toronto perth sunday adventist church baby so many memories flood in my mind when i think about this church but the one thing that remains constant is family you were there to see me get dedicated as a baby to see me baptized you were there to come to my graduation at crawford and venice academy and then you traveled from toronto canada to huntsville alabama to see me graduate at oakwood university formerly oakwood college you were there to see me get married to my wonderful husband byron brown 15 years ago and then where my beautiful children bj and elea were born you are there to see them and give them hugs and to embrace them you are also the first church to introduce me to this ministry called music i started singing at the church at the age of five years old and for those of you who remember it went like this the first verse i sang perfectly and then cried through the chorus as well as the second verse at the end of that you gave me a hug and looked at me and you said emma that first verse was perfect the next time you sing you'll do even better when you sing the second verse in the chorus i knew then that your support was unconditional and so for years to come i continued singing often times singing completely and doing great and always receiving the love and the encouragement there was one particular song that i sang and the year was 1991. i was 12 years old to be exact not really knowing what the words meant i knew that this song touched the members of the congregation for it was that one main song that i continued to sing for many years to come and so my gift to you is to simply say that i love you and god loves you and he wrote it in red [Music] [Music] you letters of crimson god rode his love on a hillside so long ago for you and for me jesus and love's greatest story was told [Music] i love you i love you that's what we said i love you i love you [Music] i love you return [Music] and down through the ages god wrote his love with the same hands that suffered [Music] giving all that he had to give a message so easily [Music] that's what a calvary said i love you i love you [Music] is flow that makes me wide as [Music] found i know nothing but the blood the blood of jesus [Music] [Applause] that's what calvary says [Music] i love you i [Music] love you [Music] god loves you and he wrote in [Music] thank you god for writing it in the glowing [Music] every mile [Music] [Music] and to go you must be changed yes jesus is the master of the city bride [Music] is [Music] and to go you must be changed [Music] change from this life of sin to one that brings great joy with them changed in the twinkling of a night [Music] to go you must be changed change from this life of sin to one that brings great joy with him [Music] we will meet him in the sky we will be changed [Music] shall live right god shall wipe away all tears no more sorrow pain nor fears [Music] and there'll be no darkness there god shall wipe away all tears no more segment of our um anniversary celebration here at toronto point sda church we are celebrating 50 years of the existence of this noble church so many things has happened over the last 50 years and we continue to give god thanks for all that he has done all that he's doing and all that he will continue to do in the future for us i'm excited to be a part of this chapter of the ministry here at toronto perth i hope and trust that as we worship god this afternoon that as we relive the memories of the past and experience his goodness in the present moment that we will look forward to another 50 years with anticipation trusting and believing that god will take us there god bless you for joining us this afternoon we have an amazing speaker he's a former pastor of this noble church he will be breaking the bread of life for this afternoon over the last couple of months we have been receiving some powerful messages from various pastors who pastored this congregation and we thank god for them for their service and all that they can they have done for this noble church and we look forward to all the pastors who will come after to continue to hold up this church and to spread the gospel in this community god bless you all as we continue to worship him in spirit and in truth our speaker for this afternoon is pastor dwayne fraser he was born in toronto canada in 2006 he graduated with a bachelor's degree in religion and theology from northern caribbean university in the beautiful island of jamaica in 2012 duane then completed a master's degree in pastoral studies with an emphasis in church development at oakwood university he has also completed his doctorate in ministry with an emphasis in church leadership at the wesley theological seminary in washington dc he has been blessed to share the gospel in north america europe and the caribbean dr dwayne fraser is married to the former christian nicole joseph who is a licensed clinical social worker she is also a singer songwriter and worship leader god has blessed their marriage particularly in this season as they have recently given birth to their first child and so they are celebrating that um currently dr fraser serves as a pastor of the first seventh-day adventist church in montclair new jersey and believes that by building people we build the kingdom of god he is your son he has pastored this church i know that you love him dearly and he is an amazing man of god a charming individual one who loves the lord and loves god's people a lot and so we thank god for him and how god is about to use him this afternoon to proclaim the final message of our 50th anniversary celebration god bless you preacher welcome back home i hope and trust that as you preach the word today it will take you back down memory lane where you can relive those moments where you shared here with your toronto poet family and they will also go back member lane and experience those moments together in the present moment god bless you god bless you church family as we worship you today in spirit and in truth let his peace be with you as you