[Music] hey everyone I want to go ahead and make another video here um this will be version two of this eight Port drro box if you are curious about version one you can find the other videos down below um it shows you how to make an eight-port Dro but this one's going to be a little bit different I'm going to go ahead and make some standoffs from the power supply and I'm also going to include um four power injection areas so let's get started here I have 3D printed a template um so I go ahead and pre-drill all my holes um that I'm going to use before I used to use some uh some tape and a sharpy and they just didn't line up very straight so I thought hey we should go ahead and 3D print one of these and and so that's what we did and it uh turned out really great I'm go ahead and use an E8 in drill bit here to drill all my pilot holes you can see on the bottom of the box here I am drilling uh the feet out because I'm going to go ahead and make the standoffs there this is a fan shroud that I 3D printed as well um it's going to go on the top here for some ventilation as you can see here these are the sizes of holes that I need to drill that I've included in here so the first ones are going to be these 1/ in holes that I'm going to use with a/ in Step bit these are going to be for the outputs as well as the power injection so we're going to put some pg7 in there in a little bit all right next we're going to take the 1 and 38 in Step bit make a hole for our fan going to come up here to the top right take a 1in step bit make a hole for our cat six pass [Music] through and then take a 5/8 in Step bit we're going to make that for our pg9 that's our power input down there so we're going to grab some pg7 strain reliefs and we're going to populate all those holes right now some pg7 [Music] glands okay next we're going to take our pg9 gland going to go ahead and populate the uh Power hole down [Music] there [Music] and now we're going to take our cat 6 pass through we're going go ahead and install [Music] that [Music] all right now we're going to goe and grab our fan it's a 50x 15 mm blower fan you can get a pack of five or a pack of 10 on Amazon I think I got we're going to go ahead and take this m3x 20 mm bolt and we're going to go ahead and uh screw those in there it's a little tight fit put our fan in screw the nuts on on the back of it here and make sure that blower the intake is coming and shooting up so it can provide good air flow for our box here I went ahead and cut off the connector I'm going to use a spade connectors I'm not going to use their connector that I came with now next I'm going to add this 8 mm 5vt LED this wasn't on the original template I decided to add this later um I'm going go and take this center punch it's a 5 in Nico center punch I got that off of Amazon as well give me a little starter a starter punch there for my drill [Music] bit went ahead and put in the LED light and now we have everything populated we have our pg7 glands we have our 8 mm light our fan our cat 6 pass through and and we also have our pg9 which is going to be our power input all right now we're going to start building our stand offs this is a 1024x 3 in screw so we're going to go ahead and go from the bottom down here and goad and screw the nut on and this is going to start our standoffs here here I've got a 5volt power supply I got from wired Watts the good guys over at wired Watts always take care of me I've made these L brackets I 3D printed them but if you can find anything with an L bracket or anything like that um you can use that you don't have to have a 3D printer you can get them at Home Depot but I went and 3D printed [Music] them went ahead and made an e/ in hole in both of these brackets here then I take this M 4 by 5 mm and that's the thread of those uh Power Supplies went ahead and installed that we're going to go ahead and start building our cable leads that are going to be our main power coming in to our drro as well as our power injector so I'm going to show you guys how we twist these cables together the cable I'm using is called SJ oow cable um it's a stranded 12 gauge cable um you get at Home Depot you only need about a foot of this to work with I take the two cables I strip the jacket back and I grab two colors that I like here I'm using red and white the red and White's going to be the main input for my main board as you can see I take the two cables put it them on my drill grab one in spin the drill up and that's how you get them to tie together there so here I'll show you one more time I take my black and green this is going to be the leads for my power injector I take one in I put it in the drill tighten the drill down grab the other end and then just spin your drill up and that's going to make him nice and candy cane like and that's how that's done so on one end I'm going to go ahead and uh strip these back and I'm going to put some Fork connectors on them uh these are going to be the ends that are actually going to attach to the 5vt power supply [Music] again the red and white that's going to power my my main drro and the green and black that's going to power my power injector drro the other end we're going to strip back and just leave them bare wire but I don't like to terminate bare wire as you can get an air wire that wants to uh jump over or somewhere else you don't get good contact so I go ahead and anytime I strip a wire back and I'm going to terminate a wire I tin them so here I am I end uh our our two inputs that are coming here I'm going to end the the ends of our fan and the ends of our little 5vt LED we're going to tie the fan and the LED together and put a fork connector on both of [Music] those again positive positive negative to negative here I found a a power cable laying around it's got the the Edison end on one end and I cut off the other end so we're going to strip those back put Forks on those that's going to be our main 120 volt coming into the power [Music] supply so let's go ahead and line some of these things up here I'm going to go ahead and loosen up the 5vt power supply here's my input coming in from the house so the black is going to be my positive my white is going to be the [Music] neutral and the green is going to be the [Music] ground next I'm going to hook up the 5vt fan and light connection here and I'm going to go to the extreme outsides of these so I'm going to go ahead and hook up the negative first that's going to be at the top there so you got three negative poles and and three positive poles on these 5vt power supplies so I've put the negative at the top I'm going to split it and put the positive at the bottom down [Music] here and next I'm going to do the leads for my power injector I'm using the green green for the ground and the black for the positive and I'm going to use [Music] the white for the ground and the red for the positive for my board now this piece here I got this from Home Depot it's just a piece of real thick plexiglass and I was going to show you how I made the holes but everybody's boards different so the concept is going to be the same I laid the boards on top of this piece of plexiglass I made the holes where the boards are going to land and I'm just making standoffs here with the um M3 screws that I have so you can see the bottom board this is a uh the bong 69 board that I'm using for my 8 Port LED drro and the top one is my power injection drro that I got um off of Facebook Marketplace someone had a couple of them laying around so I bought those from there but any dis drill will work um just you need to customize your layout for this I've taken the thickness of the board and now I'm going to make the standoff uh for this board and so I have an a scrap piece here and I'm putting the nuts on here and I'm making sure the thickness um is just under so I can tighten the bolt on top I forgot to make a hole for my fan shroud so I went ahead and did that I'm going to go ahead and wire up um first the input side to my power injection next I'm going to connect my input to my power supply so labeling and organization is a huge key to troubleshooting when you have run into problems here so these are some heat shrink wraps that I got from wired watts.com again shout out to those guys those are good people down there they make these heat shrink wraps and so I went ahead and I label all my inputs and all my outputs of all my cables I label them on both sides here and so I heat shrink uh the cables that are going to be my power injectors and they say 5vt clearly written on them and they're all the same color so that I can know that the yellow is my 5vt here I am feeding in the power injection cables went ahead and made four holes at the top of my power drro at the top up here [Music] so those my four power injection cables and now we can go ahead and secure the top of this on here so now this is screwing down to those other those other bolts that I have already in there so the offset's sitting on there and it gives me a good couple inch Gap in there for air now I'm going to do my eight outputs for my eight Port controller again same thing I've labeled both sides of it you just want to double check and make sure that your Phoenix connector and the positive negative and data are lined up correctly [Music] [Music] [Music] I [Music] well there you have it here is the finished product here you can see I have two more holes there in case I want to add two more ports for power injection um there's my8 Port LED drro uh by bong 69 once again it's an eight Port LED um it's a great board um I didn't connect the Cat 5 cuz I'm going to go ahead and use this one Wireless um but you can kind of see I have it all set up here I've made those offsets so I've got plenty of air flow in there when you close the Box up it's sealed up pretty well there's my custom made 3D printed vent and if you guys have any questions or comments let me know smash that like button and thanks so much for watching
