attraction we talk often about frame control the frame is the viewpoint through which a person's situation or interaction is perceived frame control is when two different viewpoints collide and then a battle ensues imagine that you tell a girl that she's great style she says I'm not interested why would she volunteer that information because she thinks you're hitting on it her frame or underlying viewpoint is that in this interaction you said to hit on her but what if you just genuinely liked her style and there were no ulterior motives and your frame was just hey your style is the open I believe in giving compliments instead of withholding them these frame battles are subtly happening all around us all the time I talked about it in the James Bond breakdown and Donald Trump is a master of frame control it doesn't matter what happened or what was said he will find the way to reframe it in his favor in this clip we'll see the reporter toss one frame into contention that Trump needs to would have used even half of that word it would have been national scandal this guy used a filthy disgusting word on television and he should be ashamed of himself and he should apologize okay so how does he reframe so well two ways one he always changes the focus and when the focus changes so does the frame and two he doesn't get rattled does he his frame always comes with a dish calmness in don't need anybody's money it's nice I don't need anybody's money I'm using my own money I'm not using the lobbyists I'm not using donors I don't care I'm really rich I'll show you that in a second and by the way I'm not even saying that in a braggart that's the kind of mindset that's the kind of thinking you need for this country understand transparency builds trust with your audience and if we don't trust the leader if we feel that he's hiding something from us well Trust is compromised now who makes more money a teacher or an entertainer well a professor at Harvard made about two hundred thousand dollars last year Dwayne Johnson made 65 million or about 325 times more why do we pay our actors so much more than our highest paid teachers well it's because the culture puts entertainment over education and Donald Trump capitalized on this do you marketing guru Dan Kennedy says being boring is the number one sin in marketing and hey it might be the number one sin in your social life as further this is a Morning Show you have young children do you regret where this is gone look I I I regret the way the campaign has become absolutely now let's compare that with Donald Trump you've called women you don't like fat pigs dogs slobs and disgusting animals your Twitter account totally Rosie O'Donnell but if Trump stole the elections simply because of his voice listen to normal politician speak some people just don't know what to make of me so let me tell you the family I'm from well no one had their name on big buildings is that our normal people speak is that how your friends and your family talk does it sound incredibly genuine and trustworthy to you compare that with Donald Trump we can't shell beef it's peanuts and by the way unbelievable people are coming a lot of people that are illegal are great people just let's get it straight they don't want to give it straight because the press are liars they're terrible people but here's an idea so Mexico is sending whatsapp it and by the way they're coming from all over the world including the Middle East why not come in come on in we're stupid we'll take care of you he sounds like he's swapping stories with old friends over a freaking carrot cake doesn't mean now do you think if he sounds like an old friend he might feel like an old friend and if he feels like an old friend isn't that someone that you liken someone that you trust how long Trump has mastered the art of tonality and in my opinion it was one of the three deciding factors in winning the election for him in fact tonality is so important I
