5 MUST HAVE mods for your VW Golf R/GTI!

I'll try cause me I haven't see what we can do Savage and too many stairs not window yo guys what's going on so today we're gonna go through five mods that I think are a must-have for the belvoir they're not actually specifically tailored more to mine I'm kind of I've kind of tried to go with more generic stuff that I think apply to any golf are we're gonna do a bit of exhaust a bit performance yeah let's get started on the mods so the first thing I would recommend that you need to get done 100% and it was a bit of a cliche one because everyone says it res delete a million percent whether it's a seven or seven point five or an s3 for that residue Lee is the first thing you need to do to the car now I don't even have a video of mine when I first got it because it sounded shape but I've got a video of when it got res deleted and which I'll throwing around now [Music] and it makes such a difference to like the tone when you boot in it the actual sound of the res building up the DSG farts they get more aggressive the actual sound of it cruising around the city just got more of an aggressive grumble to it what you don't realize about our cars is the two liter engines they're full of silencers you've got firstly you've got the cup which silence is a lot of the engine then you've got the down pipe which can be bigger which makes it louder then you've got the resonator and then you've got the back box and then obviously in the 7.5 from like 68 plates or 19 onwards you've got the GPF which i think is only a UK thing and that's a completely the 7.5 is a complete another video because what they've done to that car but then the 19 onwards on to the GT is and ours they've ruined it completely and I think that's why they've not sold as much as the 7s or they're not as popular as the sevens because they've ruined it anyway but the thing with the res is it will cost you anything from I'd say like 50 to 150 pound depends where you go is equal over the custom which will probably cheaper you can go for scorpion which I think is around like the 120 130 mark or you could go for Mill Tech and I think there's a few others as well but they're kind of the main ones mine so mine's a scorpion low drone and that's what I was gonna recommend 100% you need a low drone scorpion res delete the drone basically most people will know but for those who don't drone is that humming sound when you're on the motorway cruising about to 3,000 revs it's that humming loud humming song within the car or even when you just drive around see it's it's annoying very annoying even when you've got music on you can hear it it's like a vibration within the car so the low drone res delete it gives you all that the sound gains that you want in terms of making the DSG far louder in store for the low drone basically reduces the drawn from within the car the coming of the car so I'd say that's an absolute most second mod I'd recommend it's kind of a tune one because I'm trying to keep it to five trying to keep the video a bit short so it doesn't get too boring but the second one hundred percent recommend panel extensions are bought them before I even got the car as soon as I got to ATG to pick up the car and we still come on straight away because the the standard paddles are just shocking that on these golf's they're just pathetic they're little basically little plastic things I've stopped out there and you can just about see them and the only reason you can see them is the need to show the plus or minus sign on them so you need to either change the paddles out completely I think my racing line do you like full panel extensions and you can pull the pin out put the new ones in or you can just get the stick on extensions at the start I got the stick on extensions I think you can get the the full puddle change for like a 60 quid for a set oh I don't know how long I've been out the car now so I'm just way you're not what's worth doing or what's not doing and all that that's rich coming for me when I've got 200 150 pound size good sign the car which I've gone nine months without but yeah I'd say that the hundred percent needed I went for these ones just because I wanted something that there's some ones that I must've in the red I thought they were a bit too much and then to go with it I'd say you need to change the steering wheel in some kind of way whether you go for the full carbon one a custom one you go for the LED steering wheel you get a reit rimmed or you get a couple put on like I did because it's sitting like it's meant to be a performance car and it's the wheel is thin and it just feels thick I don't know why there's no signs to it with along with the panel's there's no sign to the wheel at all lights a performance car it doesn't give you anything away some people might like that but that's why I put the the Alcantara cover on with the blue strip to kind of make it a little bit more aggressive it's the thing you sat in front of all the time as well it's the main thing you see so it kind of reminds you of that you're in a performance car I think that's an app must have change the puddles I got from eBay I think they were like 13 pound so it's not an expensive mod the cover obviously yeah I I do I'm on my Instagram DSG SS eries I'll put the link in the bio third module I would say it's not a cheap one but you can have it done cheap well that's up to you three month and not just not just a ECU which is the car itself the engine you need to ECU on tcu the gearbox and the engine and the reason for that it's kind of something I talked about in the last video the gear changes will get sluggish if you just do one Eve especially if you got stage two maybe stage one you won't notice it too much or in stage two you're 100% no it's so easy you t seem up the reason they haven't done it from Factory why it's not quicker and you can get so much power out of them so easily it's obviously because of future cars they want to bump the power up and say oh yeah this one's got more power and if they put this one to 360 370 which is the stock stage one kind of baseline figures 362 370 they did that and they have to bump it up to 400 and then remember they own all D so they're gonna have to put the iris three puss porn anyway so I'd say the five main companies in the UK that you're looking at or around Manchester and all racing line well who did mine APR there's MRC there's places in Manchester that DDG SGR so there's all these kind of place you can get them done from now the maps depending you could go to like anyone that can map and you could get them as cheap as like 300 pound but again that's if you want to do that if you want to go with someone reputable I think with like APR you're looking up anything from 750 for just the engine to maybe around thirteen fourteen hundred with the gearbox as well and then you've got like racing light I think that kind of the same prices as well so they are expensive but the power gains you get you get more talk you get a lot more tops I think yet 60 to 70 bhp more but you get over 100 100 or more talk from the map so I would say it's a must because the drive that the kick down everything so mines mines my speed limit removed rev limiter dim park removed you get these little things as well which just make the