home alone the smash hit movie of 1990 is for many a timeless classic that will forever hold a special place in their hearts but sadly with the passage of time the actors who bring movies to life pass away so we're gonna pay tribute to six Home Alone actors who are no longer with us some of their deaths were widely reported by the press others were not even mentioned today we will say their names and celebrate their lation work John Candy played Gus Polinski the Polka king of the West Gus over here is that Kevin's mom wants to make it home to Chicago and he offers her a ride in a rental van along with his travelin polka band in the van Gus hilariously wants Kate McCallister to play the clarinet as well as recounting how he mistakenly left his own child in a funeral parlor all day he adds that the kid was fine as he started to talk about some six or seven weeks later John Candy passed away March 4th 1994 while shooting the movie wagons east his cause of death was a heart attack while he slept he was only 43 years old Ralph foody played the gangster in the movie that Kevin watches while enjoying a huge bowl of ice cream the fictitious movie being angels with filthy souls Ralph foody famously says keep the change ya filthy animal causing Kevin a yell at mom and instinctively she realizes that Kevin has been left home alone Ralph who also starred in home alone - in John Hughes's curly sue died of cancer on November 21 1999 he was 71 Billy Byrd played Irene the old lady at the airport that Kevin's mother tries to persuade to part with her ticket for money and jewelry Billy Byrd sadly died on November 27 2002 she was 94 tragically she had been suffering with Alzheimer's disease for many years preceding her death bill Owen the man who played her husband has also passed away you might recall him telling Kevin's mom that she doesn't need any more earrings she's got a whole shoe box full of him dangly ones Owen died from natural causes at his home in Studio City California on December 29 2010 he was 96 Roberts blossom played old man Marley the name of that Kevin initially thought was a serial killer thanks to the wild stories of his imaginative older brother buzz Marley and Kevin eventually became friends at a choir rehearsal at the local church the scene is touching as not only does Molly impart some good advice for young Kevin but he also receives some sage advice on contacting his estranged son for Christmas which he happily does creating a double happy ending to the movie Robert blossom died at his nursing home on July 8 2011 from natural causes he was 87 and finally we pay tribute to John heard John played Kevin's father Peter McAllister his character was written purposefully as a somewhat emotionally detached father so that the focus of the story could be on Kevin and his mother reuniting for Christmas Peter McCallister's recently become a popular internet topic of discussion with many theories on how he's able to afford such a lavish home as his profession as never revealed in the movie how do you think he made his fortune John Hurd who also starred in part 2 sadly died of a heart attack on July 21 2017 he was 71 although these actors have passed away a piece of them will live on forever immortalized in the movies in which they appear and especially in home alone a Christmas classic that will no doubt still be a favorite for generations to come [Music] you
