6.1L V8 WORTH IT?

[Music] uh [Music] all right guys so welcome back to the channel thank you for hanging out spending a few moments here with me if this is the first video that you're checking out definitely make sure you hit that subscribe button i really do appreciate it now hopefully you guys are still enjoying the drag racing footage there's plenty of builds that i want to continue highlighting when i went to uh the hemi shootout there were so many cool builds and one of them happened to be a 300 with a 6-1 under the hood now this is an engine that really doesn't get showcased very frequently on my channel and it's not really because i you know i don't want to it's just because they're so rare around me now uh the majority of people that show up to meet the majority of people that hang out with me either have a 5.7 or 392 or even a hellcat so it's really cool to see what the six one is capable of doing so when i saw this six one three hundred build uh at atco i thought it was a great opportunity to showcase this thing and really i was so impressed with what he was capable of doing in that thing especially because of how heavy the 300 is and the times that he was putting on the board with the limited modifications that he had under the hood it was extremely impressive uh so it really just showcases that the six one is still relevant in the you know the hemi game at this point the problem obviously is just we don't see enough of them uh so with that being said guys take a look at the build take a look at the runs and uh hopefully you guys enjoy this content a cam and a converter what are you looking to get here okay so it's a 392 no it's a 6.1 6.1 with a cam what kind of cam uh hp stage and who's who's tuning it hp headers is basically all three okay long tube headers and a converter what kind of converter uh fti 3600 3600 okay and so you did you run this thing stock yeah what were you getting around with stock the best that ever went stock was 12 6 in really good air like negative 2000 d.a okay so those three upgrades really dropped you about a half a second or so yeah okay did you know the converter was a big difference yeah i tried a 32 and it wasn't enough the car didn't really run much better with a 32 so i put it i did all that work and then put a 32 in it and it didn't really get much better and then i put a 36 in it and it really woke up that's when it okay have you thought about possibly porting the heads and stuff like that i think i'll just build a 426. so you're going stroker gotcha okay this is my daily driver car's got 157 000 miles on it you want to keep it n a right yeah for that okay if you might spray it at some point but who knows like a nice hundred shot and it's got forged pistons in it so i could do a lot more than that yeah i mean a 12 11 nine is pretty quick especially full weight and everything you know weighs 44.80 with me and a quarter tank of fuel [Music] what's the best slip so far wonder 1197 living in this one 11 nine yeah all right where's your personal best 1193 is a personal 11.93 okay you're trying to get that 11.9 again right yeah i was hoping to go better but okay i'll go i'm gonna get it on [Music] okay so this is a pretty good match up we got 426 magnum with a whipple on there [Music] 426 na [Music] that has been in the mid tenth [Music] foreign [Music] hmm [Music] [Music] got a stock 392 uh super b versus 300 srt 13 20.
