6 PIN UP looks for BEGINNERS ( QUICK and EASY VINTAGE/ RETRO hairstyles) - Fitfully Vintage

hi today I'm going to show you some go-to styles that will help you achieve a pin-up look quickly and easily it's great if you haven't quite perfected more complicated styles to share it it's not necessary but it's certainly beneficial to start with curled hair for these Styles not only helps with the overall look but also with the styling we're starting with probably my most worn everyday style start by taking a triangular section of hair the width of your face and possibly as far back as your crown depending on the thickness of your hair you may find it really helpful to back comb this hair pull the hair backwards and twist it once or twice and then push it forwards towards your face to create your pompadour you can secure this with a clip or a couple of bobby pins this is definitely a look that you can wear just like this or what I like to do is take the sides of my hair and twist those pinning them close to where the bobby pins are that are holding the pomp and the twisting gives volume to the sides of the hair but because the hair is pulled back it really showcases the pompadour at the front I love this look you can really accentuate this look by accessorizing with maybe an animal print head scarf or a classic red bandana tied around your head and knot it to the side you can also sweep all of your hair back into a high ponytail with the bandana still on or tied around the elastic awesome for dancing this next style probably has a proper name that I have no idea so I called it the Rip Curl because it looks like a beautiful way start by sectioning your hair off in a nice deep side parting so I generally take it from the arch of my eyebrow back and and just separate your hair with whatever you can find a bobby pin I'm using or a comb whatever and you're going to take a triangular section again maybe about and what's that about three inches back from the parting and then down to the opposite corner of your forehead again you're going to want to probably back home this section of hair it really gives you stability and ease of styling it helps you manipulate your hair into the style you want you don't have to use hairspray but hairspray will help it hold the style I take this section of hair and you're going to pull it taut in an opposite direction to your parting and you will roll towards the ceiling so rolling upwards wrap up the hair around your index finger now if you've curled your hair before this is going to really help because the pearls are going to help you form this pink curl slip your index finger out and pinch the curl and now roll towards your head roll backwards towards your head when you get near your face push down and this is going to create the swirl especially if you've back combed your hair to begin with you're going to have a lot of volume in the front and then it's going to go into this nice swirl and curl it sounds more confusing that it is pin at the back of the curl with bobby pins and try and disguise those bobby pins to really show off your nice curl at the front now I really like to sweep my hair back simply at the side the same side as the curl just twist and pin and then you can accessorize with a flower again you can put your hair up in a ponytail with this front swell and the side twists you can wear a bandana it's up to you you can do anything it's very versatile see just for the flower autopen dinner ok the pumps were for this style again if your hairs backcomb to begin with it's really going to help you're going to roll your hair backwards towards the back of your head and then pinch the roll and pull it to one side of your face now this is going to bring the swirl around you can then fiddle about with the end bits of your hair to make it into a nice swirl and pin so you're rolling a pompadour you're rolling your hair back into a barrel curl and then instead of fixing it to your head at the back you're going to pinch the pompadour and bring it to one side of your face so you're turning the swirl around and you can just pin it and spray and again you can wear your hair in all sorts of different ways this twist up the sides put a bandana and put a flower in put a ponytail in okay now rather than rolling back away from your face with this style we're rolling under and towards our face so pull the section of hair forward and pinch the ends and then roll with your fingers back and under towards your face you're going to make a roll or a tube of hair now keep your index finger in that tube and push it against your hairline this will enable you to fix bobby pins in along the length of your index finger and that's really going to hold the tube nice and securely to your head you'll be able to slip your index finger out and have the style give it a spray okay I'm going to be honest with you sometimes this doesn't work your fingers are going to get all caught up it's just not going to look cool so take a bun donor and cut it into quarters now these quarters you can use as little fillers that will roll your fringe up perfectly so you just take your hair and roll it around the bun donut towards your face forming a perfect different roll now even if there any sticking out bits you can use the bobby pins to flip them under the roll and bobby pin them to your head this is really secure I mean especially for going to where this fringe roll and all day you're going to need security to keep it nice and buoyant so you can shove bobby pins in left Center on this Bhairo little hold really securely perfect again accessorize wear it up wear it down rosie the riveter is a hugely iconic figure from the forties and you can simulate Rosie do by pinning your hair up at the back now I'm using a fake French roll here just to disguise all of our hair at the back you can stick it up into a messy bun or a big dry pin curl just get your hair up and off of your face and it really doesn't matter if it's a little bit messy on top because there were curls on top of roses look anyway and then just tie a bandana around your head knotting it to one side and then choose any one of the fringe roles that I have shown you in this video to top it off and you'll have a really good rosy look here's way of doing a fake victory roll victory rolls are awesome but while you're trying to master them you can wear these fake ones to give F a victory roll feel I will choose any one of my fringe rolls from this video and wear that at the front and then maybe one or two of these fake victory rolls to give a really nice pinup esque vintage style no one's going to tell you off for not doing a proper victory roll okay if you've only got two minutes to create a look then this is the one I would suggest just sweep all of your hair onto one side from a side parting and then on the side of the parting twist and pin the hair backwards if you've curled your hair previously you're going to get a lot of volume and a lot of flick and curl glamour and Vavoom on one side and then a smooth opposite side and where you can place a flower to accessorize it's going to give you a really instant vintage feel without any rolls curls or swirls done Wolffe we're
