79-Year-Old ROCK N’ ROLL pianist plays with SIR TOM JONES on The Voice | Journey #384

[Music] [Applause] I got a LS in my throat when a slow coming down the I got the Wiggles in my knee to Li at me squee a smile last year again standing over by the RO machine it looking like a model on a cover of a magazine well she's too cute a INE over a 17 meanwhile I was thinking as she's in the mood no need to break it I got a chance I ought to take it well if she dance we might make it come on sir I love him I love him look at his shoes what's your name where you from well my name is Stan Urban and I come from Dundee in [Applause] [Music] Scotland growing up didn't have a lot my mom died uh very young my dad was a lovely man he played the accordion and he used to used to play polish songs to make us sleep that that got my interest in music I would say 1956 I'd be 12 years old and that was when rock and roll actually hit Britain for the first time but we couldn't afford a guitar but we had an old piano now all the kids at school want to be Elvis uh Benny King Chuck Berry uh uh I kind of lost the track there there's no piano safe as soon as I see a piano I'm the kid again he always says to me I will never stop playing music until I drop dead oh there's a good one here I am with Jimmy pige I used to play with all these the 60s bands swinging blue jeans the tremolo uh the trogs God God who have I not played with there's one here on stage with Chuck Barry I'll never forget that show you at the place Rocky I got three hands they call me three hand stand oh really wa okay not sure where the third hand is but you know no no no no no only my wife only my [Applause] wife wow go St sty I don't mean to be rude but how old are you stand uh 79 wow that's the Applause Just For Being Alive that's right hey I know the [Laughter] you're almost as old as me but not not quite no not you're right you're right you're right you're right well I grew up on all that music and I absolutely love that performance and that's why I press my button thank you so much thank you very much you know what's crazy amazing who would have thought that Stanley was going to come out rocking on a piano yeah like thanks for bringing that vibe that energy and dang those shoes are awesome you look so great and you sounded so good as well and it was just a joy to see everyone up on their feet and cling and I feel like olle is the perfect person cuz he was looking for energy and a Vibe and you just bought it completely so thank you thank you what did you think Tom yeah well I enjoyed it I loved it I mean that's my kind of music you know Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Barry of course I mean it sounded great thank you Stanley why did you do The Voice this year Tom Jones is here he was rock and roll he is rock and roll and always will be rock and roll even when he sings a ballad sing a song mine yeah the second act I'd like to see in the semifinal [Music] is stand cuz we're going to be [Applause] [Music] there he is hello ol the reason I put Stan through is he's just the breath of fresh air you know we haven't stopped smiling since the first time we've met I never thought something like this would happen I mean I'm pushing 80 for goodness sake uh the call backs were terrific and I certainly didn't expect to be picked the second act I'd like to see in the semifinal is everything was kind of against it my age kind of music I do stand there is a bit of a spring in my step that I'm in the semi-final so the song I'd like you to sing at the semi-final is Chuck Berry Johnny be good thank you yes he's happy that song something special to me because I actually played it with chuckberry what I want to see is more of the performance I want to see the Fate I want to see all new orans Stan's passion for music is really infectious but he can go a little bit crazy to be honest with you I don't know if he's paying the right note or the wrong note well I don't really have a plan I like the unknown I like the where's that hand going and I never do the song the same way twice it's Freedom [Music] really can't wait to see you light up the stage stands one of these guys with you're having a bad day he makes you smile you're cheeky and you're an Entertainer have a bit of fun and I think brows just give it everything and just do what you're doing it's going to be an honor to watch you again I can't wait if I went through to the final it would be terrific it would be terrify for my family for my friends and especially for the music that I love I'm going to give it everything I've got and really put on a [Music] show singing for a place in final it's Stan all
