what's going YouTube Mike here again it's my 2018 Toyota Tundra here are five reasons why I chose it over the Ford f-150 [Music] what's going on guys I'm in my 2018 Toyota Tundra I've been looking for a full-size pickup for a couple of months I went from a Toyota Tacoma which I put over a three hundred twenty thousand miles on and fortunately I need stuff I needed a truck to tow things with so I opted to get a I I settled not settled that's not the correct word I graciously purchased a two thousand eighteen eight two thousand eighteen Toyota Tundra now I did my research I had no idea about full-size pickup trucks so I did as much research as I could I narrowed it to a minute previous videos about four different pickup trucks that I was looking at and I narrow that search down to two so the final two was a Toyota Tundra and the other one was a Ford f-150 with the Ford certain things I liked about the Ford was it's the number one selling pickup truck so many people can't be wrong I almost picked up an XLT and unfortunately the salesman it just rubbed me the wrong way and I didn't end up picking that one up so I ended up with this 2018 Toyota Tundra previously I was looking at 2017 models to try to save some money you know I am always about getting a deal so these are my five reasons why chose the tundra over the Ford f-150 number one is the price now if you look on the internet they say that the Ford f-150 starting price is cheaper than the Toyota Tundra which is true but when you start to you know build your truck or build it the way that you want it to with accessories that you want it to if you were to you know this truck in particular the sticker price will I have the sticker price I have right here six price so the sticker price is actually at forty five thousand and forty four dollars when I went to build a similar truck with the Ford f-150 the total came up to forty seven thousand five hundred dollars so forty seventy five now the reason being is that they have so many build options with the Ford f-150 now I'm comparing apples to apples so when I compare apples to apples I wanted a v8 I did not want a turbocharged 3.5 v6 which you know is more expensive obviously now with that price from forty five thousand sticker to forty seven five the reason being is that Ford f-150s have all these weird packages they have like so many different types of packages so many different types of models you wanted a center shifter a center console shifter you had to get this package and that package came with all these extra stuff and you had to get this and unfortunately you couldn't get that and it kind of forced you to buy more than what you wanted so that was the reason why the price ended up being more so I'm doing it at comparisons to apples to apples and unfortunately well not unfortunately but the tundra was cheaper I got it for a great price I'm gonna tell you right now for this truck and I'll do this in the future video out the door includes registration and tax got this for forty two five so this truck I got for forty two five so next video I'm gonna explain that to you how do I get a great deal now with this particular truck and so price price was extremely important the tundra was cheaper okay number two reliability Toyota's are notoriously known to be reliable you ask anyone people have been converted from other brands and dealerships just for the simple fact of the reliability now you might have the best truck in the world that's truck in the world but is it if it doesn't last for two years or it breaks down all the time or it's in the shop you know you to be in the race you gotta be in the Rakata it has to move so that's one of the things that you know I wanted to say is that reliability is a huge deal to me for some of you and might not be and that's completely fine but to me it is a huge deal for reliability see number three ties in with number two the reason why I think it's reliable it's because it's made in the US that's right Toyota's are the most I don't know how to put word Toyota's are the most US made vehicle out of all the pickup trucks so I believe the statistic is seventy five percent of the parts on a Tundra are manufactured in the US and they're assembled in the US so I you know uh I'm American and I want to buy us parts I want to buy us made items to help our economy to help our people to help you know workers and and you know creating jobs here so I believe is important to buy US and I wanted to buy the most American truck out there you know the Fords they have plants in Mexico believe they're assembled in Mexico and a lot of the things that are in there that are manufactured for their truck are from all over of places overseas so I wanted an American truck that's why I went with the tundra number four is execution and finish now the the what I wanted in a pickup truck was I wanted four by four I wanted a v8 and I wanted to tow my car's tol race cars those are my prerequisites those are the things that I did I only wanted so one of the VA I wanted 4x4 and I wanted to toe so I had no you know extra qualms about it I wanted that that was exactly what I wanted if they had a little extra it was nice but simply put those are the things that I wanted oh yeah and I wanted a you know I wanted a quad cab our crew backs I don't know which you know everyone has different terminology for those things but I wanted to see five people comfortably so those are the things that I wanted the tundra I believe did exactly that and the finish and execution of the items were done very well so just me touching the steering wheel right now I want it to feel like it's gonna last a long time a lot of you know if you if you touch certain products you can feel the quality in them you can feel the finish in them you could you know when I test drove a Ford f-150 and I sat it in and I started playing with the buttons the buttons didn't really feel it's really busy by the way I mean the the interior but the buttons didn't really feel crisp they felt like squishy they didn't feel they felt plasticky I know they're made out of plastic but the main fact is I I know the difference between a you know a high-quality plastic and something that's really flimsy so I wanted something really solid and I really felt that with the tundra like when I when I drove and I didn't want to feel any play in the shifter or like the glove box or anything I wanted everything to be solid and I wanted a solid pickup truck you know number five it's arguable and you might you know pull your hair out but I wanted a truck for its simplicity what I mean by that is the Ford f-150 you could pretty much go on the website and try to build one you be stuck there for like minutes like 30 minutes building your truck they have so many different options they have like five different grills and you know here's stickers and here's this package and this is 3.0 package in the 3.0 to package and the 501 package and you want this and you want that and it was you know that's why some of the trucks the Ford f-150s could get in like the high 60000 range with how yeah yeah you built everything and there was so much going on and what I mean by that is the reason why I wanted a v8 and not like EcoBoost is I didn't want to pay for if the turbo went out you know what I mean I didn't want to pay for all these added things that I didn't want and could cause problems later and this is based on you know engineering the less moving parts the more unlikely it is to break okay so if it's really you know you know what does that thing call it simple stupid key the phrase is keep it simple stupid I wanted simply a pickup truck 4x4 quad cab tow tow cars that's all I wanted and I felt overwhelmed with the Ford f-150 that it just had a whole bunch of stuff like it had like you could start the car with your phone and it could track you with GPS and have this and have that and it just had so much going on that it was like a Swiss Army knife truck and I didn't want a Swiss Army knife truck I wanted the truck to do a specific thing and I felt it was overly overly done with the Ford f-150 it's just too busy you know what I mean and I want it very simple simple simple simple and I felt for what I wanted for the tundra did it perfectly like is what exactly sidenote resale value Toyota's our Toyota Tundras are known to have the best resale value out of any truck now it's important to me because vehicles have the highest depreciation value and I wanted something that's gonna be as valuable or close to the value that I bought it for Tundras are just that they retain their value incredibly and I wanted something to be you know down the road it will still be worth money ten years down the road this is still gonna be worth something and I want it to be a representation of the good kick if I take care of something really well it'll still hold its value later on so those are the reasons why I chose the Toyota Tundra over the Ford f-150 no I know you guys are gonna argue and please in a comment section below tell me what you think am I wrong did I overlook certain things if you have facts or articles please place them down below I want to check them out I want to see if I made the right decision I believe I did make the right decisions you guys helped me you know narrow it down to the two trucks that I were looking at and the reason being is that I why I chose a Toyota Tundra over the Ford f-150 where those specific reasons so anyway guys please thank you for watching please like and please subscribe and comment down comment down below and let me know what you think
