Hi guys good morning welcome to my life yuck, disgusting Take two: Here is the real thing *censored* So again good morning. I'm really not a morning person. So it is always hard for me to wake up in the morning. So right beside my bed, I have a
water heater that goes on when my alarm sounds so I can have brewed coffee while still
in bed this is not a paid promotion But I just want to flex the coffee of my pilot friend, Frankie. He has a coffee named ABYADOR coffee. Try it guys, it is so good. Okay so I have to warn you guys, our schedule for the next 2 days is gonna be hectic. So I already prepared my uniform last night. Then today we'll be deadheading
from Manila to Cebu. Then overnight in Cebu. And then tomorrow Cebu to Narita Japan and
then Japan back to Manila so we have to go now so we won't be late We're all set so let's go Nanny, can you prepare the charcoal grey Mercedes Benz. Nanny??? Nanny???? What the??? Nanny????? NANNY!!!!!! Oh. I just remembered that I don't have a maid so let's just go Now we're here at the office for us to sign in I'm a bit sentimental because before the office is deserted But since the flights are increasing, the number of crews here at dispatch have increased as well. A quick hello to Captain Chito and to Captain Mike Where did you park? There. Then I'll be rushing to the airport now. Good thing there's no traffic because it is also my 1st time to park there. Sir just park upstairs. Just to confirm, there is available parking at the departure area? Yes. I never parked here before because it is always full but it seems there is a lot of space today. So I walked to the check in counter because today I'm just deadheading which means... I'm just a non revenue passenger for the flight going to Cebu. So like a normal passenger, I need a ticket. Where is the counter for deadheading passengers? There on the right. Thank you. I walked to the counter to get help. Hi Good Morning! I just want to get a ticket for my deadhead. And after they helped me, being the naughty that I am, I messed with them a little bit. You with the fabulous hair. You're famous *shies away* HAHAHAHA Hehe joke only miss don't be sensitive. Thank you. Time to head to our airplane. But for me, since I am in uniform, I can pass thru the special lane in the security check Good Morning And then because I am almost everyday here, I already know ins and outs so I can reach the aircraft in 5 mins so 5 mins huh? Lets try to time it. So will you pay me? We can't afford you. Since the aircraft we will use is parked at remote parking bay we have to go
down to the pre-departure area get on the bus just to get to
our plane. So it is really 5 mins huh insider information, it is tradition in our airline to ask permission to the pilots of the flight you're joining in even though they cannot really refuse us, I still do it to say hi. Who is the Captain? It is Captain Paul Lacsamana Good morning sir! Permission to deadhead. Oh sure! I'll vlog as well I walk back to my seat for departure. *sigh* it is safety demo again I'm already tired of it. But I will never get tired of seeing this view. If we are inside the cockpit, we will hear this words maintain runway heading 7000 cleared for
takeoff runway zero six runway heading seven thousand cleared takeoff runway zero six takeoff thrust set 100 knots checked V1 rotate positive climb gear up it's a short flight
to cebu but we had time for a quick cockpit tour Here are the pushbuttons of the systems of the A321 At the very top there are circuit breakers. Other than that, there are also circuit breakers at the back. There are a lot of systems that it will make you dizzy. Hello Cebu! After the pilots shut down the engines, they turn off the fuel pumps. And because this is a quick turnaround flight, the cargo trucks will immediately approach the aircraft to begin unloading and the cargoes. It is very efficient and no wasted time. Good thing the Captains allowed me to have a quick interview with them. This is Captain Paul and on the right
side is Captain Allan. So he showed us the way how to land an aircraft properly. So how long have you been in the Airlines already? It's been 15 years already, I started as a First Officer 15 years go. In the A320? Yes. We haven't flown together right? No, because I was based here in Cebu for 8 years. Oh ok. Because for me I flew the A320 for 2 1/2 years and I never got to fly with him and the reason was because he based here in Cebu during that time. So on our right side is Captain Allan. How about you sir? How long have been flying with the Airline? I've been flying with ******* for around 8 years. We are not allowed to mention the Airline. Let's do it again. So sir Allan, how long have you been flying here with your Airline? I've been flying for 8 years here in ******. Okay. You did it again. Oh sorry. It's ok I'll just blip it. Don't ask me anymore. It's ok sir at least you're good in landing. A little good vibes before they fly back to manila Safe flight. Thank you sir. Now let me show you how busy your Cabin Crews are if it is a quick turn around They say goodbye to the passengers. Then they do a Cabin Check to see if there are left behind items and they will sanitize the Airplane. Then there will be a Security Guard that will come up to do a security check. Are you doing a security check? Yes. So after the passengers have disembarked, there will be a guard that will come up to do a security check. What's your name? Apa. Apa? Yes. Okay I'm Mike. Thank You. Don't forget to say thank you to your cabin crew but of course before I go down, I will mess with them a little bit. Bye! Hey chitchats are not allowed during work Joke only! There are no passengers. But I was the one who keeps on having chitchats earlier. I did not bring a swimsuit I'll just not wear anything in the swimming pool later. Of course you want to show them your perks. What will I show? Your perks. Perks. I thought you said we will show something else It's not allowed we might get bashed. Okay time to go to our hotel. We head