listen to this message well this is the day that the lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad in and happy sabbath toronto perth it has been too long it has been too long i am excited and delighted to be able uh to celebrate in this virtual space um with my family let me tell y'all there is no church like toronto perth a man of the church yeah put that in the chat no church like toronto perth on this wonderful uh 50th anniversary thank you so much uh to your pastors uh pastor eustis williams and pastor nick yeah for the for the invitation and also the the planning committee that that got all of this together i am eternally grateful that you have allowed this ball head preacher yeah i'm bald now um to come and to share a message with you there are so many things that i can share about my experiences at at toronto perth and when i think of perth um i think of first of all can i be honest i think about food let the church say amen yeah i think about food there is no church i have um i've never seen um any church yeah because yeah this is yeah i've never seen a church serve cow foot and oxtail and curry go i mean there is no church i remember the fun times that we used to have um with food let the church say amen and i miss those times i cannot wait until y'all reopen so that i can come back i don't know if pastor williams allows those things i know that pastor mary he allowed everything one time i had to tell him please um not pork not pork you know you know how he used to do so we're just so grateful not only do i think about food but i think about family um i learned at toronto perth how yeah how to be personal with people personable with people um i learned that relationships are important and so i i can't forget the many relationships that um i forged while there uh pastor dr cassamy had his rat pack um clara um auntie purlin auntie marvel and t marvel um and and sister rita and chirita and and um auntie yuna and the list goes on and they became my rat pack part two a man they took very good care of me while i was there and um oh i can't even freak i can't miss out i can't miss out how i didn't was i didn't want to start calling out names but um uh elder norma elder norma was was really grateful one of the best bible instructors i've ever worked with who used to give me food every wednesday thank you jesus and i can't forget sister tate's pizza oh yes everybody knows that pizza hut had nothing on her and i've missed that and wendell and his wonderful family everybody um i don't want to start naming you know calling names but it's just been a blessing the family the relationships um and i'm so grateful not only that but we had fun um toronto perth is the only church where i would play dominoes from from from uh sabbath night to sunday morning oh lord have mercy oh have mercy i remember there was a time whenever i didn't want to work a lot um when we worked too hard sorry that's what i meant to say uh with with dr nervel aloysius myrie myri that all i would have to do is say hey man let's play a game of dominoes and he would just say he would say one minute one one hour but one hour it turned into two hours and those were fun fun moments but then i cannot forget the fiery moments where worship was just amazing perth was not and still is not a dead church the holy spirit's presence could always be felt um with whomever you you got in contact with it was just an amazing and an awesome spiritual experience and i i will never forget my time there's so many stories that i could tell time will not permit me shout out to all my young people who are now older people like i saw some of the kids who were like kids like wendell's son and and um oh man i'm forgetting some of their names yeah when you get to my age you forget names but but i just want to say shout out to all you who i went to oshkosh with and um had a great time and so i think that god has a word for us that he wants me to share and i hope that it'll be a blessing to you as it is to me some of you may have heard yet that i am married now hallelujah and i have a beautiful baby girl soraya may fraser and um thank you all of you who have prayed and reached out um i want to share a word with you from the book of genesis genesis chapter 35 and i'm going to re be reading from verses 14 through to 21. i want you to help me preach my little sermon so um if if you are in your bedroom wherever you are at this time i'm gonna ask you just to remove all the distractions all if you're in the kitchen stop eating um for the next 20 minutes or so i think that god wants to speak to us as we celebrate the past which i just did and as we embrace the future all right so genesis 35 i'll wait till elder anderson finds it and the bible says and jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him even a pillar of stone and he poured a drink offering thereon and he poured oil there on and jacob called the name of the place where god spake with him uh bethel and they journeyed from bethel and there was but a little way to come to ephrath and rachel travailed and she had hard labor and it came to pass when she was in hard labor your bible says that the midwives said unto her fear not thou shalt have this son also and it came to pass the bible says as her soul was in departing for she died that she called his name but noni but his father called him benjamin let the church say benjamin write that in the chat and uh rachel died and was buried in the way to ephrath which is bethlehem and jacob set a pillar upon her grave that is the pillar of rachel's grave on to this day and israel journeyed and spread to his tent beyond the tower of eder oh man i'm gonna read that good i'm gonna i'm gonna read 19 to 21 one more time because when things are nice you ought to say them twice the text says and rachel died and was buried in the way to ephrath which is bethlehem and jacob set a pillar upon her grave that is the pillar of rachel's grave onto this day and israel journeyed and spread his tent beyond the tower of eder for