[Music] [Music] so it is officially race day at the king Speedway in Hanford California as you can see we are pulling the rig out of the driveway to my buddy's Race shop and we're heading down the road before we went to the track though we had to make a quick stop to feed my crew got the goods so after stopping for a quick bite to eat we pulled into the racetrack and I walked up to see that they were watering the Surface King Speedway is a racetrack that I feel like is always a little bit different every time I show up whether that's a little bit less banking a little bit more banking it feels narrower it feels wider and maybe that's just all in my head but seems like they're always kind of messing with the configuration of this track to put on a better show True 3/8 mile you get going pretty quick down the straight ways and carry a lot of speed through the corners feeling ready to go and just uh want to get out here and tackle the night so at this point we really want to get the night rolling you can see we're unloading the car and about to begin final preparation so we can hit the track also check out my new lid debu in this thing tonight it's pretty sweet so we got a new lid got the car unloaded and uh like I said just finishing everything up so I can climb in and head out to qualify [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so just got out on track for the first time tonight hot lapon qualified ended up with 18 cars here at the King Speedway and ended up rolling out second quick felt good in qualifying felt okay in hot laps the racetrack was very very like loose like the material wasn't packed together when I went out so my car felt like it had no grip and then we ended up tightening up and I kind of figured it was going to the track was almost going to come to all the drivers and so I probably went just a little bit much was very borderline just being a little too snug there and qualifying but I think it paid off and I was able to still run really hard and every driver is different but I feel like there's a real fine line and in for for me I actually wanted to be a little bit more on that side of things um when you get your car balanced and right and you do feel a little snug you got to drive the heck out of it just to get it to rotate and some guys it makes them attack it more and I feel like I can I can be that way in certain situations but now with this format I think we're going to start fourth in our heat race and we just got to finish in the top five to move into the dash we are super close to Quick time our speed is right there we'll just kind of have to see how the track you know how the track changes right now we're all kind of running a little bit above the middle and there's solid grip up there and there's a little bit on the bottom but it's still kind of crummy in spots so it'll be interesting how it works in and how it's going to race [Music] oh [Music] [Music] so we backed up our good qualifying run there with a good heat race finish started fourth got to second on the first lap uh luckily we started on the outside that was a huge Factor if you look at all the Heats they showed the same pattern the outside cars got a good start because we were able to have our right rear in the grip for the inside car you're you're trapped I mean there's nothing down there even if you take off early you spin all the way down the front stretch where we get enough momentum and we're able to kind of Glide across it a little quicker so got to Second tried to paast the leader I mean I didn't really lose a lot of ground but I also didn't really get closer each lap hey Tanner yeah one good thing is you're going to start on the outside just I mean it might you might get up to four going to try to go from six to four start you dad's referring to we just drew for the dash we uh there was only a five and a six left and we got the six oh was the other one a five that's not ideal anyway our car's not bad our balance is close I I feel like I need to do a better job kind of putting my car in the right spot on the track it's just such a fine line it's like pavement out there all the way through the middle and then it's like a hard cushion kind of or like a thick grip Lane so the second you're in it you're almost fighting tight and if you're below it a little bit you're loose like it it's it's very it's really a line and you got to be in the right spot each time and it's difficult to pass because you can't really go anywhere but that so hopefully more Lanes kind of show up so we have an opportunity to move forward moving into this Dash and this will start the first three rows of tonight's a main event so where we finish is where we're going to roll out for the a [Music] oh Go baby go [Music] Rec we coming out here real quick to look at the track just ran the dash uh started sixth got to Fourth battled for third for like a a corner actually technically had third got crossed over and then kind of put myself in a bad spot to where then fifth attacked me and I uh I ended up finishing fifth down here is a little bit wider than three and four as you can see I mean it's right up here forming a cushion and then they just tilled the bottom I think this should help in a pretty big way there's just been nothing really down low all night and it's even hard to clear a slider cuz you you almost just like spin out once you get going through the Slick uh you have to really get yourself in the right spot but hopefully this brings kind of a little bit more of a bottom Lane uh we're working on our car we just haven't really gotten better I feel like through the heat race and the dash we're almost trying so hard I think to get tight and work on getting drive that our car is not going through the corner so our goal for the a is we got to get through smoothly and build more speed and then naturally that will will build momentum and help us just get around Hanford like I said we're almost trying to go so far One Direction I think we're just uh it's just making it harder for me to drive and I'm almost bound up and a little bit tied and anyway like I said it's just it's not really helping my cause so going to walk around the track here check a little bit more of