car better and the kick down like when you just cruise at 70 in the more way and then you just floor it in auto in race the kick down it kicks your head back it's insane the launch is mud as well since I'm at the Horlicks sorted and I've been lon I've launched a couple of times it just it's the wait launches and it's only stage one it's scary how how it just knocks off the line so quickly and the stock ones I've been in a stock one and it is quick but stage one for the money it changes the car completely if you add that with a res delete and maybe a few exhaust mods which is what I've done basically it's just a different car I just personally recommend it depends what you want because you can kind of get the economy kind of up which you're not going to get on this car you can get the pop and bang map which isn't all about performance is more about noise which is what mine or you could get just an all-out aggressive map for power and I think APR are the way to go for a kind of performance map if you want like a custom tune I've seen I've not actually had one bought SDR and DDG in Manchester they've they've done some full custom treatments they spent like a full day on and then from what I've seen like shams car was done by DDG there what they do is modify the way they've got I don't want to give too actually but the way they've got his car flaming a Polo GTI flaming is much well yeah that's like remapping that's what I would say free muffin if you want me to go into more detail about it then I couldn't do in another video just let me know in the comments next thing most full Buxton kit or any body kit of that core TRC or KS beef they do golf's some sort of body kit you know in terms of splitter skirts diffuser spoiler the car it when it was stuck do you know what I didn't actually realize compared to now I love the car little stock enough considering leaving it stock when I first got it but now the kits on him when I look back on it stock I actually hate how it looks it's I mean it's understated which some people like again what it's a golf it's like that the top-of-the-range golf here you get quite exhaust and you know you get the power and whatever and our budgets bought it just when you compare it to like and honestly I know it's not the comparison to this but the top of the range a3 is the rs3 and when you compare it to that how they got the honeycomb grille and it just the rs3 looks you can tell it's not an a3 but this now I look at it you can't tell like if you didn't know cars and you just seen a black golf like man with the gray wheels when it's stuck I don't think most people would know it's a golfer so I'd say the the splitter oh you could go for the one I went throw it in here the one I've gone for I've told you about the problems about in my first video it's the dip is annoying what Maxton do plenty of them they do I'd say for the seven and 7.5 combined they do over 7/8 splitters different styles so you can go for any of them styles you've got skirts now I've actually got the 7.5 ones which lip up at the back you'll see them probably in another video soon I've gone for them so I'll be able to tell you as well if they fit or not because mine's a Mach 7 or these 7 ones or Maxton they were proper boring they were just just flat lines basically and I didn't want to swats a couple of people and they said these will fit so we're gonna find out I guess if not there's a shame on me so yeah diffuser one thing to look out for with the 7.5 I've got the fins on the back on the sides they come with the 7 mark 7 diffuser but they don't come with the Mach 7 point 5 ones you have to buy them separately from Mark Stone I think they're extra 60 quid and it's a bit annoying but they do add stunts to the back of the car so I would say if you got a 7.5 and you're buying the diffuser 5 the fins as well because it just gives a bit of a wire stunts good thing about the sevens it came with Fingal's at 145 quid with delivery you can put a discount cauldron he just googled Maxton discount code there's always one on google for 10% that's a little tip for you so that and then a spoiler Maxton only do lip ones which I didn't like which is why I went for the wholesale one so I actually wouldn't recommend a gulf spoiler for Maxton I'd recommend having a look around obviously the the goal two seems to be quite anger or if that's how you pronounce it waiting you can go all Sarah as well but it's expensive you could go I hope there's not too many brands for the Gulf's that do spoilers so you've kind of limited with your options or you could find companies that you know custom mold and custom building oh yeah that's your options in terms of that and the last thing I would say is spaces are for all Springs in a bit but I'll tell you something that I've been hearing a lot and the reason I didn't do it so I went 12 mill on the front 50 ml in a buck I got them done from auto world and the thing is I didn't really notice it until I seen another Gaul file with spaces and at that point I was like wow like this sit in too much far too much and it looks stupid so the way they sat now obviously you can see on the clips it's it's a lot wider it's it's more aggressively and with the kick when you put the kit on the whole stunts of the car changes oh it's lower from the front it's law from the sides it's law from the back more aggressive on the back and then when it's it's wider it just gives the whole car a nice balance now what I'm gonna say to you here is this is where you need to be careful I would say from what I've heard you need to make a choice of what you're doing on the Golf R public potentially GT as well but this sit a bit higher and a bit more in so it's a bit different but for the ours I can guarantee you you need to make a decision you need to make a decision of whether you get in spaces or Springs if you went 20 ml on the spring and around the same setup as me on the spaces you need to make a decision on which one you have gonna have because all I've heard is that when you do Bowl your arches rub and it starts flaking your pain it's annoying especially when you have people sat in the car it's just rubbing on the arches now and all some people who've removed the inner part of the arches to stop that problem happening but then that's if you want to do that that's a lie I wouldn't want to I think it's just too much headache I have people sat in the car regularly as well family and stuff friends so for me it's just inconvenient if I'm just going over speed especially when I managed if you go around speed bombs potholes and it's just gonna rub and scrape and really just gonna ruin my pain I'm not gonna do it I know a friend horse he had the racing line 20 ml Springs he put the spaces on and he removed them within a day within 18 hours I think he was getting that annoyed with it and all the people as well we've had them they said they'd robbed a bit but they've dealt with it and there's other people who've just completely avoided it and I was one of them because it's just a headache I don't need as a daily it's just not something I don't want but yeah that's kind of them five things covered I'd say these are kind of tailored to preference I've kind of tried to avoid the things I've done specifically for me I've kind of tried to do something
