[Music] thanks to ag1 for sponsoring today's video A new year is upon us and in this video I'm sharing 39 6C habits to keep your home clean and clutter-free in 2024 my personal approach to tasks is basically if it takes 60 seconds or less do it now by tackling little chores right away prevents them from building up to a full day of hard cleaning and tidying it's probably easier to convince yourself to spend a minute on a task rather than hours and you'll be maintaining your home without that much effort these will be minimal time commitment tips and some of them don't even take a full minute short bursts of activity done consistently can significantly contribute to a cleaner and more organized home for you let's start off with some general tips and then do it space by space shall we keep cleaning supplies where you use them my apartment is 57 square m or 613 sare ft not huge and I could totally keep all my cleaning supplies in one spot I wouldn't have to walk that far to get a rag or a spray I still chosen to keep a few cleaning supplies in the kitchen and a few in the bathroom I'm far more likely to give the sink a scrub or the mirror a wipe if I have the tools to do so at my fingertips [Music] clean as you go I like to clean as I go about my day by that I mean I don't save my messes till the end of it I pick up and clean up after myself after I've finished whatever I'm doing wiping the kitchen countertop after a meal and straightening out the sofa after getting up will help keep your home [Music] tidier have a minute see what I did there if at some point point during the day you're perhaps waiting for your partner to get ready or are between the main task for the day use that minute dust the surface in your [Music] home vacuum a hi traffic [Music] area pick Dead Leaves off the nearest plant declutter a small area like a shelf wipe down light switches and door knobs [Music] put away items left out of place over time small Habits Like These become routine making it easier to maintain a clean and decluttered home routines create a sense of stability and structure and that brings me to the sponsor of this video ag1 I think we all feel the need to get supply of AG vitamin D3 plus K2 and five ag1 travel packs with your first purchase thanks to a G1 for sponsoring today's video moving on with 60c habits for the entryway keep the entryway tidy by putting things away as you arrive home put away shoes and coats in their designated spots I do understand that life with kids is totally different than single life been there done that but if you have a system in place with a plays for everything it only takes a minute to put things back where they belong your more likely to get things you no longer have use for out of your home if you keep it by the door I don't like stuff trailing on the floor and I also don't want an ugly cardboard box sitting on my rug instead I keep a nice bag or sometimes a tote on my peg Rail and that way I can easily drop things in there until they're ready to leave so keep a tote bag for things to bring to friends or family or to donate by the door on that same note keep a basket at tops and bottoms of any stairs in your home then you can easily Corral whatever needs to go upstairs or downstairs without having it spread out on the steps along the stairs themselves whenever it's filled up take it with you and put things where they belong don't leave your mail sitting in the entryway unopened deal with it right away by opening it and recycling junk mail immediately since your entryway is the first thing guests will see regular 60-second habits ensure that your home is always presentable even for unexpected guests quick tidying up routines prevent potential embarrassment and save you from frantic cleaning sessions before visitors arrive and you'll always be guest ready moving on to the kitchen I'm a firm believer in Tiding up before going to bed so I can get a nice fresh start in the morning so wipe your countertops before going to bed it only takes a minute so so if nothing else do that so you can have a clean space for making your morning [Music] coffee you might not want to bring your vacuum cleaner out for every little crumb but a quick sweep of the kitchen floor will make it feel less crummy under [Music] fooot [Music] why does one tend to avoid it when it only takes a minute to empty the dishwasher or dish rack emptying them is such a quick job and makes the rest of the day's dishes so much easier to manage and your kitchen looking [Music] tidier [Music] another job that makes the whole kitchen F lighter is taking out the trash one full it only takes a [Music] minute plus points for wiping out the bin before putting in a new bag that also takes less than a [Music] minute [Music] clean your microwave oven by putting a bowl of water with a drop of dish soap and a lemon rind in it set it on high for a while let the steam do the job and cleaning it out will take you less than a [Music] minute [Music] keep areas that get touched off and clean so wipe down your refrigerator door and handles use a microfiber cloth with warm water and there's no need to rinse cutting down the time it takes by [Music] half if you feel the need to declutter you don't have to do it all at once declutter a single drawer or shelf in your kitchen while you're waiting for your coffee to get [Music] ready clearing off your dining table at the end of the day will give you so much pleasure in the morning make sure everything has a home and