hello and welcome to the war craft Academy guide to teach you how to play a fellow druid in mists of pandaria patch 5.4 now this guide was created by Tasman they fell dude with an impressive number of Rank 1 passes and a very in-depth understanding of Farrell's mechanics so starting with your stat priorities as a feral your first priority is to cap hid and expertise which is two five five one rating or 7.5 percent for each of those after that you'll be looking for agility then mastery then crit and then finally haste now if you have the rune of rear regeneration trinket from throne of thunder your stat priorities are massively altered due to the way this trinket works this is an incredible trinket that still remains best today in order to gain the most benefit out of the proc you want to reforge so that your mastery crit and haste are all equal with mastery ideally one point above the rest the easiest and most accurate way to achieve this is via a program called catice and you can find a download for this in the description this tool was created by Raffy who can't be given enough credit because it's a fantastic tool used by many top feral druids when it comes to your jamming it will again depend on whether you have the rune of rear Ridge ination trinket if you don't you'll go with pure agility in red slots agility and mastery in yellow slots and agility and hit in blue slots with rune of REE origination you'll be using a mixture of haste crypt and mastery hybrids in yellow slots in order to keep your stats even either way use catice to make specific jamming decisions for your gear and to decide whether a socket bonus is worth pursuing over pure agility in the blue slots you're using agility and hit by default however once you get over the hit cap it's best to swap in agility and stamina instead this won't give you a DPS increase but the extra hit is useless so you might as well gain some survivability from it instead the following are the best enchants and professions for feral blacksmith and engineering are best if you want to min max but anything will suffice as long as it gives a boost of stats such as alchemy jewelcrafting leatherworking or tailoring for glyphs feral doesn't have any mandatory Gliss but there are a few that you might consider using in different situations glyph of savagery is extremely useful for the start of the fight or when there is a break in combat and you're unable to generate combo points cliff shred can be useful in situations where you need to DPS the boss but you're not able to get behind him for whatever reason lip of cat form is helpful for progress fights because obviously the more healing the better glyph of stampeding roar is very helpful for your raid and ensures everyone will receive the speed boost from stampeding roar in a situation where you might use it those are the four that you'd widely use but there are a couple of others that have their moments talent choices are based on the encounter you're about to do some will be better than others in different situations from the first tier the best all-around option would be feline swiftness bringing passive human speed in cat form to 155 percent which is a lot the second tier only really offers you zeros gift the other two talents are much worse in comparison the third tier is a cc tier but generally speaking typhoon comes out on top in most circumstances the fourth tier looks interesting from the outside but the energy refunding from soul of the forest is very strong and helps smooth out your rotation and gets even better with gear which means to always your default choice when using the style of play we recommend force of nature is a viable alternative now that treants scale with mastery if you're going to use this you should use it when rune of rear regeneration procs in the fifty again you have a cc first most of the time you'll want to take ourselves vortex as it can be very handy in keeping a target or targets in place for an extended period of time sometimes mighty bash is good but a lot of other classes bring a stun whereas vortex is quite unique so it allows us to bring something a little bit different the six tier is up for debate when ultimately down to your own personal playstyle and preference dream of scenarios played to its maximum potential will provide the highest dps out of any of the talents but starting off and in some special circumstances part of the world is more suitable dream of cinereous requires a high understanding of how the spec works and how the encounter works and generally makes the rotation a lot more complicated part of the world requires less execution and keeps the rotation down to its most simple which makes it the best option if you're starting out from the beginning or wanting to perfect your rotation fergie R you want to be going for the fourth set bonus as quickly as possible the fourth set is extremely nice as it allows you to get out of sticky situations if you're unlucky with combo point generation and is also free combo points which you can't complain about it can be use very nicely with target switching which is a welcome change as feral is notoriously bad at this for your off piece the best non-war forged items are the shoulders from nazgrim and for heroic will Forge you want to be going for the leggings from dark Shaymin for weapons the halberd of inner shadows is best if it's heroic war Forge otherwise get the bun on a cutter or a pull arm from garish and after that the non warlord version of