what's going on world I'm your host Jorge kill and welcome to episode 2 of sneak peek season 6 also known as the specifics following John Wexler's all adidas collection in episode 1 we now present to you one of the greatest air jordan compilations in existence Detroit native Marc Bostick has been collecting Jordan since 1985 and has two things to show for it a basement full of 800-plus Jordans and unparalleled knowledge of each and every shoe so sit back relax and watch part one of a sneak peek inside Jumpman Bostick's amazing sneaker basement alright everyone we're here in Detroit with my man Marc Bostick aka jump man Buster how you doing nice to meet you nice to meet you as well so Jeremy Guthrie told me we had to stop by here that's my man I met Jeremy a couple years ago are there in town the Royals were playing the Tigers I met him up at Pogo and he's come by a few times since he's been coming back and forth to the city he said you have something that it's just crazy in there I just have a wide variety of jordan shoes from the beginning of flight in 1985 through the current from team shoes the retros the originals the boots boxing shoes baseball shoes is just a wide variety down in the basement of the jail all right okay good food put some pressure on you so let's go check it out let's check it out we'll start over here this starts with the packages that came out the defining moments the countdown packs the DMPs then I have some of my display shoes that are in the ice box containers and then we start with the Jordan ones down here and then we work our way back where we were I have the majority of Jordan ones but I love the Jordan eights so here are all the ones and my wife's idea to put pictures on the boxes because one day we were going out and I was down here looking for certain color ways Xuan's he said you just put pictures on the boxes so that makes it easier to just go and pick what shoe I want so here's the tools then we go to the threes hit the fours and then the fives and then we go all the way around until we get to the 28th which are right here and they just go in numbers right here this is just a numbered section and then behind you are the Jordan boots and you know they did a collab with cole haan years ago and this is the lab boot the 2/3 profiler is another boo you know when I put on my casual or dress where I have the Roy Jones jr. trainers just a little bit of everything tell me how did all of this start tell me your connection with Michael Jordan the basic connection is we were born in the same month the same year I'm just two days older than him we were in college at the same time me and my roommate in college Chris we used to run home from practice to watch UNC play and he left college early to go to the NBA and then once I saw the Jordan ones I was hooked on them the Chicago's is my very first shoe in my collection which is right here from 1985 it's still wearable I still wear it to this day and I wore it earlier this year and it's one of my favorites in my collection about how many pairs is in this entire basement I have 840 pairs tell me about the significance of the 8 why is that your favorite the 8 is units from the third championship the first three-peat and it's just those straps there's something about the straps how you rock it without you know strapping them and when you walk is just making that that click Clank sound is just and it's a real comfortable balling shoe back in the day was one of my favorite shoes to plan this one here is is a custom I had done by mosh as you remember that only 24 of these originally were made and they released at a house of hoops and right now these shoes are around $3,500 for the original one that came out the playoff 8 for Boston with Ray Allen and you know the difference is the sock liner would be green on the original one so I had to have a custom of that made my favorite is the playoff 8 my all-time faith in J put in working this you know against the Phoenix Suns section of 8 right here but mainly starting down here I also had a custom made because I'm a big Ray Allen fan and L Cappy is a well-known custom design and he made these for me and also I wrapped my shoes and tiles it seems to preserve them a little better than leaving them in the boxes with the paper I take the paper out and replace them and I got the Phoenix Sun eight how was that a sneaker event up in Indianapolis and I got these I'm a real big fan of the eight have all of the H that came out the Chrome the aquas and of course the Bugs Bunny back in the good days when they came with the retro cards and all of that I've been a Ray Allen fan for a long time and when a taint teamed up to go to the Boston Celtics with Kevin Garnett and teamed up with the truth and then they win won a title there I really got back into basketball because after MJ retired it just wasn't the same to me but Ray just is his style the way he shoots how he conducts himself you know these are one of my face the 20s from Seattle had to get the the Ray Allen 13 that is my all-time favorite in the basement of the Jays out of all of my shoes the eight of my favorite model but that is my all-time favorite my collection and then you got a beer a allen 15 believe it or not I got this shoe for $29.95 at the Nike outlet here's