[Music] hey everyone and welcome back to Joey's retro handhelds I'm Joey and today we're going to be doing a switch emulation showcase on the Ayn Odin 2 in case you haven't been keeping up this is the Odin 2 Pro so the 12 GB version I have Force maximum clocks enabled as well as using asynchronous shaders everything else is default lastly we're using the turnup driver version 23.3 okay let's just jump right in first game on our showcase is Advanced Wars and it doesn't run perfectly at 60fps but for a game like this it doesn't really matter so you can get away with playing this if you wanted for memory usage we're about 43% and remember that's 43% out of 12 GB next up on our list is AI the somnium files this is essentially a visual novel detective game and there's a lot of texture glitches that you can see on screen but otherwise seems to run pretty well hear that ringtone then there must have been a phone somewhere on site did CSI report anything like that no nothing they searched the site but didn't find a single thing memory usage again is right around that 45% range a big one here is Animal Crossing new her Horizon and I'm a little bit further into the game cuz this is my own save it doesn't run at a steady 30 frames so it has some dips and things like that but it's definitely playable if you don't mind that [Music] w on the memory usage front we're basically right at 60% pretty close to it now we have Captain Toad treasure Tracker and this is one that actually plays pretty much perfectly you could easily play this entire game if you wanted to and I'm a bit later into the game here cuz it's my own save once again [Music] on a memory usage front Captain Toad uses about 36% so it's pretty low in the grand scheme of things next up is is Chained Echo and this is a fun little indie game if you haven't played it yet it's turn-based and it's a pretty good story performance-wise it's not exactly perfect but I wouldn't consider it unplayable [Laughter] either on the memory front we're using at about 46% of our total Ram here another Indie here and that's Cosmic star heroin and this runs pretty well perfect as well this is a game that I never got a chance to finish but hopefully I can hear on the Odin 2o memory-wise as you could expect it's about 38% so it's a pretty low RAM usage game one of the king of Indie Games dead cells I wouldn't consider completely playable here you might see the game playay and think yeah that looks fine but when you're actually playing it it's got enough hitches and stuttering and dips that I wouldn't consider this a good time [Music] memory-wise we're at about 42% for this [Applause] [Music] game for Digimon story cyber sluth I couldn't find my save file so I unfortunately had to start from the beginning but you can see here that we're running at basically 42% memory usage and the game itself runs basically perfect so I consider it to be a good time here jumping into the first Dragon Quest Builders and I absolutely love this game but again can't find my save so we're here at the beginning I can tell you right now that the game gets choppy even on an original switch as you get later into the game and that's going to go on with Dragon Quest Builders 2 as well for me though at the beginning here it's perfectly playable and I wonder how far you can get into the game before it stops being memory usage wise we're right at 42% jumping into Dragon Quest Builders 2 and this is a good example of what I mean by unplayable later on we're halfway through the game here and you can see that it's not running at a straight 30 unfortunately it doesn't do this on the original switch either so it's just one of the negative of the [Applause] [Music] game memory usage wise we're right at about 45% for those counting at home 45% out of 12 is basically around 5.4 GB of RAM moving on to Fire Emblem engage and this runs a lot better than three houses does but I still wouldn't consider it completely playable even for a strategy RPG like this there is just enough Jank and stuttering that it's just not a good time say the word I'm [Music] sorry memory-wise we're basically right at that 50% Mark so 6 GB of RAM Hades is very similar to dead cells although it runs a little bit better you could probably play a lot of Hades here as I didn't really feel a lot of stuttering or lag or anything like that memory usage is right around that 40% Mark Hollow Knight is more of the same although probably the best running out of the indie games that we've seen so far I'm not very good at Hollow night so just ignore all of my [Applause] [Music] [Music] mistakes memory usage as you could expect is right around that 38% Mark if you haven't played into the breech yet you definitely should this is a game that I beat a long time ago when it actually released and I completely forgot how to play it but I do remember this being one of my favorite games to play at that [Music] time no shocker here but pretty low RAM usage at 35% Kirby in the Forgotten lands tricks you into thinking it's playable at the beginning here and then suddenly you get white screened and you can't see anything I'm not