the halberd is next for trinkets rune of rhe origination from throne of thunder remains desk so do your best to go back and get the trinket if you don't have it for your second drink it you want harems talisman which is the multi-stripe trinket the ticking evan detonator is a little worse still viable this will make your passive rune of rear regeneration proc a lot larger since it has based secondary stats for since its ppm you're largely dependent on luck rather than skill therel uses energy and combo points to execute its rotation you have abilities that build combo points and abilities that consume them the following abilities generate combo points rate applies the debuff which has bleed damage over time it towards one combo point when used mangle and shredder are both fillers that deal damage and award a combo point shred can only be used when you're behind an enemy it does more damage than mangle but provides lower combo point generation due to its increased energy cost which means you only use it during dessert to make it more efficient swipe is an AoE spell and generates one combo point on your current target and the following abilities consume combo points savage roar increases your damage done by 40% for X amount of seconds it lasts longer the more combo points you had when you used it rip is a damage over time lead ability it does more damage the more combo points use to apply it ferocious bite does high damage and the damage increases the more combo points you had when you used it if the target is below 25% it will also refresh the duration of rip on the target which means you won't need to reapply rip manually ferocious bite uses 25 energy but it will consume up to 50 energy if you have it and deal 100% extra damage to do so you have two codons which are berserk and tigers fury berserk reduces the cost of all cat form abilities by 50% whilst it's active you'll be spamming shredder to generate combo points tigers fury instantly restore 60 and increases physical damage done for six seconds you'll be using this when your energy is under 35 and it's off cooldown for AoE you have thrash and swype thrash hits all targets within 8 yards and applies a dot to them but it costs a lot of energy because of its dot element it also has some use in single target swipe does damage to enemies within 8 yards and it does bonus damage to them if they're bleeding finally you have a few other abilities which don't really fit into any previous category faerie fire applies 3 stacks of thus underarm a diva this debuff can be provided by robes warriors and hunters - that only works once put a target that said you should try to keep this up when you can since you can apply 3 stacks much more quickly than others can omen of clarity procs are also quite important your auto attacks have a chance to proc the clear casting rough whilst you have this your abilities have no resource costs predatory swiftness is something you need to be aware of if you're using dream of scenarios as a talent when you get a predatory swiftness proc if you use Healing Touch it'll be instant cast and causes your next to melee abilities to deal 30% extra damage predatory swiftness can prop from your finishing moves and has a 20% chance to proc per combo point used for that finishing move therel does not deal in huge single target damaging abilities but rather a combination of a lot of smaller numbers a lot of girls damage is done via bleed dots so it makes mastering more valuable and this is greatly amplified by rune origination when you apply a bleed effect it takes a snapshot of your stats at the time you applied it and will benefit from those stats for its entire duration this means when you get trinket procs or other buffs you need to reapply those bleed effects for them to benefit from it the main goal of the rotation is to keep the lead dots up as much as possible along with savage roar and refreshing them when it's appropriate there's no set in stone rotation it's more about management at buffs and debuffs and acting on what's appropriate at the time I'm going to talk about the rotation assuming that you're using dreamless scenarios as a talent which gives the maximum possible DPS but it does make things quite a lot more complicated afterwards I'll show you what the rotations like without using it if you find this hard to memorize watch this section several times and refer to the written guide for a quick reference guide your priority system looks something like this first keep very fire up on every target you attack you can use this macro every time you switch target to make it easier next keep savage roar active ideally you want to be using this when you have five combo points for maximum efficiency but the main priority is to never let it fall off next if you're using dream of scenarios as the talent use Healing Touch if you have the predatory swiftness buff next whenever you have the predatory swiftness buff if you're using dream of scenarios as a talent use Healing Touch you should ideally only do this when you have four or more combo points but if predatory swiftness is going to expire before you can reach for combo points use it anyway use Tigers fury on cooldown as long as you're below thirty five energy you should also use Berserker at the same time as this whenever it's available or nearly available when you get a moment of clarity procs use thrash to apply the thrash debuff if thrash is already on the target with more than six seconds left you can use