hey guys fishing and stuff today we got more awesome fishing hacks for you and i really think you might find something you like so stick around today i got more awesome fishing hacks and everybody loves fishing hacks uh i don't like fishing you stay at this honestly i don't like fishing either really um just don't go good for me hack number one but this hack ain't really a hack but it kinda is a hack because of solving a problem you can get these ties at harbor freight and their silicone which means nothing will stick to them and they're heat resistant which means they're going to last a long time you can get to 12 inch and you can get a 24 inch tie the good thing is these things are not very expensive here's one of the first anchors i ever made and you can use one of these ties to hold your anchor up together so it don't get in a mess and you can use it over and over again let's just say you got a bunch of fishing rods and they're all over the place and you need to hug them to the lake and you need to keep them together so they don't get all messed up well these ties are the perfect solution for that let's see out there crappie fishing with your green fishing light on when you put these fishing lights out a lot of times i wrap the cable around the cleat or something which could break the copper wires inside this cable well you could take one of these ties and just wrap it to the click that way i think these will be pretty dang handy i mean you can use these things for a lot of stuff and like i said they're pretty dang cheap hack number two if you have a auto deploy trolling motor like this one with the 60 inch shaft then you know when you're going down the road they bounce a lot because the shaft's so long well there's all kinds of diys that you can make things to hold these things still but most of them you had to attach them to your deck to use them these pieces of pvc right here that's like a half a piece and this is the way they come they're made to clip on and they got threads on the bottom well the three-quarter inch pieces they just happen to fit on these shafts perfect and they stay on there and they don't hurt your little strip that's inside here well if you take one of these pieces and then get you a threaded piece that'll fit in it that'll accept the three-quarter inch piece of pipe i found this little rubber plug over in the hardware section at lowe's put a little glue on it and i knocked it in with my dead blow now all you have to do is measure this piece and cut it and assemble these two pieces together glue your piece of pvc inside of it and then you got your little brace that holds up your trolling motor when you go down the road so it can't bounce anymore that's actually pretty cool and i got this idea from a subscriber he sent me some pictures of the one he made and i thought it was so cool i had to do it on his he took some of these little tarp bungees you can cut them to length and retime you could drill you a hole in here and strap this thing down but i find that it don't want to come off anyway so i don't think strapping it down is really necessary but you could and it ain't a bad idea to use one of these and you know what you could use one of them little ties i was talking about just so handy to do the same thing to tie this thing down with now all i need to do is paint this thing black and it's going to look like i bought it now that right there is awesome hack number three i'm taking some great stuff and we got a regular cougar it's actually my bait cooler that i had on the video from last week where i made the new cooler well i talked about how the lid was insulated and everybody was like you can fill it with phone and that's a great point i could fill it with phone but the reason i made my new cooler is because of the handle and the fact that it locked down so the lid didn't come up and easy that new cool is pretty dang cool but they had a very good point so we're going to put foam in this lid using this great stuff expandable foam first thing we need to do is drill some holes in the lid the way we'll determine our hole sizes with this little nozzle that comes with it we want to drill them the same size it is i just drilled enough holes around in the lid so i could spread the foam out evenly it'll expand and it'll come out these holes and then we'll trim it out the next step is we want to spray our foam in the hose all right so this is the mess i have left after the foam has hardened inside the cooler lid and as you can see it just comes right off next you can just pull these off and it doesn't hurt nothing it leaves the foam in it but when you're done with it you've got an insulated lid that's hollow so now when we got our bait fish in our core the sun won't be beating down and penetrating it and making the water hot anymore fishing hack number four on this fishing hack i've seen something online that goes on your compartment hatch and all it is is magnets and it holds lures and it's really kind of cool because it holds the hooks so they won't get hung and everything well way you could do that is with some of these magnet strips that i got at harbor freight they weren't very high i got two of them i need to go ahead and open these up so i took and screwed these magnets to this board but if you wanted to put them in your compartment lid you