5 Gyroscope Experiments Amazing to Watch

the drivers scope is a device used to maintain orientation during angular velocity it's pretty cool to watch so today's video is on five amazing gyroscope experiments I'll just get this gyroscope here are five so this is what a gyroscope looks like in space its orientation stays exactly the same despite it being pushed in different direction any object up here does however if I get this spinning just give me a second so once the gyroscope is spinning you can just see how stable it becomes and however I knock it it's not going to change its playing its gonna remain in the same plane I can put it physically into a different plane and tap it again but it will still hold that same plane and it's a much more stable so it just gives you an idea of how we use spin stabilization and gyro stabilization for control onboard the International Space Station [Music] for so what we're looking at here is a sort of gyroscope but in the form of an omnidirectional drone the rotors are positioned in key areas so the square drone can move in any direction very cool [Music] number three with 3d printing technology we've seen all sorts of gyroscope creations but this one is our favorite rwg research 3d prints at gyrosphere inside a cube and the end result is very interesting [Music] [Music] okay so this is what I printed out basically there's five [Music] so that's the gyroscopic spherical thingamabob er pretty darn cool number two here's a gyroscope trick you can try yourself all you need is a bike tyre and a piece of string if you attach the string to the axle the wheel will be forced to fall into a horizontal position as you can see but if you spin the wheel it will be locked vertically until the wheel stops spinning [Music] [Music] [Music] and finally number one here's another gyroscope experiment that looks more fun in this one you sit in a rotatable chair if you tilt the spinning wheel it actually turns you around they use this exact same method to turn spacecraft in a weightless environment don't leave yet because after this clip we have another video we wanted to show you that you'll find very interesting [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] how'd your mistake that's right there you go I had one more video I wanted to show you another gyroscope in space [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it demonstrated [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so let's sum up our exploration of angular momentum and gyroscopes check out my previous upload on amazing glass making videos and in the meantime subscribe for more [Music] [Music]
