65 Adam Driver sci-fi dinosaurs was not like welcome to the channel folks I'm Andy electric geek and of course and for today it has 65 on 4K blu-ray this is one I've been excited to check out and I remember when the trailer dropped I was really excited for it as well a lot of people think I mean as I kind of joked in the beginning it's a Sci-Fi it's dinosaurs like it looked really good in the trailer but I think the trailer was a bit misleading I haven't seen it now I think the trailer was trying to kind of masquerade the movie is this like big budget sci-fi dinosaur epic when in fact it's a little bit more Coy with how often it shows dinosaurs probably due to the budget constraints I think it had a 45 million pound budget which is nothing compared to you know the 200 million kind of average budget that these big films get like Jurassic World The Flash movie that's coming out any kind of Marvel or DC film will have that kind of 200 million budget at least so there's no way it's going to live up to a film like that certainly when it comes to the kind of special effects and the set pieces so yeah basically we have Adam Driver who's a kind of space pilot or space trucker for lack of a better expression and at the beginning of the movie Manchester having his family that turns out his daughter has some kind of terminal illness which isn't a liability done but he decides to win a two-year space mission to try and help fund the doors Healthcare obviously so fast forward a few scenes and he's flying through space when the spacecraft is Hat by a kind of undocumented asteroids shower or something and he's forced to crash land on an Uncharted Planet which we know to be Earth however the catch is that it's Earth 65 million years ago we know what he's going to stumble across dinosaurs wise but he obviously hasn't seen Jurassic Park so he's not got a clue he lands on the planet and he thinks he's only Survivor but then it turns out there's another little girl who has also survived now I don't want to spoil the plot but he basically then has to get from A to B to find this Escape shuttle to get off the planet however the big snag is that was umpteen as a Scottish one for lots of dinosaurs and between them and the show and that's kind of where it goes I really enjoy that it's kind of slow it's tension filled all the way and there's a few jump skills in there as well it's going to cut me off guard there are some quiet at a moments on it and there's probably not as much dinosaur action as maybe some people would hoped for but I didn't mind I thought Adam Driver really handled the kind of more character-driven emotional scenes quite well and the relationship between him and this little girl was quite believable it borrows a lot this movie from other films you know like planet apes the next thing the last of his series and of course the Jurassic Park Jurassic world franchises it never really quite batters any of those franchises but I think it kind of stands on its one two feet and I enjoyed it and was kept engaged all the way through so if you have checked out you didn't like it maybe give it a chance and you know don't be as harsh on it the second time you watch it and if you haven't seen it I definitely think it's worth checking out but that's enough about the movie on to the video in audio quality so for video quality we have a 4K native presentation here it was shot digitally so it will be that kind of digital Loop there's very little film Green in this movie but it does still look quite filmic it's quite soft in places as well I think there's no lenses that they use but I think that kind of works I might be going about Freudian here but I think that whoever's in the kind of Center composition usually Adam Driver it's kind of softer around them and so it adds to that kind of idea of has isolation on this planet into the planet is kind of fallen into each other stem I think but maybe that's just me but actually that aesthetic as far as HDI goes we have Dolby Vision that is who I watched the film and I thought it was really really nice I did stick in the bluey to compare and given that it's a modern movie I'm pretty sure it was short at resolutions up to 6K uh it's what you'd expect from a modern movie looks really clean and Crispers are kind of alluded to it earlier but nothing that's going to pull you over here just what you'd expect from a modern film there's no real uptick in detail I would say when it comes to the resolution between the Blu-ray and the 4K nothing that's really worth talking about anyway but obviously it's the HDR that does make a difference it's a bit flatter on the Blu-ray and there's just not as much depth there's plenty of specular highlight as you'd expect from a sci-fi film so the kind of ship interior all the kind of LED lights the LED lights that are on Adam driver's character Mills is gun for example and given that a lot of the movie takes place at night the high dynamic range helps to better realize the shadow detail there's a scene that takes place and I can have a cave or a cavern if you like well that's really evident and it helps with the kind of immersion of the movie and in the tension in that