hey everyone and welcome back to the X ring on today's episode what I'm going to do is I want to start playing around with some heavier bullets you know the last time I shot the six millimeter Creedmoor I was shooting the 180 l DS and I was getting a little bit more wind drift than I thought I actually would with a faster round so I was gonna try to add some weight so what I bought was the burger the burger the vld targets 115 grain and this is a has a really unique profile to it and so if you are gonna load with these bullets I'm gonna recommend that you get a VL deseeding stem because when you seat with a regular stem you'll put a ring around the top of the actual bullet itself I happen to had one so it wasn't so bad but I can still see a little tiny ring I also went ahead and ordered some Lapua cases of course small primer pocket I've got it loaded up with 205 205 M gold medal I'm using h40 350 and I've got a load in here I want to see how it does because this barrel has a 1 in 7.5 twist to it so what that means is for every 7 and 1/2 inches we get one rotation of the barrel or the bullet and Berger says one in seven so I don't even know if it'll stabilize him you know if it's possible but I want to try it out also have the lab radar I figured with 115 grain if I can get close to 29 50 I'll be good I've not shot a single round out of this I've actually cleaned the board D coppered it and I've got two pasties up on the target up there they're the same charge I kind of knew where I wanted to be and where I needed to start so what I've did is I've made to run out a little longer on these here off to your right depending on how you're seeing the camera so what I'm gonna do is I've got 11 and 10 I'm just gonna do a 10 shot group on the top one 10 shot group on the bottom one of course I'm gonna let it cool first and we'll take a look at the groups and see how it does so stay tuned 115 grain burger veal DS out of this 6 millimeter Creedmoor in the accuracy international stay tuned let's let's see what kind of group we get we'll go ahead and load 6 rounds into this one see what kind of standard deviation would get and everything else what kind of velocity and hopefully it's a good one so the lab radar setup okay that's in the bull's eye it's a 3/4 inch pasty we're at 30 55 dang man I'm getting some extra velocity with these bullets Paiste is now gone 30 63 all I can do is aim for where the pasty was and did not get a reading off of that one that's a shame 30 69 it's tough when you don't have a distinct point aim at 30 70 holy crud one more round ooh that was 30 69 but either way I'll be able to check the standard deviations all that and I'll let you guys take a look at the brass brass looks good I'm not seeing anything that indicates any pressure signs that cute that little small primer pocket right there all right guys there it is there's the back of that Lapua brass you guys can see there are no ejector marks the primers look good no signs of pressure yeah I'm liking this alright so the average velocity was actually 30 65 so that's a whole lot better than what I was anticipating you guys can see the highest was 30 70 lowest 3055 extreme spread was 15 with a standard deviation of 5.9 so I am really really impressed with this one I take a look at the shot list if you look right here on the first shot we've got 30 55 then 30 63 and then third shot was actually 30 63 that's why I thought it missed it then thirty sixty nine and thirty seventy thirty 69 so those are all the velocities I think that's pretty solid alright guys so we're gonna see what we have here and that's a six shot group and just for reference you can see a pinky right there this one right here once I lost to paste it was really really tough to see so I don't think that's a fair evaluation of that one however I do think the run out on this was a little better alright guys I was really surprised by that load I was more taken back by the velocity that was getting out of the burgers it is quite substantial over the 108 L DS now I'm a huge fan of quantity products big shout out to those guys for helping support the channel but I've never really shot burgers before so even though I stepped it up seven grains in bullet weight I increased my velocity by almost 50 feet per second and that's gonna be able to get this rifle out to thirteen hundred and seventy-five yards or so running it off the ballistics calculator I also looked at the wind drift and at 10 miles an hour or at 700 yards full value wind I'm only looking at about one mil of drift and that's pretty good so that's kind of the numbers I was looking for so I'm hoping this is good you guys you guys know that I'm shooting that AI but I do have the proof barrel on it with a 1 and 7.5 so if you have a 6 Creedmoor maybe you've got a Ruger RP r or something like that you're concerned I think the RP ours have like a 7 7.8 twist I think you'll be fine with it I don't think there'll be any issues with stabilization I do know they recommend 7 but I'm not seeing an issue with the seven and a half there 7.5 so remember good cases something like the lapooh is I know they're very expensive but you get what you pay for and these burgers I think I'm gonna go ahead and load them up tonight and just go with the first run-out length that I had you know it is said that the 65 itself likes a little bit of jump I'm not a big fan of putting it all up against the lands and grooves or anything like that and so a little bit of jump maybe 20,000 and it seems to like it that group measured point three minutes of angle at 100 yards that was a six shot group it would have shot more but I wanted to try the other ones so hopefully you learn a little bit of something through this I know I did have a great week we'll talk to you soon