it out see what we uh see what we see and then go make changes for the feature so we just finished all of our changes on our car we're about to roll off from the third row inside starting position for 30 laps really hoping that our lane can get going here on the start I feel like it's a situation where if enough guys maybe all try to get to the top or fight for the middle and we can be patient we might be able to get some cars here right off the start but more than anything it's all about at least maintaining or trying to go forward there in those first couple laps the sooner you can attack and start applying pressure forward the better your odds are at getting towards that top three so our goal run a good race run just as hard on lap one as we can on lap 30 and hopefully our car can maintain that pace as well I think if we can all work together we'll be in route here to a good finish so just got to keep our head on straight and do what we do behind the wheel [Music] [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] w no oh slide up in front of his VTO VTO drives it in hard he'll go out the back side backs it hard into the [Applause] wall Tanner Holmes you're official winner [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] welcome back to California thank as one heck of a run I know I know coo down there hoping everything's going okay but this is about you right now you did one hell of a run nice thank you man yeah know first off I I hope Cole's all right that's not a good spot um there and you know obviously I think I I need to watch it back but just the situation he's not trying to lift I'm not trying to lift we're kind of just going for it uh it was the car to be and you know luckily we just put ourselves in the right spot throughout 30 laps and I need to still work on running a better Pace but we were good enough there just to be right with him well guys we brought home some pretty solid Hardware after 30 laps this feels so good uh wow we only LED we only LED one lap and it was the last lap we didn't even we didn't even lead the whole entire thing we just uh got it there on the back stretch started Fifth and made good work early I told you guys it was going to be so important to attack and I made the bottom work while all the guys were kind of trying to screw around with the top and the middle and it was good in three and four but one and two you just get so hung out to dry and I could kind of get my left front on the BM Netto was right in front of me and I saw him do that and he ripped so I kind of followed him and he got to second I got to Third and then we just kind of started making laps making laps making laps and I think pretty easy to say from our Pace at the beginning I looked like a third place car but then I just like you know man I got to dig a Little Deeper dig a little deeper and I was kind of hanging a little more with nto we got into some traffic had some restarts and then was able to pull a slider on him when I think he maybe got hung in the middle for whatever reason he lost some momentum I got by him and um just got enough to make him lift it was hard to pass man it was uh not the easiest with with the track surface you know it was wide and slick but there wasn't a lot to grab you in three and four you just had to get enough speed to clear the car in front of you so I got by him got to Second and maso who was out front had gotten an incident with a Lap car and I don't know if that affected his Pace at the end he was really fast at the beginning and still quick but there at the end I I think also too we just got a little bit better and I just tried to dig a Little Deeper a little deeper and get through three and four I was good in one and two but in my head I'm like man I if I want to have any shot here I got to clean up my ACT down in three and four and I just got through it a little better a little better and sure enough I got there and he had kind of missed the bottom and then I got next to him and he was able to shut the door and then we went back and forth and then there on the last lap he missed it in one and two and I uh I got my left front right on it and stuck it and uh and that won US the race so we slid there into three and4 and he tried to drive around it and I still need to watch the video but uh just glad that he's all right he went for uh or you know I think took a pretty pretty good pretty wild crash there um off off exit but glad we got to the checkered flag and and glad that we didn't have to run any more laps after that I I crossed underneath it and then I think they threw the yellow so the race was over and uh we got the 18t in Victory Lane pretty cool Carly what do you what' you think you were pretty pumped yeah I felt like I was celebrating by myself on top of the meal so um maybe we could redo that all of us yeah Carly was fun man we she puts a lot into this we all do and it's been a it's been a tough start to the year but I just I just had to dig deep and I just knew every lap it felt like I'm just I'm L telling myself like just get a little more get a little more get a little more and I I was 110% so feels good dad good job what do you think good job we did good we did good dad's pumped nice to get our first win of the year and um and do it with you know like the these races aren't easy to win out here in California 360 racing uh I mean this easily could have had four or five guys that could win an arc race here tonight and just glad that we were able to do our job and come out on top so we made it back to the race shop here in southern or it's a couple days later now and I can tell you that um our wind feels just as good now as it did then it sucks that toari rained out and we only got to run one night for the weekend but also cool that kind of like our wind gets to ride us throughout the week you know it's uh exciting and that momentum definitely will carry us into the rest of our season before we end this video though I want to take a second to thank all the great Partnerships I competition level two that we were racing with earlier in the season because we want to be the best at the highest level against the best teams the biggest competitors and um be one of the best you
