dude are you okay last time we saw you our lawnmower did a wheelie for the first time in almost two years thanks to the 50 horsepower 670 v-twin engine from the rail and we've been thinking uh about what other project we have could really go up against it in a drag race or off-road and most of our stuff is in a bunch of pieces right now but we both kind of thought the drag mini bike with the leopard print seat problem is it doesn't have an engine on it we robbed it for our five engine comparison that was a really fun video by the way we basically just ripped all of our engines from six and a half to twenty horsepower around the yard to see which one we like the best anyway i tell us a little bit about this engine this is the engine i built for my 72 mile per hour go kart it's basically a stage 3 which is a flywheel billet rod and a camshaft we added a 22 millimeter micuni carburetor which i believe is too small we have another carburetor we're going to put on it and extensive head work it's a pretty pretty beefy engine so we're going to see what it does on that mini bike ike's looking for a 26 millimeter carburetor for us but check out this new engine we just got in the mail from go powersports this is the tillotson 212 cc engine it looks like a regular honda clone but it comes with 10 horsepower stock and a flywheel rated for 10 000 rpm so if you're looking to modify a new engine uh this is a really good choice or at least it has been this is the first one we've gotten and we're gonna put it on the back of the future cart because that engine's blowing up we're gonna figure out what's going on with that too but we're gonna do that another day anyway check our links in the description available only from gopowersports.com so i'm taking this 22 off i'm going to replace it with the 26. so we notice that the intake runner on the 22 millimeter kit is actually longer than the 26. i know they say that that a shorter intake runner is better for horsepower or high-end power or whereas a longer one is better for torque and i guess in this application because we have like a 7 500 rpm cam in here we're gonna want a shorter intake runner for more high-end power somewhere along the way we cut off the chain tensioner neither of us remember doing it but we think we did so we're now having to slot the holes in the engine mount so we can tension the chain so we got the throttle hooked up the engine is in place not bolted down tight yet and john is working on chain chain we're gonna have definitely more top end power with this yeah with the clutch and a better breathing carburetor yeah yeah might be a little scary maybe this engine has a lot of blow-by i'm hoping that i figured it out i only have a crankcase vent at the top of the engine i'm gonna look into putting one in the base of the engine two and hopefully that'll help equalize the uh pressure rock bands in the chute oh wow bam [Applause] all right oh [Music] dude it looks like it's gonna get smoked by that mower burger i heard you yell top hand is crazy yeah it is and uh probably about 40 45 miles per hour yeah it's accelerating it picks the front wheel up off the ground what i yelled about so at 45 it takes the wheel up yeah oh wow like this thing doesn't shine until 40 miles until it starts to go yeah yeah so i'd like to see uh a little bit of top speed with it not here yeah we had like an eighth mile like this in the lawn mower would be interesting yeah because the lawn mower is all about bottom end it might have top end too this thing's all about top end see it's fast and it's like we're at the tip of the iceberg here like we're not even really in the power band i know i can feel a difference i i think i feel a difference with that 26 millimeter carburetor yeah it's tough because we've never we we have we changed two things the carburetor well three things the gearing and the clutch i think the mower's got it out of the hole absolutely but i think this will walk down the mower i think it will yeah so we're going to need to go get a trailer so we can load the lawn mower up to take it to our racing spot but first we need to make sure it's going to run uh we've been having some trouble getting this engine to start we think it's the carburetor the other factory 670 carburetor that we have has given us a lot of trouble too so we think uh it just might not be a great uh carburetor from the factory best thing we've been able to do is just dump fuel down the carburetor yep and uh and just pray yep [Music] [Music] looks like we're good to go see y'all in a second so we are out here at our favorite testing spot it is a beautiful evening there is a chance of rain but i think we're going to be good to go i'm going to be on the mower ike's going to be on the drag bike yep neither of us really have any idea how these are going to handle at speed so i think we're going to go down the lane kind of feel them out a little bit come back and then head that way with the drag race right okay cool are you comfy we're going for it how fast did you get it oh it's dead it died this dude it's all right first off it's stable the whole time it's stable i had the speed thing going 65 miles an hour no this thing is awesome [Laughter] dude you pulled away from me like i was standing still yeah and like i know i did dude honestly i was a little soft out of the hole did it cut off on his own it did oh probably ran out of fuel because you were wide open oh yeah probably so that would make sense yeah because the the pulse pump yeah um that is exquisite man 65 miles per hour did you show the camera uh yeah let me show the camera i might have i thought i did but you guys see that max 65.2 and i just reset it because it only has point five five eight miles on it so it's legit did you wanna ride this thing at all yeah you need to ride that yeah yeah uh watch your leg on that clutch dude yeah thank you and this front wheel bounces like a basketball so hey i think i blew the engine are you okay i think i blew the engine up i mean but are you okay i think i'm okay that was insane i think i blew the engine up i mean that doesn't matter are you okay i think i'm okay what hurts uh i scraped myself up a little bit i think i blew the engine up lots of oil lots of smoke man i tried holding her dude no i saw you dude oh my god i'm so quiet here okay i thought that uh you know if i could keep holding it now i'm gonna get scraped right there yeah you got a little road rash buddy how bad is it i mean you know there's still most of the skin is still there okay it's just some scrapes but you're gonna have a bruise she uh she locked up on her really look right where you're starting at that's uh yeah no right yeah now is your foot a foot i don't know yours is right 76 feet it's a lot of skids it did go completely over right here there's there's the hood scoop there's the hood oh wait maybe it was right here this is kind of our fault we put a small too small inventory converter on what is it rated for 18 horsepower 25 yeah an 8 a torque inverter rated for 18 horsepower and we were pushing 50 horsepower through it i know what this is um bidding starts now on the uh oil pressure gauge um bidding starts at five dollars oh no what no what we broke ahead damn sure did this is on hold for a while yeah it sure is bidding starts now dang it all right we done let's rewatch the crash in slow motion because there's actually a lot that can be learned from a slow motion playback first and foremost we were using a torque converter rated for 18 horsepower and our 670 is making 48 horsepower at 6500 rpm so that's our first mistake at some point during wide open throttle the dipstick blew out which is right in front of the torque converter blowing oil everywhere so ike naturally let off the gas the combination of the oil heat and overworking the torque motor caused the rear wheels to lock up the mower starts sliding and ike counter steers and leans to try to keep it from flipping but as soon as it hits the yellow paint in the road it catches and flips over there is nothing he could do and in one single frame you can see a big spark from the battery as the mower lands it even bounces a few times before stopping the dipstick was ejected it was a pretty gnarly crash but it could have gone a lot worse ike did get pretty scraped up but i'm happy to say that he is now feeling 100 better from now on we are both going to wear proper riding gear when riding on pavement we'll see you wednesday to assess and try to repair the damage to the engine