the next few moments with the under the guidance of the holy spirit i want to speak to you on the subject grow up oh lord yeah yeah yeah yeah that's right that in the chat right then in chat grow up grow up grow up grow grow up grow up pray with me father we thank you so much for the total sufficiency of jesus christ we are grateful that you have brought us into this sacred space to hear another word from thee i pray o god that you would speak through me in spite of me i pray that someone's heart would be touched but not only touched but transformed have thy own way we pray and set every captive free you know the individual struggles hurdles obstacles that we are facing in this season speak to us now because we are all listening let the words of my mouth and my hearts meditation be pleasing in your divine side because you're a strength and redeemer and we say a man and amen grow up grow up grow up i hope you don't get upset with me but the reality is that i'm gonna pose a challenge to you and i know that you can handle it because it's perth and so here it is if you're still doing some of the very same stuff that you did when you met jesus 10 years ago and nothing has changed then that's a problem that that's that's that's a serious problem bump that if you have not changed since 50 years ago since you met jesus uh since you came to this great church then that is a problem and i and i know some of you are saying well pastor i'm growing because i don't do what i used to do and well for some of you that might be true but for others it's not that you have changed you just aged out of sin oh lord have mercy it's getting hot you you just can't do it anymore because you can't see as good as you used to you you can't drive where you used to uh where you used to go and see sometimes as a church we confuse modification of behavior with spiritual growth yeah but just because you don't do something doesn't mean that you have matured spiritually because often when it comes on to spirituality there are things that we should be doing and we're not and the burden that i carry for my people the burden that i carry for us as a church is that many of our people are spiritually stuck yeah if if i were to pull some of us right now if we were to be honest uh some of us would admit that we've heard some of the best sermons we've experienced some of the most moving worship services we've we've experienced a high time in zion that's what we say but we're still stuck on selfishness we're still stuck on pornography some of us are still stuck on gossiping some of us are still stuck on unforgiveness maybe i haven't called out your your your struggle yet some of us are still stuck on lying still stuck on low self-esteem we're still stuck on in discipline and i came to tell you that that part of the reason part of it is the church's fault yeah yeah i said it part of it is a church's fault because we have tried to grow people through programs instead of helping people to grow through a process preach phrase see we thought by simply transferring truth that it would lead to transformation and what we have done for years some of us what some of us have done for years we have tried to use uh our truth and we've tried to say okay once you know the truth it shall set you free and it's easier to do that why because it's it's easier to inform people than it is to invest people invest in people yeah yeah yeah and today i've come to share with the church that spiritual growth is is is a process and it is messy it's risky it is intrusive it involves you being intentional and accountable in relationships your relationship with god and your relationship with one another it involves you being vulnerable transparent and god wants to take somebody in perth today to another level but the truth is he wants to take the church to another level but we've got to be willing to go through the process yeah and i just came i just wan i'm just wondering if there's anybody online today who wants in this season to grow spiritually is there anybody who's tired of being stuck yeah i know that you'd have been to church for a long time that you uh you sing on the praise team you've been leading bible class for years i know all of the stuff but the reality is there are some of us who are still stuck and is there anybody who wants to live without limitations and strengthen areas that are weak if if you are such a person then right in the chat let's grow let's grow because after all jesus did not come so that you can live in dysfunction but he came that you would have life and have it more abundantly yeah yeah so hop on with me homiletically as we go through this text and we explore the context of this text ah there there is a brother by the name of jacob you know jacob ah he is what we call a trickster he is a deceiver that's what his name means and he's also a great pretender he pretends to be somebody who is not the bible says that he pretends to be his brother esau and steals his inheritance with the help of his mother and because he knows that when his mother and his with because he knows sorry that when his father and his brother find out that that that is going to be a major confrontation your bible says that he does what a lot of us do whenever we know we're going to hear the truth about ourselves ah the text says that he runs away and i know it's too early in the sermon but but but i got one question for you who or what are you running away from so that you are not exposed to the weak areas of your life so because see i've learned here it is that you cannot conquer what you're not willing to confront and at some point you've got to be willing saints of god to be able to accept the truth about ourselves and grow from it because at the end of the day here it is there is no healing in hiding ah that's good and so in his attempt to run he finds himself in a place called loves yeah yeah yeah in luz he's afraid in luz he's disappointed and he's embarrassed by what he has done he stole his brother's birthright uh with the