A Day in the Life of a Kindergarten Teacher

I generally get here around 7:15 to try to prepare for the day writing my morning message making last minute coffees I'm kind of getting things settled morning work out so that when they come in to eat breakfast I'm ready to greet them so they'll come in I will greet them help them kind of put their things away especially now that it's winter helping them get their coats off their gloves off things like that and then they go within their breakfast and they in the classroom for about a half an hour and when they finish the work on the morning it's really fun in the morning to be able to create the kids and then season still comes to visit so friends from last year that are in first grade still come and even I had some of my first-year students who are in fourth grade now and they came by and said good morning and so it's really special to still have those relationships some of the other feels remembered how babies well after lunch they can't go to specials so that's our time to have tea meetings and you know get prepared for the end of the day and then when they got back from specials we were able to finish writing and then go into math where they're learning simple addition right now which is really exciting now that they have more concept of numbers and counting we can start putting it together so they were able to practice some addition and then because they weren't able to have a full recess because of the weather we got to have them to some brain breaks and get them moving and up and so that really helps and then we had snack time and we're able to back up and get ready for a car line from here I will be going to a meeting and I am the kindergarten content teacher leader for reading and phonics and so I have a meeting with my curriculum coordinator to talk about planning and a lot of little planning meetings and then I'll go home and work on some lesson plans and then that'll be done for the day I mean I love teaching each day as a new day they're never the same and so it's hard to know what to expect but it keeps it interesting because you don't know and that day and really just being with the kids my favorite part of seeing them grow seeing them learn they are so sweet and so that's really good
