7 things you NEED to know, plus 1 bonus, if you're sailing on Oasis of the seas

hey how's it going everybody are you planning to cruise on Oasis at Seas well you're in luck because we just came back from a fornite cruise on Oasis of the Seas and we're going to tell you seven things you need to know that you may not find anywhere else stay tuned to the end to find a bonus tip that will definitely enhance your [Music] vacation [Music] [Applause] number one the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship was built in 2009 and refurbished in 2019 it weighs 226,000 tons has a passenger Capac capacity of 6,700 people and a crew of 2100 it has 496 cabins and 166 sweets so in other words it's big so I know they say that the Oasis of the Seas and all of the Oasis class ships are big but you don't really understand and you don't really understand how big it is until you're actually there and see it in in person um it took us from the front to the back to walk to our cabin from the front of the ship between 10 to 15 minutes um so you will be needing to pack walking shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking number two we recommend getting to the cruise port early to make sure you have enough time to make it through any crowds and get checked in the the checkin area is very crowded if you get there late so make sure you get there on time on the Royal Caribbean app before your cruise a few days ahead of time it will prompt you to pick a time for check-in make sure you pick a time that's conducive to your schedule so you get there in a proper amount of time to get the registration and get your C passes to get on the cruise fun fact did you know that the Oasis of the Seas was actually the only the first Oasis class ship and technically it would have been the largest if if multiple ones did not come after it yeah there is currently five Oasis class ships sailing currently there is a new one that's going to be launched in 2024 called Utopia of the Seas and just last week Royal Caribbean announced a seventh Oasis class ship that will set sale in 2025 so exciting number three make sure to bring weather appropriate clothing and gear although though it may be warm and sunny on most days it can get windy chilly and rainy so a light jacket and jeans should be fine when we went on our cruise it was very rainy on the first night um the first day that we got there when we got to Nassau Bahamas the weather was very very bad it was so bad that they actually cancelled our shore Excursion which was the Pirate Ship Adventure um and they had to refund us s money for that because the waves and the Sea were so rough at that point in time when we got there number four seasickness the boat does move and you can feel it despite what people say about larger ships the ship that we were on Oasis at Seas during that time like I said before was very rough and we did feel the the ship move so you will need to take that into account so normally Rhonda sometimes has motion sickness in the car or sometimes um you know when moving and she's sometimes she feels motion sick um ironically she didn't get motion sickness at all while we were on the ship however me when we got back I had to call off from work because as soon as we got home from the ship everything felt like it was moving when we were on land it felt like the the land was moving I ended up having to call off work for two days because I felt seasick at home so that is something that you want to take into account if you're on the boat and there's a plan for a storm or plan for rough Seas you will feel that and you want to take that into account now some tips for seasickness they say if you eat green apples it will help with seasickness they also do sell Dramamine on the boat so if you have uh if you do experience seasickness that is something that's available to you also an nausea patches number five passports you do not need a passport unless you need to go back to the States before the ship it may be a good idea to have one just in case there's an emergency at home uh you will need a birth certificate and a current government issued ID and make sure your name matches the ID on your birth certificate when we got to the cruise port my mom uh gave her birth certificate and her birth certificate last name on there is different than the name on her ID and she had an issue she had to she got pulled out of line and security people took her to a back room and investigated her and they ended up having to do something on her paperwork before she was able to get on the ship it took about an hour um so just make sure before you Embark and before you get to the port that your paperwork is good and everything matches if you don't have your passport um to eliminate this issue just go ahead and just bring a passport go ahead and get your passport sport it takes a while so you may want to do it about 6 to 8 months ahead of time so you have it and make sure that you have everything that you need when you get there number six the price of the cruise so we booked our cruise in December 2022 and it was intentionally planned to take place during the week after Halloween of 2023 this is an off peak time and the cruise tickets are cheaper we also took advantage of the kids sale free promo in total our cruise fair was $257.92 including gratuiti and the vacation protection plan in contrast if we would have booked this same Cruise in say mid July it would have been closer to $4,000 with the same promo so make sure that you're taking the the time to investigate and to research when the cruise typ tickets are within your budget number seven things for kids we let our kids have time to to enjoy Adventure ocean that's the kids club area on the ship at first we were totally against letting our kids out of our sight on such a large ship and around people we didn't really know however after seeing the amount of security and the vigorous registration process we were okay with letting them go and they really both enjoyed having having the opportunity to go and enjoy Adventure ocean do you feel about it Jade I felt like it was a Cino but Isaias doesn't um Isaias doesn't think that it wasn't casino because it didn't have card games and only have fo ball and video games what did you enjoy Z what did you do when you were there um basically when we got there the first thing I did was scout out for video games I thought they had like a PlayStation or something NE be but they had um they had some type of basketball video game there and they also had Foo ball so I basically played fball for like that whole time okay they were there for about two hours while we enjoyed and walked around the ship if you look back in our video that is titled we were stuck on or E of seas it was that night that they were at um Adventure ocean while me and Ronda walked around and tried to find some things to do um it was very fun and they they enjoyed it bonus tip the bonus so we started planning this Cruise like I said before around Halloween of 2022 right after trick-or-treating our thoughts were wouldn't it be cool to trick-or treat and not need to bundle up so the cruise was our excuse to trick-or-treat in Miami we arrived a day early on on on Halloween so we would already be near the port and also would not need to worry about arriving late to the terminal due to missing our flight because we almost actually missed our flight so when we were leaving from Cleveland uh on Halloween morning we got to the airport at about 5:45 in the morning the plane left at 6:15 so we were running through the airport and we always almost missed our flight now if that was the day of the cruise we would have missed our cruise and if that was the case we may not have been refunded for the cruise so our bonus tip is plan an extra day to enjoy your inv your vacation early and get there a day early so you won't have to rush and get there late also also if you saw in our Halloween in Miami Miami video that's basically our one way ticket to fun and