help of his mother and now he is ashamed and now he is lonely uh have you ever been to a place called luz have you ever been in your experience where you're embarrassed by the past you're embarrassed by what you have done where you felt like no one really cares but the bible says here is the good news that this is where he finds god yeah yeah god gives him a dream that reveals to him that god has not forgotten him he sees a ladder connected from heaven to earth uh and a matter of fact uh the bible says that god told him that he would be great that this mistake will not define you and you will get through this and aren't you glad i know it's early but aren't you glad that god meets us where we are some of the most memorable places that i've met god was not always in the church building but sometimes it was while i was driving it was while i was at work somewhere jacob says thank you god for his mercy i feel like lifting him up right now i feel like lifting up the name of jesus right now because god knows who jacob is and still loves him oh that ought to make somebody shout let me tell you why because there are some people if they know the truth about you they would not like you yeah if they know all of you they would not like you you see some people know the sunday you some people know the sabbath you or or the prayer meeting you they don't know the friday night or the tuesday night you but the bible lets me know that god loves me and he knows all of me can i preach some people will hate you based on ah some people will hate you based on speculation but god will love you with all the evidence that ought to lift somebody up right now and jacob finds himself in a good place because god knew everything about him and loves him now the bible then tells us that jacob changes the name of the place from lust to bethel let the church write in the chat bethel bethel meaning house of god because god has the power to help you rename some of the hurtful places of your life the place of pain can be transformed into the place where you find your purpose jacob says now to god that if you come through for me so that i can return to my father's house in peace then i will come back to this place called bethel and give you worship this is the context of genesis chapter 35 and in this chapter jacob is on his way home but he stops off at bethel as he had promised and i noticed that there were some changes that in in in jacob's life now that he came back to bethel the second time i i noticed there was some growth i noticed there was some growth and all i came to tell you that if you're going to experience growth in this season if the the future is going to be better than even the past then you've got to experience growth in three areas just like jacob number one the first area of growth that jacob received uh was in worship yeah let the church say worship write that worship worship worship where are you getting this from well well when he was at bethel the first time in genesis 28 verse 18 let's look at what the bible says because this is about to get the the this is about to get a a gooder i know it's not a real word um i i know it's not a real word but it's not good grammar but it's good theology here it is in genesis chapter 28 and verse 18 the bible sorry uh yes sorry yes yes here it is here it is here it is are you all ready the bible says in verse 18 and jacob rose up early in the morning and took the stone that he had put for his pillows set it up for a pillar and poured oil upon the top of it yeah this is what this is what happens the first time that he's at bethel so he takes a stone he sets up a pillar and then he pours oil on top of it don't miss this but when you read the text in genesis 35 verse 14 it tells us that not only does jacob pour oil but he also pours a drink offering on top of the altar you all just missed your shout the text says that he took some wine and poured it on it he he he as he's giving worship to god he adds a new dimension to his worship it's because why does he do this well it's because when he got to bethel the first time in chapter 28 he still had some unresolved issues with esau yeah remember i just told you that he was running away from isa because he stole his birthright he stole his inheritance but by the time we get to chapter 35 those issues are resolved they reconciled in chapter 33 of the book read it whenever you have time and so in biblical antiquity in biblical times whenever they offered a drink offering to the lord it was always because god had given them hear me god had given them a great victory in a particular area of their life that was their way of celebrating god whenever they went to offer sacrifices they would add a wine offering to their sacrifice saying god i recognize that you have done a new thing for me so watch this watch this this is so good jacob hear me oh this is good jacob is returning to bethel jacob is not returning to bethel with all of the same issues he left bethel with ah that's good that's good he experienced growth and so he's worshiping god a little differently oh can i preach like i'm feeling the question is when you go back to bethel yeah when you go back to the house of god when you go back to perth will you in person will you go back with the same issue you left the building with or or will you go back differently will you go back with the same lack of in discipline ah the same lack of discipline will you go back to being codependent or always needing the praise team to will you into worship will you go back with your entitled self your doubting self your condemning self your mean self jacob said well things are a little bit different now and while i can't shout on perfection i can sure enough shout on pearl on progress and i'm going to worship god differently now that i've experienced grace ah in a particular area of my life i can't worship god the same way i did pre pandemic i've got to worship him a little differently now and is there anybody who can testify online right now that you don't worship