hello Deborah here from the Costa Blanca welcome to my next video entitled your first fusing okay so let's fuse a few basic pieces to start off with I've just got some bits of scrap dasi I'm going to start off with this one and I'm going to be putting this on top because I think this is going to create a nice colorful piece I like colorful pieces as I say there are there's only a few patents aren't clear that you can put on top of de Croy that isn't going to blot it out which is why I use it primarily use other techniques but for getting started you're just going to want to do this other person's apart their learning curve and then maybe you'll get onto other things you find ideas that you like themselves clean that with a bit of alcohol and clean that one in so I'm just going to do a basic square base add these two millimeter two millimeter and then I'm going to add two millimeter of chaos so we're gonna have gonna go through the Kreutz side down because I don't think people then blot it out too much there so we're gonna have to clear this because it's got a bit of shaded black in it if you can see a bit shady place like like a gradient which will be nice in the piece I can get that in and a nice bright blue in the middle so if you've got one of these boards you've got squares on them that can that you can use for lining up the piece and I'm just gonna do four squares here because if I get it an equal square then I can turn it around and have it diamond which is quite nice on a piece sometimes when you're Katyn make sure you get a thick thick ruler which I'm gonna keep forgetting to get one because the thinner ones when you're cutting if if they're too thin this gets stuck and so like you go on the edge like that and you're not actually deep enough to cut you know I mean like gets caught because that these cutter things stick out proud of the actual bit there so you can get stuck on them so you can go to Kurt and you've got court on them I find anyway with a thicker one I know I'm not going to get cut on it caught on it I'm just learning they're just going to use this for now it's got a nice straight edge to it and go to some country on the back of the Detroit so that I don't damage it now we're taking care to line it up because you this is for people that don't have grinders and want to get personally a perfect piece as possible if you've got a grinder you wouldn't be too precise because you could grind it down afterwards right side down I'm sorry I'm turning it's because I'm sitting at a funny angle if you're going to cap it with you clear on top you cut you clear slightly bigger than that piece so that it folded over and gave a nice shape to it this one's slightly bigger than the one below because this is this is like going to be a cap as well because you de Croy X facing down you've got all gas on the top there so that's going to act as your cap if you want to put glue on plastic gel or breast type glue between them you can do so that's my buffer because I'm putting this to grow excite dad and that's going to be the piece six millimeters thick that should come out nicely without any grinding I think that's going to look nice you can start to see the colors with the blue underneath so that's one piece we're going to put that in the kiln in the moment then the other piece is too and in fact this is forget the rule life you'll see when you please I've just explained these with polymer and granite and having bone you if you buy them three mil because they've got big deep ridges on then they tend to use more light for help and you'll see that when you measure them it's good to be new enough anyway just to show you so we've got their book can you see there that is exactly six mil so well they like that well it was a scrap pile though that's basically three mil because of all the ridges on it and that it's more like realistically like four and that's two mil so with this I have to have the declaring side up on the top wash unless I want to put a layer of clear powder or fine fruit or even medium fish that's not going to blot it out too much and I think that's going to be a lovely colorful another colorful piece there's no square of it again little bits that inevitably come so that you can put your glass cleanly side down again I'm just trying to find any for a nice square corner might as well use that because these herringbone rainbow police having bone granite and with ones that can be hard to cut like for example if you wanted to cut a little piece off to get say if you wanted to get a straight line down then you were going to cut a little piece off there they're so hard to break this will be okay because we're doing it in a square and you'll know to grow exciton these compact textured ones anyway because the de Croy keys actually on the textured side see that was a lot harder to cut so those are two pieces Tina glued them if you want so deployed side up on this one really nice if you can see that and then we're going to put them in the kiln I thought we'd do another one as well to help fill the kiln up and the dish just spotted these two pieces of glass they're both patterned textured on clear and I thought they'd look nice together Florentine and radio so let's give it a go I'm going to fuse them with the Florentine on the bottom and the radium with the de Klerk side facing downwards so the Florentine decried side is up and the radium vertical side is down so I'll have to put a buffer in there so they're all two millimeters so I'm going to put some clear glass in the middle and that will give me six millimeters and let's see how that comes out okay so that's the three pieces they're all two centimeters by two centimeters just cleaning them now with alcohol I'm going to put them together in the order that I want and then I'll confuse them along with the others okay so here they are out of the kill this is the one that was like this just remind you this is how it's come out very pretty the little bit of those de crocus news diet at the sides which is common but it's kept its shape pretty well put a bail on that and you'd have a lovely diamond pendant to wear you can see the colors you need are gorgeous and when you move it in each direction this one is the circle the one that we tried as a circle not quite come out right is going to need some cold work on that a few little points on the edges this is what this is what happens with decoy jewelry it's very difficult to get anything absolutely perfect especially on the full fuse it's much easier on the tack view but that's what the idea of these videos is to show you exactly what does happen in the real world when you're fusing glass but you know it's still a very pretty piece this is the other one which was like this I just show you and it has blotted the the background that you mean you can see the background very faintly it still makes a nice pendant it's got a lot of interest to it but it is possible that we can etch that pendant to show what's underneath so I'm gonna keep that for a later project but it would be perfectly sellable the way it was this one is the final one that I decided the last minute to do and it's absolutely gorgeous as you could see the colors in it are really really nice considering it was done still unclear unclear both clear pieces it is absolutely beautiful you can see the desk in the piece and this is what it's like it had I put it on a black background which is quite possible to do well thank you very much for watching the video I hope it's been useful for you for your first views and giving you a bit of insight into how pieces can turn out and stay with me from my next video if you would where we look at creating blobs of glass that can be cut out with a dremel ground on a grinder and then used for scenic pieces and various other options hope you'll join me then and please like the video if you liked it subscribe and turn on the
