one of the most visited attractions in a water park is the waterslide turning down at high speeds with the sense of danger surrounding you is simply thrilling unfortunately the lack of safety measures and how vulnerable people find themselves in these fun rides has come to give them a bad reputation 7 most dangerous water slides that will blow your mind number 7 let's begin the list with one of the simplest slides that however has managed to have a large amount of problems located in the Calypso waterpark in Ottawa Canada is the famous steamer slide at first glance it doesn't seem very dangerous but since 2011 the park has earned three lawsuits and over 20 charges against it for wounds and accidents that took place on this water slide these lawsuits cost the park over 3.2 million dollars and most had to do with safety issues some of the accidents involved entire families that ended up stuck halfway down the slide and other accidents even involved fractures and concussions due to factors like lack of enough water to reduce friction and an all-around bad design of the ride that favors ending up in the emergency room despite this none of the attractions have closed since actual hospital authorities have endorsed the park and insured people that it's safe now yeah right I'll stay in my kiddie pool thank you very much number 6 now let's travel to some place in the Czech Republic where one happy day some people decided to go nuts it seems what you're seeing is an actual homemade waterslide of sorts the people in this video built the waterslide and of course handled all safety measures it was their first concern you see unfortunately it became their last concern in a matter of seconds this contraption is very likely to grant you a few broken ribs and maybe even a few days in the hospital just for a few minutes of fun the identity of these amateur engineers is unknown but at the time of this recording the video became viral since people hitting and bumping into each other is the best kind of entertainment so don't be surprised if some other group of bozos I mean backyard waterslide enthusiasts try to replicate it in the future number 5 let's carry on with one of the most famous ones the action park in New Jersey Oh the long backstory what matters is that since its opening in 1978 this parks accident record is unparalleled so much so that the whole park was shut down in 1996 so you could just imagine but along all this horror one attraction stands out the Cannonball loop queen of all death traps it doesn't take a genius to look at this and know something's gonna go wrong and go figure everything went wrong once the park closed former employees confess that the crash dummies used to test the ride ended up decapitated and dismembered most of them at least but this parks authorities considered that as a minor issue and opened the ride to the public this park story doesn't end there though and a couple ranks ahead you'll know why number four I present to you the leap of faith you may be wondering why it has such a dramatic name simple it's a nearly vertical 60-foot drop to a lake filled with sharks I'm not kidding they may not be great white sharks but they're sharks nonetheless and they're enough to give the name leap of faith to this attraction in short it's located in the Bahamas in a park called the Atlantis and as you can see the attraction is shaped like a Mayan temple and it propels the tourists at a tremendous speed through a see-through acrylic tunnel so yeah don't worry the trip doesn't end with the sharks eating you in front of other talking tourists actually you may be so scared because of the drop that you might not even notice the Sharks surrounding you number three well we're approaching the end and I couldn't leave this monstrosity out of the list even though it's not technically dangerous or at least nothing major has happened on it this ride has a 1640 foot drop ready for you to enjoy in which you'll reach a speed of 65 miles per hour not bad huh it's called Ellen say no and yeah I guess you already know the translation it's located in Fortaleza Brazil in the beach park and the top speed that it achieves has earned a world record with this view from the top of the ride and it's astonishing specs it's clear that you have to be a true adrenaline junkie to enjoy it you'll feel how your guts are trying to flee through your mouth in yeah that doesn't sound appealing at all but this is one of those things that are so extreme they just have to be included in your bucket list number two hey remember the cannibal loop well it turns out to the park got its license back this year and what better way to open than featuring an all-new cannonball loop all upgraded and fine-tuned or so they say and equipped with all possible safety measures again so they say it shall be called the sky caliber and apparently they learn from their mistakes since they've allocated a large sum of money to redesign it and improve it in order to make it safer however it hasn't been tested and still needs more time before it's ready some of the modifications are an increase in the drops inclination this time much more vertical the initial drop height and the height of the loop have also been increased but the most important part is that you'll be encased in this safety system it's like an aluminum capsule that will save you from the worst case scenario that's very cool and all but trust me my friends I prefer to remain far away from this attraction and this Park altogether don't be surprised if in the coming years you hear news of park employees picking up dismembered people and hiding them from the other visitors number 1 and finally we've come to the top of the list this has to be the most famous of them all the verruckt a waterslide built for the Schlitterbahn Park in Kansas City its construction was carried out with the intent of making it the highest and fastest of the world which came to be true when it entered the Guinness record in 2014 however its construction had some issues the sandbags used to test it seemed to just fly off so it had to be taken apart and reassembled several times until it was finally open to the public and everything was perfect its height of 1,700 feet brought only fun to the park visitors or at least this was the case until August 7 2016 that day a ten-year-old boy died when the pod in which he was sliding down flew off of the ride and part of the mental structure decapitated him in the air other passengers suffered different traumas like broken jaws and arms the tragedy was so shocking that some media outlets informed that the waterslide was to be demolished which hasn't been confirmed yet but the park had to pay a huge amount of money to the boy's family for the horrendous accident well folks on a very sad note another list is ended these thrill rides may seem very thrilling but you never know when tragedy will strike let me
