A Journey to the Arctic

[Music] you are on the deck of the greenpeace ship the arctic sunrise together we are on a journey crossing through the sea ice on our way to the high arctic you can't see it but the arctic ocean teems with life under our feet swim highly social orcas also known as killer whales huge schools of fish and playful beluga whales just look around look at this amazing landscape living on the sea ice you'll find hundreds and thousands of seals and walruses we are now right inside the heart of a glacier this tunnel was formed by melt water rushing through the ice [Music] as the planet keeps warming glaciers are disappearing and fast and so is the sea ice that once protected the fragile arctic waters [Music] big oil companies see the melting ice as a chance to drill can you imagine the devastating consequences of an oil spill here polar bears live here on the sea ice they depend on it for food and for raising their cubs now their home is under threat we must protect it [Music] thank you for joining me on our journey through the arctic together we can save this unique place before it's too late you