sure if this is fixable but that was my experience out of the box however Kirby returned to Dreamland Deluxe is a game that works perfectly and at 60 frames not a shocker here as it's not not a big game at [Music] all for RAM usage in this game we're looking at about 41% for our first crash of the day Luigi's Mansion 3 just kept crashing and then actually crashed not sure what's going on here but the game doesn't work for our second crash of the day it goes to Mario rabbit's Kingdom battle and it just completely crashes and doesn't load our third crash of the day goes to Mario Golf super rush I'm hope that I'm showing a pattern here of what you can expect with some of the switch games here [Music] today for a game that hasn't crashed on me Mario Kart 8 Deluxe runs pretty good it's not exactly perfect there's just enough small dips and stuttering but you could definitely play a lot of the game here [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Applause] [Music] yooo [Music] RAM usage for this game is right around 43% I didn't really play much of this but Mario Party Superstars at least loads and Boots into different things memory usage is right around 43% but I could imagine that going up higher if you're actually playing the game [Music] for another crash here we have Mario Tennis Aces and this one I could remember I think playing it the other day but for some reason today no matter what I tried just wouldn't [Music] boo Master detective archives rain code is a game that's been pretty fun on the switch but here has a bunch of glitches namely being the fact that you can't see anything on screen and it's just weird all right there's something I have to do first okay human listen up first I'll have you select your difficulty for a game that's pretty much entirely playable with only small dips and things like that Metroid dread runs at 43 is% RAM usage [Music] I however Metroid Prime remastered has some major issues with nothing really showing on screen so I'm not exactly sure what's going on there for another really good indie game here's moonlighter and I've had a lot of fun with this over the years but it seems to run perfectly well on this [Music] device [Music] memory usage for this one is right around 43% if you want to see another crash here's Neo the world ends with you new Pokemon Snap seems to run pretty well it's not exactly at a straight 60 but I don't think it really matters for this game you could likely have a good time playing this on this device [Music] memory usage is right under 40% so you have a lot of room here as well it's not not perfect but octopath traveler is definitely playable here especially considering it's a turn-based game there's just enough stutters and dips and not exactly straight 30 that it's not a perfect experience but it's not a bad one [Music] either I'll will not be [Music] defeated let your wounds be here I'm [Music] ready memory-wise we're right at around 42% Persona 5 Royal is a game that basically runs just perfectly I made a mistake in one of my other videos where I thought the faces were a texture issue I just completely forgot that the beginning of the game had that hidden otherwise you could definitely play pretty much the entire Persona 5 royal game on this device assuming there isn't really any crashing that I can think of and memory usage is right under [Music] 40% comping power level go get [Applause] [Music] Joker the Phoenix Right Ace Attorney Trilogy is definitely playable here I don't think you'll have any issues with a visual [Music] novel surprisingly it uses more RAM than some of the other games at right around 40% but it's nothing to be concerned with our first Pokemon game here and that's Pokemon scarlet and it's kind of a slideshow on this device I wouldn't consider this playable at all [Music] [Music] sh [Music] [Music] what memory usage is actually really high here as well at a 62% for those counting at home that's basically 72 GB of RAM so the base model would struggle with this game if it becomes runnable in the future Pokemon Shield however seems to run a lot more smooth than Scarlet does which isn't that surprising considering on the switch Scarlet was basically a slideshow as well you could probably play a lot of Shield here and not run into many issues or have any frame [Applause] dips however memory usage is right around that 50% Mark in this game [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] the last Pokemon game on this list is Pokemon let's go Pikachu and depending on the area of the world that you're in it'll either be completely smooth or you'll have some dips like you see on screen [Music] memory usage wise we're right at 42% and you can actually use the gyroscope in this game as [Music] well if you're here thinking that Red Dead Redemption is going to run and play well then I'm sorry but it doesn't there is a ton of texture glitches and issues with this game when it actually runs because a lot of times it just crashes another Indie here and surprisingly doesn't run at a full 60 is Rogue [Music] Legacy then we jump into Rogue Legacy 2 and it actually runs a little