god the same way you did in 2020 as you do now in 2021 because he's given you victory in some areas of your life ah you got the job that no one thought that you could get ah you kept a job that everybody thought you were going to lose some of you were all my married folk ah you still have your marriage intact after all that you done been through in 2020 in quarantine and you now can testify that god is good some of you have caught covida but you're still here some of you are sick but you're still here can anybody praise god that we cannot worship god the same way we did before we left the house of god but now that we're coming back to the house of god we've got to lift up his name we've got to praise him some of you have given birth when doctors thought that it was impossible so you worship him differently some of you have gone through hell and back and now you are here now you're wiser now you're stronger so you've got to give god praise differently someone said when i look back over my life and i think things over i can truly say that i am blessed does anybody have a 50-year testimony does anybody online can can we just stop and give god some praise because we have been through hell we've been through toils and snares but god has been faithful and we've got to praise him differently yes yeah uh-huh uh-huh and if your worship hasn't matured since last year then you've got to check yourself because surely god has given you victory in some area of your life and can i be honest toronto perth i have wondered why some of us don't worship him like he has done anything and then it struck me it struck me so some time ago i was flying from dc when we used to live in in in in maryland and so i was flying from flying sorry flying to dc and um everyone was was scrambling to get on this plane because this plane was the last plane that flight this was the last fight that was leaving to dc because we were in a terrible snowstorm now i just knew that they were going to tell me that i would have to stay and sleep in the airport because everybody had missed their flights and now this one was going to be overbooked and so now i hurried to the gate to see if i could catch this flight and so when i got there uh when i got there i said to the to the flight attendant i said i'll miss i'm just trying to get back home and so she said to me give me a second i said all right so i just knew what she was gonna tell me i just knew she was gonna say i'm sorry sir you're gonna have to sleep in the airport but then she said sir uh come here i need to speak with you i said go ahead ma'am she said well uh she said do you mind she said do you mind uh if we do uh do we she said we have no more seats in coach do you mind if we bump you up to first class i said do i mind do i i said do you mind if i hug you she smiled and so i boarded the plane uh i boarded the plane i'm in first class y'all don't hate celebrate i've got extra leg room and before you clown me talking about pastor you don't need any extra leg room because you're not five you're nothing but five six the devil is a liar i have grown y'all i've grown and so now i'm in first class and i'm enjoying the the the benefits of being in first class but i could not help but notice that while i was in first class that there was a man over there who was just complaining about everything i heard him say i need x another pillow uh the man said i need i'm i'm accustomed to better attention than this and while he was complaining i was just smiling i was just smiling like i won a million dollars one passenger hear me was gr was grumbled sorry one passenger grumbled but i was grateful and why why the difference because one passenger paid his way into first class and i got my seat as a gift oh i feel like preaching there are some people who can't worship god differently because they think that god owes them something because they paid their dues they returned their tithe they've been in the church for a long time but is there anybody who knows that god doesn't owe us anything because all our righteousness are as filthy rags but as a matter of fact we know that jesus paid it all and all to him we owe when you know that god has blessed you and you don't deserve it you give god praise all the time every time when you wake up here it is every day above ground is a good day because you realize that last night could have been your last night but god looked beyond your fault and ministered to your every need you know that you should not have been here you know that all the stuff that you went through it should have taken you out but somehow god allowed goodness and mercy to follow you all the days of your life and that ought to give you make your worship a little different yeah yeah yeah yeah let me hasten on the other growth the other area of growth that jacob experiences is in his family life yeah yeah it's in his family life because you can't be a worshiper and not experience growth in your family that's good that's good you can't be a worshiper and not speak to your children you cannot be a worshiper and abuse your spouse because spirituality covers every area of your life and so the text says that as they're leaving bethel i know that that was rough i know as as they're leaving bethel and are headed to their their father's house rachel the text says the bible says that she goes into hard labor can i just stop right there this is when you know that you're closest to your promise when you experience serious labor pains and listen and listen be careful who you allow in your delivery room because some people's assignment is to kill what you're giving birth to yeah that was good the the bible says that she gives birth to a baby boy and she names him bononi she names him not based on his potential but but based on her pain because bononi means son of my sorrow yeah she names him not where he is going but where she is and nothing is more dangerous than misnaming your situation uh-huh yeah yeah yeah and so uh uh uh uh uh jacob says no no his his name will not