the Box 29.95 it's just not heard of nowadays you know to find a PE at the Nike out there then I have the Jordan Flight team which is another rapey from when he was with Boston this is a is a custom and I call that the Ray Allen championship two from the Jordan - you know a lot of people don't show love to the Jordan tools and I'm a I'm a fan of the Jordan - so I had that one made to show tribute to Ray for his second championship with the Miami Heat and here is the other one right here you know when I wore this shoe people actually thought this was an actual PE for Ray Allen and then this one here is the 11 from the white and red Lowe from 2012 this was done by a young man he's 15 years old out in in California and he really hooked this up and I wanted this to be the ring ceremony 11 low you know ray wore a high-top version of this the very first game and his was white had a white upper so I had a red when made as the away version this was a custom I had made for the Ray Allen 13 I wore this to the sneaker event down in Kansas City KC so another tribute to Ray Allen now when I wore this shoe people were saying oh it's glossy it looks fake but then you look at the champagnes a few months later they came out glossy let's talk about this Seattle before yeah that's a custom shoe I had done because I wanted you know it's just another Ray Allen tribute that's by a local customizer here named millionaire in the Detroit area he did that one as well as the the Ray Allen - so he did both of those for me a custom I had done by a guy out in Oakland California I had an extra pair of the Chicago tins so I just wonder Irish because they released a red shoe in gs for the ladies so I wanted one for myself so I ended up having that one customized I had made my astro turf customs a guy out of Chicago because I can't get a hold of the bin 9 but also it was a bin 9 low for Marshall Faulk when he was with the st. Louis Rams but I just said just put that bin stamp on it and he killed it he made it he made it look just like a Ben this was the white laser for and got on in Kansas City named Ray did these for me the netting was turning like dark tan on one of the shoes and the other shoe it hadn't turned at all and I just didn't like the way it looked and I like red shoes so I just had him go ahead and just make it into a red laser for the black cat 3 you know that was a nickname given to MJ because he was so quick and and and defensive proudness he was just one of those just super quick players so his nickname became black cat so that's where the nickname for this shoe came this was the original shroud that covered the laces up so I had these in in the blue and also in the white and the red and I had this custom that was done by a guy out in Kansas City I saw MJ on a button wearing these shoes and I had never seen anybody with this shoe on and it was you know one of one for him so I figured I'd had that made awesome one thing I want to get into is we talked earlier how you have a connection with him same month same year year his age obviously so show us in here the shoes that show that you've been in it for a while yeah very first ones from 85 to 90 for two lows if you see pictures of MJ like right here on this waiting's box he's wearing the two lows but he has black laces in his shoes and you know a lot of people didn't identify with the low top versions even back in 94 but MJ Rock low tops in games the threes which is what saved Jordan Brant or Nike because the MJ was going to leave his mother convinced him to go in and meet with with Nike and they took tinker off of another shoe he was working on and then you came with the with the three and and you know the rest is history and then the force and the five you know it was one game MJ wore the fives with the white laces against the Milwaukee Bucks for just one game and then also with the bent fives which are right there they hey they came and released with the white laces then we have the fire red fives the cement fours the toe cap tens which were recalled and is there's only a handful of those out because MJ didn't like the toe cap so he hacks actually had that shoe recall back in 1994 and then they released another version without the toe cap but I kept mine instead of returning it back to the store because I liked the toe cap I think it looks it looks better the toe cap was basically put on there for when you when you jump and sometimes you drag your toe when you're going to dunk and you would like put scratch marks you could tear the leather on your toe box area of the shoes the snakeskin the cherry and the baby blues I'm a big fan of the low-cut shoes and they're all still wearable you know I'm a big fan of wearing my shoes and I believe if you wear them they do last longer instead of keeping these dad's stock from 2001 then trying to put them on soon as you take a step they gonna crack on you the same with with these which are coming back out in that remastered version the Oreo and Mo cos all still wearable this is a 1 of 1 MJ used to own this shoe himself this was a shoe that he wore back in 2010 you know d-wade was the signature person for the 2010 field a tongue on that that's way none of the other 2010s have that and this was a one-on-one for him and it has his name in there in