bit better still high RAM usage here at about 43% slay the Spire is another Indie that runs pretty well here still not at a full 60 which is a bit weird but it's a card game so it doesn't really matter memory usage is right around that 4 2% [Music] Mark our first of two Sonic games here and Sonic mania runs basically [Music] perfectly memory usage is right around 35% Sonic super Stars actually seems to run pretty well here as well I don't think there's a lot of issues here it's not exactly completely at 60 frames but it runs really [Music] well [Music] [Music] [Music] all [Music] [Music] [Music] memory usage for this game is right around 42% Splatoon 2 just doesn't load it crashes a sequel to golf story but we have sports story here and it uses about 43% of RAM and seems to be playable considering it's an indie stardew Valley is a weird one as I thought it would have been perfectly fine but it loads upside down might be an easy fix I'm not exactly sure what's going on but it was the only game to do [Music] this steam world dig 2 almost runs at a full 60 throughout which just some minor hitches and dips otherwise seems to be completely playable and this game doesn't really use a lot of ram either it's really at [Music] 36% for a game that seems to run perfectly story of Seasons friends of Mineral Town only uses about 36% of RAM and seems to run at a straight [Laughter] 60 and I didn't want to sit through the intro but story of Seasons pioneers of all of town seems to be more the [Music] same for another crash we have Super Mario 3D Allstar for another game that I lost my save on Super Mario 3D World and this is the Bowser's Fury side seems to run pretty close to perfect there is just enough hitches and dips when there's a lot of things on screen but otherwise I think you'd probably have a good time with this [Applause] [Applause] game [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] woo memory-wise it's pretty low at about a [Music] 38% [Music] Super Mario Odyssey is a weird one as I was able to play it pretty well for some of my other videos but when I was doing it again today it crashed again and obviously the first level doesn't run that well I don't know whether to consider this playable or not so I'll let you be the judge Super Smash Bros ultimate is just enough playable that you could have a good time but not perfect enough that I would consider it the best way to play it or something that I'd want to play it on a daily [Music] basis [Laughter] [Laughter] memory usage is right around 46% the great Ace Attorney Chronicles seems like it would run just fine considering it's basically a visual novel but I'm pretty sure this is not part of the game there seems to be a lot of texture issues with the f on this person and RAM usage is right around 36% a big one here and that's the Legend of Zelda breath of the wild and it runs better than you'd expect on this device RAM usage for this game is right around 50% [Music] h [Music] [Music] you thought that other Zelda would be next but we have Link's Awakening once you do the blur mod and that's the only change I made for any these games was modding the blur out of Link's Awakening it seems to run just fine but again there's just enough dips and stuttering and things of that nature that I wouldn't consider it the best way to play this [Music] memory-wise though we're right at 36% and now the big one and I still stand by what I said before but tears of the kingdom is not really playable on this [Music] device [Music] [Laughter] h sh memory usage we get right up to 76% which again like I said before the highest that I've seen is 77% for those count in at home that is higher than the base model has so you won't be able to play this that well on the base model another really good Indie here and the messenger runs pretty well still not at a perfect 60 but probably playable enough for most [Music] people [Music] memory usage wise it's pretty low at 33% I completely forgot that the world ends with you final remix is touchscreen only unless I missed the part where you can change the controls I'm a bit further into this game here since it's my own save but it seems to run pretty well [Music] [Laughter] memory usage wise we're under 40% at about 37 we can do this Neu here it [Music] comes [Music] NE Tokyo Mirage has some weird texture loading issues but other than that it seems to run just [Music] [Music] fine for see [Music] memory-wise we seem to be under 40% at that 36 Mark if you want to play Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and two here you can't it crashes if you want to play triangle strategy here you can't it crashes last on our list is Zeno Blade Chronicles Definitive Edition and this seems to run basically perfectly I beat this game so I'm right at the end of the game here couldn't find any enemies to fight but if you remember my other video I showed the beginning I think you'd have a good time with this [Music] game memory-wise we're right at that 43% Mark and that's going to be it for this one don't forget to like and sub to help this channel grow and hope you all have a good [Music] one