be bononi that the text says that he says his name will be benjamin yeah which means son of my right hand yeah yeah and and and i see growth in jacob because in his family life and and and and there are two reasons that jacob makes the decision to rename his son number one here it is because he did not want to relive the painful sorrow of his wife's death by giving his son that name if he kept the name every time his sons every time he said his son's name it would have reminded him of what of his wife's sorrow and he didn't want to fall for watch this he didn't want to fall into the temptation of treating his son poorly because of what his son symbolized oh yeah see see some parents will mistreat a child because of what the child symbolizes they symbolize the divorce they symbolize the deadbeat dad jacob says i will not fall into that trap and and number two here it is number two jacob renames his son because he understands the power of a name yeah yeah i told you at the beginning of the sermon that jacob's name meant pretender a deceiver trickster and so all of jacob's life he lived down to that name yeah so he says i'm not going to only i'm going to break the curse i am going to break the generational curse and i'm going to give him a new name and some of you under the sound of my voice you have been living down to the name that others have been calling you the parents your teachers or somebody in authority and you have experienced a pattern of pain simply because they told you you were nothing for good and that you weren't going anywhere and so now you are stuck but i'm here to tell you the good news is that whom the sun sets free of is free indeed and god can help you get past your past god can help you to free you up so that you can live in accordance with his uh with his plan for your life and so the good news of the gospel is that god can set you free now he changes the dynamics of his family life he no longer thinks about himself but he thinks about the next generation by renaming his son and i'm so glad that he did because bible readers know that from benjamin came a brother by the name of paul ah yeah read your bible and from paul the we know that paul wrote more than the half of the new testament because god is able to change the trajectory of your life when you surrender it to him god can break the cycle and the dysfunction so that you can be all who he has called you to be yeah but not only as here as i give you my final point not only did he experience growth and worship not only did he experience growth in his family relationships but finally he experienced growth in his purpose verses 19 to 21. oh this is this is good this is good we just read it and no one shouted so i'm gonna oh please please please please just write that in the chat purpose purpose purpose because this is about to get good the bible says in verse 19 to 21 let me read that again rachel died and was buried in the way to ephrath which is bethlehem and jacob set a pillar upon her grave that is the pillar of rachel's grave onto this day and israel journeyed and spread his tent beyond the tower of eder i feel like you all just missed your shout y'all just missed it the text says rachel dies jacob buries her and israel went on okay okay okay let me say that again that rachel rachel dies uh jacob buries her and israel went on ah rachel all dies jacob buries her and israel went on that was the third time for the holy ghost rachel you need to remember is the love of his life but if you know the bible you would know that jacob and israel are the same person yeah that after jacob wrestles with jesus that his name gets changed from jacob trickster to israel blessed one but what was keeping jacob from being israel at that particular time was rachel it's because perhaps maybe maybe israel was merit sorry maybe rachel was married to jacob and not israel all preached phrase and one of the most difficult things that you will ever experience is that you're trying to be israel but people bring out the jacob in you when you're trying to walk in your purpose but they're trying to get you to cuss when you're trying to walk in your purpose but here someone on a church board is being mean and nasty when you're trying to walk in your purpose but then they're talk they're gossiping about you when you're trying to walk in your purpose but here they are texting you at night when you're trying to walk in your purpose and he's texting you telling you remember the last time when you're trying to be holy but here they are trying to tell you to come and drink but be and because your promise is greater than the people in your life god has to let your rachel die so that you can be that so that he can accomplish what he wants to accomplish in your life but when god is with your purse i wish i had a church your rachel is not the end of you it is the beginning of you all you need is god and i don't know who i'm preaching to today but in order for you to be in order for the church to be where it ought to be then some things have got to die somebody's that somebody's got a rachel that's got to die a relationship that has got to die a partnership that has got to die a habit that has got to die and i came to encourage everybody because you've been crying over your marriage that died and your relationship that died and the dream job that you lost no need to be discouraged it had to die so that you can live your best life no need to have a pity party for yourself it had to die as a matter of fact i want you to bury it uh so you won't go back to it bury the pornography bury the lust bury the pride bury the perfectionist attitude a very low self-esteem as a matter of fact i feel like having a funeral right now earth to earth and ashes the ashes and dust to dust bury that thing goodbye rachel i'm no longer me i'm in no longer me i'm in no need of you anymore goodbye rachel i don't have to call you anymore goodbye rachel i found a new purpose in jesus and i'm going to be all that god has called me to be uh let it die let