his size 13 so this was this colorway was made just to see if he actually liked the 2010 this is a autograph k 54 by Ray Allen you know it's a vent over in France a street ball event that he plays in one of my subscribers from over in France that hey I can get Ray Allen assign this shoe would you like with me to do that and you know I get a lot of love from people not only in the States but overseas as well as because they know that if they get something for me that I'm not going to resell it I'm not a reseller I have sold shoes to people that it meant sentimental things to them but at a reasonable prey price not a reselling price I got these rip Hamilton twelves from 2004 when they beat the Lakers you know so those mean a lot to me as well then also these are autographed and up top this is a lot of people's favorites you know 13 s people really love the 13 so this one is autographed and if on a tongue it has is not a Jones it's pretty sweet pretty rare pretty rare shoe to have and have it autographed is that addy Jones 14 with the Grizzly yes like Ray Allen had the best the best Pease in my opinion of anybody with Jordan Brown feel that toe cap on that swaye you can see the change of the material when you run your finger across there and all you know all of your Pease they'll have a promo in there and but the other one I showed you actually have MJ's name in it so his shoes are a little different so then he has EJ right there the perfect pair and dependable J and we talk a lot and you know with with a lot of people in the culture right now it's a competition thing but we complement each other on on things and that's what I like about those guys and even dependable J was trying to get my Ray Allen 15s out of me and my 20s you know because it's this stuff that some of us don't have that that we're looking for that other people have but you know some things are just not sellable you know go into detail on that because I feel like a lot of people these days try to compete with each other in regards to what they have and when it should be just basically about what your passion is your passion is you know Jordans all kinds of Jordans you have boots originals some of the newest ones correct I've experienced that with with the hate where people saying that I'm not a true collector because all I have at Jordans I'm not diverse I'm just stuck to one brand the one brand does it for me you know I've been rocking these same shoes since you know for 29 years now since 1985 86 what I try to express to people is it's about what you like but the people that hate on other people to me is are the people who wish they had what you have you know and the people that I know where I surround myself with we're not bragging we're just trying to show the history and that's what I think I have here in the basement it's just a total history from 1985 on I had to Roy Jones jr. boxing shoes which I'll show you I have the cleats from Warren Sapp also Eddie George was part of Jordan Brand back in the day Charles Woodson and these are the baseball cleats actually Jeremy Guthrie ended up getting a pair of these after seeing mine these are Warren Sapp and what a lot of people don't know on knees this is actually a two and a three four two three this white metallic they put the a Jordan and didn't spell out fully Jordan they spelled Jordan wrong this is one of the rare boxes that they did that on because other people with a size 13 or size 14 it didn't happen on every box I think a person who made this box asleep CC Sabathia fusion baseball cleats from when he was with Cleveland Jordan golf shoes I don't know I mean people have seen those with the patent leather crossed there and then Jordan his baseball cleats Derek Jeter rock these not this particular pair I do the history of the shoes I read a lot I googled a lot I know I'm jumping around but it's just so much that I that I like it's just a passion that I have it's a shoe that was made that was put together with my scrap materials from different shoes Air Jordan 1 J 2 K hi I asked people at a recent show what do you think this shoe symbolizes these are all the team's MJB for the six championships seattle the blue is is for Utah because the second time around they were wearing the blue the red was for Portland and then the orange is Phoenix because they be Utah twice so this shoe was made from scrap materials all sewn together this was a quick strike that came out in 2010 a lot of people slept on this shoe retro ones I can't even I could even get the ones that just recently came up with the nike air you know they're going for over $1,000 now but these were the original metallic gold ones you spoke about the history so we're gonna play a little game give me your five most memorable Jordan moments and the shoes he wore during those moments oh wow okay number one is the spectacular move against the Lakers dunk contest you know the shooter saved Jordan Brand really the Jordan one Boston you know the 63 you know against Phoenix you know there's just an incredible incredible playoff and then I say the last one would be in sevens when he was hitting all those threes it's a lot of gems that are above the Jordan 13 that people don't know about and this is the section we're in now so I'm gonna go through a few