down to the ramp because our pick up is there. Oh my we will go down the stairs. We load our things in the truck but we were informed that we need to go to the arrival area of the airport. So we went up the bridge again. Guys I'll just flex my co host who is a supermodel. Here is our co host, Franco So we walked to the baggage claim. It feels surreal because before there are a lot of people here but now we are the only ones here. We passed by the arrival area then get on our shuttle after
that we set our pickup time for tomorrow's flight So tomorrow it is 7:45 right? Huh? Tomorrow it is 7:45 in the morning. Will he pick us up tomorrow? Yes. Okay so it is 7:45 AM. I will say it now guys something will go wrong. Oh my
god. Within 2 minutes, we arrived at waterfront hotel Mactan We get off the car take a quick look
around because it is also my first time here. The hotel is a little bit old but it is fine. We check in, then walk to our rooms so we can start resting. *sigh* I got tired guys because I narrated. So let's slow down, chill because tomorrow we will have a long day ahead. Okay guys so we're here we're still here at the hotel I just woke up and washed my face. I was so sleepy. But I'll give you a room tour So here are the beds. I don't know why they gave me 2 beds. It's a small room but it is decent and the air conditioning is okay. So guys here is our view. *Drum Roll* Wow rooftops. Our view is full of rooftops. The mayor of Cebu has been generous to us. She sent us a dove and not just any dove but doves that they use in weddings. But she only sent one because I have no lover. Oh it left ****. So here in the left is the airport, Mactan airport. They have the remote parking bays there. Sometimes we park there back in my 320 days and then behind that are the taxiways and runway. Our food already arrived at the lobby. So I'm on my way to get our food delivery from food panda. But before that I'll share my OOTD first. Check it out distressed shirts are what's in right now. What's in right now are clothes that looks like after 2 washes it can be a rag already. Thank you. So we're going to the 3rd floor. Check this out guys they have city break by the pool. Here are their amenities. You can also have a birthday blowout. You'll have a free skin whitening procedure so you'll look like her after your birthday. You can also do dine and fly. They are also serving headless fish. Headless fish are my favorite. Wait the doors closed on let's go back. Okay guys so we're back in the room.
The food that we had delivered is here already. It's already 3 pm here in Cebu and I'm only gonna have my lunch because like when I got to the hotel I was so sleepy so I had to sleep for about two hours. I'm just really not a morning person and secondly don't bash me if I am sitting on the floor to show you my food because this place is the only one that has good lighting. For me whenever travel to our layover like Dubai, Sydney, Melbourne, Korea I always want to sample the local food there because I think it's the best way for any traveler to assimilate the local culture I heard the roasted suckling pig is very famous here in Cebu that's why we ordered... Chowking This is local food. Just kidding, this is Chinese food. Chinese style fried chicken. I really like fried chicken and then of course, the never ending Halo Halo. (Famous desert) I'm really craving this right now and Captain Erik fed me this the other day at his house however he only gave me a small one so I bought the larger one today. So Captain Erik next time buy me the large one as well. So I watched my favorite show while eating then during the evening, I browsed my Facebook a little bit and I had to finish some training modules for work. Then it is time for my beauty rest. Goodnight guys. The next day, I'm so gorgeous ****. Guys, Good Morning today is our actual flight. Time check it is 7:25 AM so I have roughly 15-20 minutes to go down, check out and then have
breakfast. At around 7:45 AM I'll meet my Captain. we can take the shuttle going to the airport. So I go down to the breakfast area to meet my Captain. I'll show you how pilots prepare for their flights. First we get our Ipads and download the latest charts and latest flight plan, then we check the flight details like what aircraft we will use that day. We check the NOTAMS (Notice to Airmen) to get information about the airports we will fly to then we check the flight routing, we check the weather and as you can see, we have a typhoon on our flight path. So I'm here at the restaurant and unfortunately there was no buffet here. The problem is I was a little late coming down and the order will take a long time. Luckily the hotel was kind enough to have my food to go. So guys right now our shuttle is running late Remember what I told you earlier that something will happen? Here it is. The shuttle was late so we had to rush going to the airport. Good thing the hotel has a backdoor entrance so we can go to the airport faster. Because it is also our first time in this newly renovated airport, we got lost a bit. Go to gate 1 sir. Is it over there? Yes sir. Once we get to the airport we approach the check in counter so the ground agents can assist us. Is the person there? Yes sir. Okay thank you. After the security check, there is a person who fetched us to escort us to the immigration and to lead us to our aircraft. We felt like VIPs. As I've mentioned earlier it is also my first time here in the newly renovated Mactan Airport. Pilot tip. Once you arrive at the aircraft, the 1st thing you will do is to build your nest. That means you prepare your