if it does it will only take a [Music] [Music] minute here are some 60-second habits for maintaining your bathroom wipe your bathroom sink after using it I have a stack of cotton face cloths and after I've cleaned my face in the evening I take that cloth and wipe the sinks around and faucet with [Music] it then I pop it onto my heated towel Rail and in the morning it goes in my laundry hamper on laundry day I wash it on hot and re repeat it takes zero effort and a tiny wipe to keep my sink presentable between the full-on cleanings keep your shower floor cleaner by using a squeegee after every time you shower spraying your shower walls with a vinegar solution after your shower prevents lime scale and soap scum to build up less than a minute tasks will make it so much easier when you do give the shower a more thorough clean keep your toilet bowl cleaner with zero effort by popping a denture cleaning tablet in the Bowl before going to [Music] bed let it work while you sleep give it a swirl with a toilet brush in the morning and [Music] flush [Music] the contents of the bathroom trash can often feel a bit gross so use a minute to empty it out there will probably be a few seconds left to give it a wipe [Music] to again not all organizing and decluttering has to be a big task if you take a minute to tidy up one small area at a time it will make a big difference in the long R so empty and organize a bathroom vanity drawer or shelf in a [Music] cabinet [Music] next up is the bedroom air out your bedroom before making the bed shake your bedding open the window and let your bed air out before making it that makes for a much fresher bed to get into at night and it only takes a seconds [Music] have a simple bed making setup and make your bed everyday if you have a ton of pillows blankets and cushions that don't contribute to a good night's sleep making the bed can be a chore that you might try to avoid I have a very simple setup that takes me less than a minute so making the bed every day is a breeze and my bedroom always looks tidy [Music] aside from airing up my bedroom and bedding I also Al air up my sleepwear in the morning it's a 30second job to hang it and 30 seconds to bring it back inside it smells so good and feels so nice and fresh to slip into it again at [Music] night [Music] and now moving on into the living room [Music] it should only take a minute to straighten out your sofa or armchair walking into your living room will be so much nicer when things are fluffed and when you've arranged the throw pillows and blankets I do keep one corner tangled up for bonus enjoys a lumpy scarf to sit on not everything needs to be perfect while your favorite show has a commercial break dust the front edge of a shelf on your bookcase and pull the book spines to the front that gives you a tidier overall [Music] look during another commercial break dust [Music] behind if you have pets toss all the toys in one area when they're not played with same for kids keep a large basket in your living room so you can toss straight toys in there for instant cleanup take that pile of old newspapers or magazines sort and recycle [Music] them home off/ Command Center next this ties into the entryway tip of dealing with mail as it arrives after youve recycled junk mail keep a drawer where you can drop mail and papers that need to be sorted further I deal with bills right away but anything that needs holding on to for a while or needs filing later goes in this drawer when it's full I sort it which does take more than a minute but putting things in the dra instead of just leaving them in the entryway or somewhere else in my home does take less than 60 seconds the same goes for kids art that comes home from school or daycare have a designated drawer for it pop any art that arrives home in there and sort when full art that is just one scribble on a sheet of paper without a name and date can go straight into the recycling bin in my opinion takes less than a minute and that drawer will not fill up as fast straighten up your workspace or home office area a tidy space can boost productivity when your space is organized it's easier to find things you get less distracted and can better [Music] focus so take a minute and go through the Bits of Paper on your [Music] desk do you still need to keep the sticky note that says dentist appointment 3 weeks [Music] ago and finally the closet decluttering a whole closet can be a full day activity if you have a lot of stuff keep a decluttering bin in your closet it can be an empty basket or a bag when you get dressed and come across something that no longer fits you or has seen better days toss it in the basket or bag instead of putting it back on the shelf or hanger it only takes seconds when your container is full sort what can be donated gifted or recycled put the bin back in the closet and repeat this way you have a routine that will ultimately save you a ton of time and effort so quick habits like putting items back where they belong or wiping down Sur surfaces for a minute each day can really save your time in the long run a minute spent organizing a specific area can really impact the overall tidiness of your home you'll spend less time on deep cleaning if you consistently maintain your spaces quick regular habits ensure that cleaning and organizing become part of your routine consistency and tackling small tasks daily help prevent clutter from accumulating thanks so much for watching I'll see you in the next one hey do
