saw that branch snap. No wind, no rain, just an annual tradition between two church groups, a Bible study and barbecue that became unforgettable this past weekend . And based on what's left behind, you can see why one table is like under the tree here. As I walk towards them, I hear the crack and then everybody hear the crack and they look up and, you know, suddenly like a huge and heavy branch from a giant sprawling tree snapped and smashed into picnic tables as people from the loud Thai community tried to dodge an escape injury. Somebody is hurting there and everybody, you know, panic. A little bit. They called 911 in the Santa Rosa fire Department, rushed to Spring Lake Park Saturday morning, discovered that nobody was trapped. But there were a number of patients Firefighters say two had more severe injuries . Six patients in all, five adults and one little boy. This pastor from Hessle Church in Sebastopol says his wife jumped to the six year old's rescue. The little boy was there and she helped push the little boy out. They saved the little boy, but he says a fellow pastor was hit and suffered a broken shoulder. Another person had several crushed ribs. All were taken to hospitals. Only one, he says, is still being treated. It's scary. You know, that is you know, I thought at the end of the park should be, you know, like say, you know, or maybe they might need to be inspected. Other tree Sonoma County regional parks says with years of drought and then saturating rains, trees can soak up water so fast limbs can be at risk of falling. And while it's impossible for us to ensure the safety of every tree and every one of our parks, we do our best to assess trees when we feel like there is an area of concern for the 40 people who gathered and prayed here, they're now dealing with shock and trauma, yet thankful no one lost their lives, including that little boy. I said God saved him . So we believe that God had got someone watching over us. Sonoma County Regional Parks has taped off this entire picnic area, closed because of environmental hazards