the sorrow die let the frustration die i came to tell you be not dismayed whatever the tide god will take care of you i know it's rough right now but a weeping will endure for a night but joy comes in the morning it's time to grow up yeah and that's the word on today that is the word that god can help you in this season as a church also individually if you let it die whatever that thing is and grow in your purpose grow in your worship and grow in your family relationships that's how we embrace the future with god if you were blessed today and you want to recommit you want to get out of this state of stuttness that you're currently experiencing i invite you just to buy your heads with me as we pray god we thank you that you see us for who we are and you still love us give us the power to walk in our purpose and to worship you differently and to experience growth in our family life because we understand that spirituality covers every area of our lives bless this your people perth continue this this church has done many things it has it has created it has uh created preachers bible instructors teachers lawyers doctors this is a birthing ground for great things and i know the enemy is upset i know i don't i don't become who i am had i not gone to perth and experienced my first church there so i pray blessings on every family under the sound of my voice continue to lead your leaders and if we should never meet again lord please help us to meet it in the land meet when the land is made new thank you for hearing thank you for answering in jesus name we say amen and amen god bless you may the lord bless you and keep you may he cause his face to shine upon you and give you peace both now forevermore we say amen amen god bless you let us pray when we were there ten thousand years bright shining us the sun we have no less days to sing god's praise than when we first begun our kind loving and eternal father the prince of peace and the king of glory we come before you this morning and this beautiful sabbath day to lift up the name of jesus we are so grateful for the access that we have that we can come boldly to the throne of grace and cry our father father we thank you for your grace and your mercies towards us for while we were yet sinners you died on the cross to set us free as we come today lord in the name of jesus we pray for inner cleansing that the blood of jesus christ god's son will cleanse us from all and righteousness as we petition the throne of grace we come with a heart of gratitude a heart of thanks given this morning lifting up the name of jesus giving you thanks lord for the storms that you have brought us through for the journey that you have led us on for 50 years lord we thank you so much because we know today we would not have make it this far without your grace and mercy father we thank you for all the prayers that you have answered for us we thank you for every miracle that you have performed for us lord we thank you for every blessings that you have restored upon us throughout the past 50 years lord the journey was not great but we know father god through you today we are here this morning father god we know god that we could not have make it by ourself but today we can join in with a song rarity when he say your grace and mercy has brought us this far somebody said look what the lord has done if we should go down through memory lane father god we have so much to be thankful for because you have been there for us you have carried us when we couldn't care ourselves you lift us up father god when we were down you make way for us in the wilderness father you opened the doors and you have poured out blessings upon us throughout the past 50 years and this morning we come to tell you thanks because god you have been a good god father we know lord that we have lost so many of our pioneers along the way but as the scripture said in everything give you thanks because we are more than conquerors through jesus christ who have been with us father we thank you for the many lives that you have rescued of darkness we thank you god almighty for the many bodies that you have healed oh god the broken hearts the weary hearts lord those that have been sad you gave us victory lord we are grateful today and we thank you so much for being merciful unto us we thank you for leading us this part because god we know had it not been for christ on our side we would not have made it through the past 50 years so lord with a heart of gratitude with the heart of thanksgiving we come to lift you up this morning we come to tell you that we appreciate you lord we come to give you glory praise is an honor for there is no god like jehovah no one else deserves the praises this morning but god almighty because you have been good you have been wonderful you have been great to us this morning and for that reason lord we say thank you jesus may you continue to be with us father we don't know what lie ahead of us the songwriter said many things about tomorrow it seems not to understand but we know who is all in tomorrow and we know who is holding the perth avenue church hand so lord into your divine hands this morning we commit the part of the new church i pray god that you will continue to direct us as you have directed us in the part we are asking you lord to guide us daily as we continue to serve you as we continue to walk in the pathway that you have led us as we continue to glorify you and love you we pray for continual blessings so lord into your divine hands we commit each one each member of this church lord we commit them into your hands for god we lift you up this morning we glorify you we praise you this morning we adore you this morning god because indeed the god that we serve is an awesome god this morning there is no god like jehovah no one else could take care of us the way you did no one else could provide for us the way you did no one else could have led us the way you did and for that reason this morning with the heart of thanksgiving we say thank you jesus until then father