workspace So I will get an alcohol and wipes to disinfect the cockpit and my instruments For today, I am the PM or Pilot Monitoring for the flight from Cebu to Narita, Japan. Here are my duties as PM. First, I do a preliminary cockpit preparation where I do some checks on the aircraft systems. APU Fires Test. I get the weather. This Mactan Cebu International Airport information Alpha Once I have the weather, I do a preliminary takeoff computation Then I show my computation to the Captain to cross-check .After that I go down to the ramp and do the walkaround where I check the exterior of the aircraft. So as you can see guys we just finished the walkaround. It's really noisy here at the ramp. We just checked the aircraft and then we are on our way back to the cockpit to prepare for the flight. By the time I get back to the cockpit, the Pilot Flying or on this leg the Captain should be done preparing the MCDU. I cross check the box and then the Captain then briefs me for the take off. Emergency briefing, Standard Crew Coordination. Secondary Flight plan is straight out then at 1500 feet left turn back to Mactan and hold at Mactan. Usually the flight preparation is being done during passenger boarding which takes a long time but since we're flying a cargo flight today, we need to do a quick preparation. Once we're ready we ask for ATC clearance. However since the route were taking is unfamiliar to us, I did not understand the ATC clearance the 1st time. I had to ask ATC to repeat the information We do a before start checklist to
make sure we didn't forget anything. Once we're all set, we close
the doors and arm the slides Ok let's now go to Japan. Finally I have now time to eat my breakfast however my American Breakfast became like a Filipino Halo Halo. So remember earlier we will pass thru a typhoon? Here it is. Here is our Weather Radar in the cockpit. Fun fact it doesn't really detect clouds but rather the water droplets inside the cloud. So as you can see we're flying the plane through that clear corridor as Pilot Monitoring, I log the fuel and timings for every waypoint. We can already get the weather at Narita ahead of time we can have it printed out and then reviewed my gosh there is whiskey sierra meaning wind shear. I haven't been to Japan lately so I have to review my notes. The captain then prepares for the approach, I double check and then the Captain will brief me. Within four hours, we landed and here we are welcome to Japan I really missed this place So guys we are here in Narita on our
ground stop we arrived a bit earlier so we initially had 2 hours of a ground stop but we were just informed by the ramp agent that they think they can be able to depart 30 minutes early so right now we have another 1 hour before our next departure so we take this time to prepare the flight plan, the box or the MCDU as we say it do the briefing and then underneath they are refueling the aircraft and loading the cargo okay so that's it I'll just prepare the MCDU or our computers prepare for the next fight because the Captain might catch me vlogging. I'll get back to you later. I check my notes again because I haven't taken off in Narita in a very long time. Once I have all the information I need, I prepare the MCDU for departure. The Captain will be Pilot Monitoring for the flight to Manila. That means we will switch our roles. He will be the one cross checking what I did and then I will brief him for the take
off. Standard in Emergency. In case of failure, I will hand over to you the controls and we will do everything what we briefed out of Narita. While we are preparing in the cockpit, they're loading the cargo at the same time. That is why we are super busy. Before we depart, we make sure
we have all the cargo documents but it seems something is missing. Hi! Do you have the the fuel receipt? You haven't received it yet? Okay time to go. The flight back to
Manila is a bit longer because of a headwind It's advisable to take breaks in between flying if we feel numb because of sitting down a long time. Here's a quick tour in the galley. Here are our supplies. They put the meals here. Everything is here already usually. So here is our juice. Ok let's get 1 We also have our PPEs, alcohol, sanitizing wipes, some spray bottles stored here. In case something spilled over we have our Universal Precaution Kit (UPK) and then on this side there are always cookies here. We also have coffee, tea, apples, fruits but you have to get your own because it is only self service. Our inflight meals are frozen so we need to heat it using these ovens. I take a walk in the cabin to stretch my legs. I remember when this cabin used to be filled with 436 passengers but now we have 436 empty seats. This is what the aviation industry looks like A year after all this started we're just happy to be even flying. No matter how long and tiring this flight is, we still find reasons to
go through it. It's our survival instinct It's the love for what we do. And who wouldn't if in the end you will be rewarded with a view like this So to our viewers and fellow aviators,
DON'T FOLD YOUR WINGS JUST KEEP FLYING. Admit it I spoke English eloquently. Anyway, we are already here in Manila and it is already night time. So we go through immigration in the arrival area but I cannot go home yet. My day is not yet done for I still have to go back to the office to drop off the documents that we got from the flight. So guys, that is the day in the life or
two days in the life of an Airline/Cargo Pilot. Aviators, Pilots and Cabin Crews have really long work days but as you can see the amount of workload fluctuates. So I hope you enjoyed our episode and we hope in the future we can have more day in the life in other destinations once it comes back. Again this is Pilot Mike and this is the pilotalkshow.