scene most of the film was shot on location I think I think a lot of it was filmed in the USA and some scenes were filmed in Ireland and obviously HDL lends itself to kind of natural environment so there's a lot of air figurines Bruins in the movie which are more nuanced than those better gradation through the colors on the double vision HDR presentation over there completed so the video presentation on the 4K is better than the blue date but not by a great deal it's the HDR that makes the difference so for the video I'll give it 4.5 onto the audio and I was super impressed with this track now I mentioned the jump scares earlier and that's largely in part to the audio design on this film I would say so you get Adobe Atmos on the 4K blade you don't get that on the standards for it you just get a 5.1 DTS HD Master audio track eight channels eight channels eight channels lots and lots of high activity in this movie I know some things people complain about most that there isn't enough you know you've went to the hassle of getting yourself a dope with that much sound bar or you've been put insulin speakers on or you've got them mounted up high whatever and then sometimes you're not even sure if they're bloody on because you can't really hear anything coming from them however with this track that is definitely not the case they felt to me like they were firing all the time being it was just a soundtrack but often we find Adam Driver and his little female counterpart heading through the forest in the jungle and stuff and you hear the trees above rustling you hear the distant cores of the larger dinosaurs that are building up the tension to their review towards the end of the film and when they're in their caverns and the caves you'll hear the main effects and when they're outside you'll hear the storms and the Thunder and stuff like that also when the ship comes apart at the beginning of the movie that's really different and there's some fantastic bass in that also Adam driver's gunmeter very fast I really like these gun it's kind of halo-esque so if you watch Halo you've played the games you know what I mean when you see it but it leaves a lovely resonating sound every time it files it and when I compelled it will be that much track to the DTs track that's on the Blu-ray there was a notable change in the base I didn't expect it to be but Adobe Atmos is definitely a lot heavier and it seems to get a lot lower with the base so definitely an upgrade on the 4K when it comes to audio I think I'm missing out audio wise if you want to go with the Blu-ray special features wise I haven't actually had a chance to check them out but there are a few features I don't think they're particularly long hit the longest ones about 10 minutes long and there are some deleted and extended scenes which again I haven't had a chance to check out so not too bad you are getting some stuff with this release however they are all in the Blu-ray disc and there's absolutely nothing on the 4K but even a commentary track or anything so everything especially is why he says on the Blu-ray just a quick part on the release you'll notice there's no slip cover here that's because it's a Sony or Columbia TriStar release and I've noticed recently they have stopped doing slipcovers settle in the UK three movies I can think of more bass Uncharted Spider-Man no way home all recent Sony releases and didn't have slot covers so if you want it and you see it without it don't fit because that does seem to be the only way it's been released inside there's Bare Bones but at least you do get different designs for the 4K desk and the blue disc so ultimately with all that said can I recommend 65 on 4K ability yes I definitely can more so from a technical standpoint it looks nice but it definitely sounds fantastic so if you just want a desk then definitely get it I appreciate I'm in the minority with the film itself I did enjoy it and I'm sure the others out there that enjoy it also but it would seem to be the majority it found it a little bit boring and a little bit of a letdown so I'm going to give it three and a half out of five if you're going to pick it up I would suggest waiting for a seal I think this will very quickly be in your typical two for 30 seals and I think the Blu-ray will drop in place very quickly probably about three months you'll see that blurry going for about 7.99 or 6.99 so if you want to blame buy it and you're not boiled about that much maybe you don't have an Atmos setup then I would recommend waiting and getting the Blu-ray however if you do have an Atmos setup and you're blind buying can only I was then as I say I think getting this film from anywhere between 10 to 15 pounds in a deal that's definitely worth it but that's it for this one if you want to pick up 65 then I have put the links down in the description for the 4K the Blu-ray and the DVD if you're absolutely mental and still buying DVDs then fill your boots and if you've seen 65 then let me know in the comments what you thought about yourself but that's it I've been hand electric geek I hope you enjoyed the review keep buying and enjoying 4K movies and I'll see you in the next video [Music]