could use double-sided tape or something like that but imagine this is your compartment lid and it's open you can just take your lures and just set them on this magnetic strip and they stick right to it now you got all your lures on here you can just close your compartment door and they'll stay on that's pretty dang cool right there and if you need to get one of them off you just pull it off and your hooks don't get all hung together don't you even think about it another cool thing about this is it's a magnet so pretty much anything was still on it it's going to stick to it that's pretty dang cool and it really is a good idea number five on this hack you probably remember the nocturnal nasty hooks i had on my last hack video and how they put that sleeve on it so that your knot will grip better and that sleeve covers up where the hook comes together too to keep your line from slipping through well on this hack we're gonna make our own using some heat shrink tubing and i did find out playing around with it that the cheap stuff works better the real thin stuff because it's easier to maneuver onto the hook but you can use either kind this is the cheap stuff from harbor freight i cut the pieces down to around three quarters of an inch then you just slide it on your hook and after you slide on your hook make sure you get it up on the eye some so it covers up that slot then you take your heat gun heat it up shrink it and after you're finished you got you some hooks made just like the nocturnal nasty with the little snail knock gripper that makes it hold a little bit better they say i use the white because you can see it easier plus this stuff's cheaper harbor freight that actually turned out pretty dang cool fishing hack number six while we're on the subject of hooks i think i put this on video before but i don't believe it was on a hack video but you can go check watch my hat videos this is on there tell me and i'm sorry but i like a really aggressive offset on my hook these hooks are for catfish and they make some really good hooks look at that catfish hook catfish clothing hook right there catfish and they do have an offset but it's not what i'd call an aggressive offset like i like so what i do is i take me two pair of pliers and i put a little bit more offset in it but be real careful when you're doing it don't force it because hooks are tempered and they will break if you ain't careful but most hooks aren't that brittle you can bend them a little bit and it doesn't hurt them and i did this to my hooks a lot and i hadn't had any trouble with them so i don't think it's a very big deal fishing hack number seven on this hack you know the little beads that you use for fishing these come out of the craft section for 98 and it's just a little bag and that's about how much the fishing beads are too but if you buy a big bag of beads at hobby lobby or somewhere i think i paid 350 for the bag this one came in and it was 500 or a thousand i got these things everywhere i got them in about every box i own but you can get any color you want you can get any size you want so you have way more options and are way more versatile me personally i like buying them to match the color of my line because i'm weird like that but what a beads for is to protect your knot and your swivel where it's tied at you see how this side of the bead looks well when you flip it over this side's kind of beat up because the sinker's been beaten on this side instead of your knot and that's the purpose of a bead but for now look in the craft section and by your beads don't buy them from the fishing section at the fishing store fishing hack number eight i use a whisker seeker net and actually it's pretty dang nice i like the way that the handle comes out i like the fact that it's got a cover with it one of the things i like about is that the net material is rubber coated but you can do this yourself with any net if we take a can of flex seal we can accomplish the same thing with any net it's basically liquid rubber also flex seal comes in clear it comes in black and it comes in white i know those colors it may come in something else and generally most places around 12 dollars a can i bought this at lowe's and just so you know where i live lowe's was cheaper than harbor freight that's kind of hard to believe actually but i got a piece of cardboard right here and i got some netting material so we're just gonna use this instead of doing a whole net because my net's already rubberized but i will tell you this this net material is a lot smaller than my net the netting on my net is larger so it's going to be looser and softer if you do a net that's real small like this it's going to be a little bit stiffer all really need to do is take it shake up our can good and then we're going to spray a coating on one side of the net after that dries we'll flip it over and do the other side of the net and once your rubber dries you've got a rubber coated net just like the one i got and it's actually pretty pliable that flex seal works pretty good so if you want a rubberized net make you a rubberized knit i'm gonna tell you right now them fishing has turned out awesome whatever i still don't like fishing hacks you shut up hey guys if you hadn't yet go over and check out my channel page especially if you like diys cause i got a lot of