shred with these props instead next keep rake active on the target if possible you should use rake with one of your dream of scenarios charge for a damage boost next keep rip active on the target again ideally utilizing the dream of scenarios buff and you should also only use rip with five combo points when the enemy is below 25% you'll be using ferocious bite to keep rip up and making sure it never falls off next assuming you have all of your other priorities completed you can use ferocious bite to fill the gap as long as you have full combo points and you're confident that you'll have time to build back up to full combo points again before I need to complete any of the other actions this is something that you'll learn with time next try to keep thrash up on the target you should only do this if it won't interfere with keeping up your other dots or buffs and you'll probably only have around 50% of time on this finally your filler combo point generator is mangal obviously the real priority of this can be higher since you use it to generate the points to use to execute your higher priority abilities when rune of rio reginae ssin is active use rake as your combo point generator instead of mangle and when berserk is active use shred exclusively instead if I tell you to rake until 5 combo points this only applies if you're using rune of regeneration in addition when you're using rake you should never apply a less powerful dot for example if you have two charges of dream of scenarios only rake twice otherwise you'll be making it weaker overall you have a lot of different abilities to keep track of you'll want an add-on to tell you when you have predatory swiftness procs moment of clarity procs and dream of scenario stacks you can use an add-on such as we cores to make this a lot easier so with all that information in mind this is how you open in an encounter for this opener I'll assume you're using dream scenarios and have the tier 16 for set bonus if you don't skip to the other opener start by using Healing Touch a potion of Vernon's bite and then going into stealth before combat starts next use savage raw and then use ravage as your first attack on the boss which should put you on to combo points next use rake twice which ideally should put you at 5 combo points next use tiger's fury and desert together then savage roar again this will consume all 5 combo points and you'll be refunded 3 immediately from your tier 16 4 set next use rake until you're at 5 combo points and then use Healing Touch to consume your predatory swiftness buff make sure you do this before it falls off then you apply rip and then rake with the second charge the main point here is to get a 5 stat rip with a dream of cinereous and also a rake up on the boss both with every trinket and buff you have finally if you had some decent luck with crits you can then healing touch again with your new predatory swiftness proc and apply a thrash just before any of your original trinket rocks expire the whole idea here is to get all of your bleeds and important busts active with the maximum possible damage they could be doing before any of your initial trinket products expire now if you don't have the tier 16 4 set bonus where you aren't using dreamer scenarios for any other reason your opener is a lot simpler first use a potion of Thurman's bite then go into stealth before combat starts use savage raw and then ravage the boss when you can brake until you're at 5 combo points use tiger's fury and desert and then apply rip with 5 combo points apply rake you can then apply thrash and continue your normal priority list from then onwards for multiple targets keep thrash up on everything and you swipe to do general AoE if you're not needed to DPS a specific target for a fight like protectors aim to keep all three bleeds up on as many targets as you can and make the most of Runa origination blocks to reapply those bleeds and make them stronger but making sure the main target leo dpsing gets the most attention we might not do the greatest amount of damage to the ads in a fight but even with a lot of AoE we still do a lot of single target compared to other classes you can also use Soul Swap if you have symbiosis on a warlock which will allow you to copy your bleeds from one target to another without having to manually apply them all just some advanced thoughts the way you should think about DPS is anticipating what will happen in the next few seconds in advance from the moment you are in a fight a lot of your dps is about very simple energy management and planning your cooldowns properly for example the tier 16 4 set allows for two handy things to be done the first being a saver with regards to predatory swiftness procs if you have around 3 to 10 seconds left on a rip and no dream of sonorous props left you'll generally find yourself with tiger's fury coming off cooldown very soon this allows you to targets fury and then ferocious bite which in turn generates a predatory swiftness proc and 3 combo points on the target you can then mangle or rake to get up to 5 use healing touch and apply a rip with dreamer scenarios possibly even with tiger's fury you can aggressively ferocious bite in your downtime to buff your rip with juma scenarios rather than simply applying a rip without it and then having to reapply it again later when you get the stream of scenarios proc thank you very very much for watching this guide and if you have any comments or suggestions please post them on our forums
