of snow down we just got a whole swac load of snow off the bat usually we'll just uh kind of pack down the first snowfall we get especially when it's only a couple inches but when it's this much we got to push it off of the yard and we want to make sure we don't take off too much of that expensive gravel that we put down in front of the barn [Music] itself well we got it cleared in front of the barn plenty of room for the truck to turn around over there now i'm just gonna hand shovel it up here so that he doesn't have to walk through any snow get right up to the milk tank just grab the shovel from this door here where we come in that's my truck oh that sucks i don't know i guess i'm gonna grab our actual broom and broom it off yeah no kidding shout out to those milk truckers that are gonna be driving out in this weather it's pretty pretty intense but uh that's gonna be it for today's video guys if you enjoyed
