72 Gran Torino Squire Wagon. I call it BS 2.

foreign [Music] garage family how you all doing today so I got my buddy Nate up here with me he's going to help me shoot this video I tried to shoot it the other night but the dogs kept barking but so this is my 72 Gran Torino station wagon I've done a lot of stuff with it this year I've taken it to the autocross taking it to the drag strip drove it to Carlisle Pennsylvania it's uh Factory 429 car it uh has well I'll just get into that here in just a minute but so it's a factory 429 car and the guy that owned it the history that I know of it the guy came back from Vietnam and wanted a car he wanted to get uh Sport Hood on it but they wouldn't put a sport hood on it unless he paid total cash for it but he was paying cash mostly cash but had to finance just a little bit of it so they wouldn't put the Sport Hood on it they wouldn't put a four speed in it so it got the 429 and C6 so another interesting fact about this engine is the guy who had it before me went to change out a manifold cracked on it and he had to get Cobra Jet exhaust manifold for it so I don't know why it has Cobra Jet exhaust manifolds on it with it being a 72. but here we'll show you let me show you the engine as you can see in here 429 4V and it's an air conditioned car um power steering uh Power brakes and interesting thing about this car is if you come over here it has been retrofitted to R134a so I haven't filled it up yet to try it out but I know it blows just a little bit of cool air all right so let me shut this thing down and we'll come over here to the driver's side but y'all see this interior interior is pretty sweet in this car it doesn't have the Sport interior it doesn't have the sport gauges but it is power seats it's got the six-way power seats power windows it has power door locks which I haven't got to working yet but those will soon and let's walk back here so the car came with the factory tow package which is this piece right here goes in bolts to the frame it's a Class 2 hitch so the other thing about this car is it has the three-way uh back door so you go in and actually this way with the window up I can open the door out like this there's the seat and everything in there okay rear-facing seat which was another option that it had so then you roll down the back window which is power and the tailgate will flip down just like a truck so the good thing about this wagon and with all wagons now I'm down I can haul stuff so now we shut this plug back around come in here on this back door so I come in and this button right here I can push this button right here and then folds all the way down and we have all that room pull it back down we have all that room to haul stuff in so yep pretty neat old car I was glad to have it and uh it has us wheel rat rods on it they're 15 by eights and it has uh 275 60 15s in the back 245 60 15s in the front uh I believe it is a full coal has been cut off of the front Springs that's why it sits like it does and uh but uh they do a walk around it but this is my wagon I'm gonna haul my all my Mustang to the track weather this year that's the plan get me a trailer lighting up that I can do it [Applause] and then she's supposed to go get the brown badged here in the front get everything fixed right let's see what happens with that well with that look for me this year Well 2023 I'll be out in this quite a bit and and uh look forward to home be hauling at least one of my cars with it I'm looking for a light enough trailer to haul this around on the back and uh with that you all have a good day and uh we'll talk to you later bye [Music]
